Hello,
I am frustrated to have no more control over this option. Perhaps I am awaiting too much, but a simple switch to control the Battery Low led -> is that too much for Samsung? I can see the percentage in AOD, so I must not have the LED blink when battery is low.
Did anyone find out how to disable only that message? Truely I can disable all messages (set the complete LED to off) but this I don't want.
Thanks @ all

I would also like to be able to disable this and the charging status led setting. It was available on previous Samsung phones before the s6 series but for some reason they removed the option under led setting and changed the option to either have the led on or off.

Never seen gravity box before. Installed Gravity Box [MM] and tested some functions. Because it is for AOSP the most functions does not seem work.
But disabling Battery LOW Led seems to work, now I am on 15% and no LED is on
Thank you in advance
if you are root , you can try gravaty Box ,and it have this control. but i hope you know the harm of root.

Hello,
explecitely this are the things which are not working for me. I wanted to set long press on homebutton, but this does not work. Btw, surely I can confirm that the Battery Low LED is now disabled, but the green "Battery fully charged" LED seems also to be disabled, but for me this is no problem. Perhaps some interferences with my echoe rom V12?
Thanks

coming from htc legend and xperia mini, the led notification lights was an important feature, now i really miss it in the note, and using noled app is not the same as having actual led lights.
so i was thinking if there is a possibility to use the menu and back buttons lights as notification light ? i found that they are separate from the screen light .. so can this be done by an app or a custom rom or it can't be done ?
This idea has already been implemented for many Samsung devices. Just find a custom kernel with "BLN" Support (BackLightNotification) and then download the app (info HERE) and away you go.
Hope that helps mate

check bLED
after i posted this i found out about bLED and bln kernel (i didn't know what bln means) thanks for your help
There is also noLED. Not one i use but you might aswell know all the options
I've read that they all hurt battery life
i tried noLED but i didn't like it
i know that bln might drain the battery faster but it's important for me, and maybe with further development some of the current problems might be fixed
NoLed is good, doesn't require root and only uses about 3% battery when enabled (and nothing if you switch it off). You can also customize the settings for additional power saving and I managed to get it down to 1% by setting the notification to flash on and off.
My only issue with NoLed is that from time to time it gives me the sleep of death. Disable it And my issues go away - haven't had time to test whether or not SoD is down to the power saving settings.
Hi everybody,
got a brand new Nexus 5 from thuesday and so far I'm happy with it... There's just a thing that makes me angry; it seems to me that the notification LED is not working properly, or maybe I did not understand which are the roles which determine WHEN it should light or not.
Example: I set in Whatsapp configuration that notifications should use the LED (in particular, I also set the green color for these notifications).
Sometimes Whatsapp messages leads to a blinking led (when the screen is dark, so, in standby). This is what I expected to see everytime there's an unread Whatsapp message.
But... it happens sometimes that a received, unread whatsapp message doesn't trigger any LED activity.
Just 20 mins ago, I heard from my Nexus 5 a notification sound (an incoming Whatsapp message)... but no led activity at all.
Few mins ago I received another Whatsapp message, and this time I heard the sound and can see the green led blinking.
So... It's possible I didn't understand the correct behaviour of these LED notifications... or maybe it's a known bug and others have noticed the same issue.
Does anyone found a similar behaviour ? It seems to me it's a matter of software, because *when* the LED blinks, it blinks without any defect.
Thanks
I'm having the opposite issue from you. Sometimes the Notification LED gets stuck blinking, even after all notifications on my phone have been cleared.
This is happening on my phone, as well as the two others I purchased.
Mine seems fine so far
No issues here either. I have Handscent controlling the LED for SMS/MMS. And I let Android decide what to do for Gmail and Exchange LEDs. If you want full control you can probably download one of the LED apps and let that control all your LED settings for each app.
I'm having the same issue. Sometimes the notification light decides not to blink... I have no idea why this happens though. Just wanted to chime in that you're not alone.
Get light flow, the LED is a lot more useful with that app.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I'm rooted and using light flow and after I've turned it on, read the notification and then switched it off I also sometimes get the light blink continuously until I open up light flow and it's again obtained root access. On the N4 it just requested root at startup and then never had to again but doesn't seem to till I've opened the app on the N5. Maybe it's a 4.4 bug.
No LED earlier when i received a Tapatalk notification. I don't know if that's the phone or the app at fault? Otherwise i seem to get LED notification in most cases.
Okie, so it seems that notification issues are quite common... I'm tempted to buy light flow just to verify it's not an hardware fault which requires RMA.... (I'm actually for the software fault ...which isn't tracked yet)

Lightflow works perfectly for me.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I can confirm ^. Just got the paid version of Light Flow, works like a charm so far. Lets you change LED colours. Really awesome app. SO far i tested it for missed call(red blink)/hangout MMS(purple)/gmail e-mail and hotmail e-mail (green). Its been working flawlessly so far. The stock LED function did work for my hangout text messages, however it would not work my my e-mail. With light flow everything is working perfectly now + the extra functionality that it comes with.
LightFlow is definitely a worthwhile investment. The developer is quite active on XDA as well, and is quick to reply to any feedback. The app works as advertised (had it for my N4 and now N5) and provides great functionality. For me, the LED notification was a key selling feature. I hated having to turn the screen on my previous phones to see if I even had any notifications, but now I can glance at my phone and know if I have a text, e-mail, missed call, etc. So having absolute control over the LED is awesome.
For my N5 I have had some occasions when the LED would act a bit on its own, whether it would pulse white for a second or two randomly, or not turn on when it was supposed to. It's rare when it happens and is really a non-issue. Where I haven't had much success, though, is testing the LED when I'm setting up notifications in LightFlow. Doing LED tests in LightFlow doesn't seem to work for some reason. Not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this or not.
Is there any specific configuration setting for lightflow on Nexus5 or it should work out of the box?

Should work straight out of the box Although it may involve some playing around, and also make sure notifications in the apps themselves are turned off or you'll essentially have two going off at once (one for the app, one for LightFlow).
The dev just posted a helpful link that I used to get testing the LED to work, and also would help configure LightFlow for your N5 too:
http://www.folioflow.com/ff/page/website/lightflow/pageId/2349
I'm not rooted but I remembered using an app called missed call with the og droid and it works perfectly on the nexus 5. Free too!

I installed LightFlow and tried to stop the blinking light in sleep mode. I enabled LightFlow and enabled sleep settings and checked the box for Stop the notification light when sleeping. The notification light still blinks when the NFC tag is triggered or when the phone times out for sleep. Please advise.
I didn't find any post about this so lets go...
I'm used to se a red charging led while the phone is charging <90% and green led when >90%, I know lightflow does this but i want to know if any xposed module can do this.
Thank you in advance mates.
Light flow is a great app....why not just use it? I've never had an issue with it personally, or any undo battery drain.
Anyway....all you have to do is look through the modules available in xposed installer app and see if there's one.

Ok.Thanks for the reply.
But I read here ,
Advantages over other apps that don't use Xposed:
Lower memory usage, no services running in background.
Almost no battery life used, since it doesn't use a Service, the module only turns on the LED and Android handles the rest.

The tradeoff seems to be that Xposed integrates it as "part of the ROM" in a way, which is why it has the lower memory usage and doesn't use a service, whereas an App provides more customization i.e. LED flash on/off durations, show alternating colours for multiple notifications, but it uses a minor wakelock to start it and to end it (wakes the device for a small amount of time ONLY when it changes colours in alternation or starts/stops the LED, does not wake the device in the duration of the LED) rather than letting Android deal with it. In the end it's up to you.
The difference is almost nothing, 1-5% of your entire battery at most unless you leave an LED alternating on the entire night off the charger.
Lightflow makes the charging battery led fluctuating or pulsating, there's no "always on" option, thats why I don't use it. Thank for your answers mates!

Is there app that can put battery led off, but keeping led otherwise on? I want to see diffrent colored led lights depending what kind of message I have got, but I dont want to see light when I am charging my phone or battery is low. Is there working app for that without custom rom?
Also is it possible to make that led does not work when phone is in silent mode?
Haven't tried it with this phone, but have you looked at Lightflow? I used to use it back in the day and worked real well for me.

Any wau to go around that?

No for the moment... Same happened to me
There's an app called notify buddy but you'll miss ambient display
I saw the app, but I cannot add notification for gmail or for charging
I'm still waiting for my OP7 to arrive and I'm already missing the LED notifications..
I mean... how do you know if a telephone is charging without an LED?? :/

You can't... Just move the phone and see on ambient display if it's charging...
That also bothers me a lot buuut is one con vs a lot of pros for this phone. I hope some day there's an addon for ambient display (even on magisk module) to make a "notification led" under the notch
