Keep G Flex 2 H955 or buy Leeco Le 2 PRO? - LG G Flex 2

Hi guys!
My g flex 2 got in a bootloop with 1006 error so I took it to warranty.
I've read on the G4 forums that they replaced or gave their money back cuz LG couldn't fix that error.
So I was wondering....should I buy Leeco Le 2 Pro if I get my money back or just stick with H955?
I know that the Cortex A72s on the Helio x20 are more powerful than SD810,but on the other hand Mali T880MP4 is much weaker than 430.
Also,I've got lucky and my g flex had a good display, without yellow spots, but it heated up like hell when gaming(or using gps) so I had to root and use the custom thermal config file. This issue has been allegedly fixed on 6.0.1(I didn't get to upgrade mine),but they said the same thing for 5.1.1...and now I don't know what to believe.
Besides that,I've seen that the IMX 135 on our g flex is very similar to the IMX 230 on leeco, even though the latter has 21 mpx.
I don't really care about the fingerprint sensor,it is nice to have but it seems more of a gimmick to me,the knock code can do the job as well.
Furthermore, there is 2gb of LPDDR4 on g flex, while leeco has 4gb of LPDDR3.Would that make a noticeable upgrade?(I'm not a real multitasker,I ask in terms of general speed)
So...what do you recommend me? Are the two A72 really worth it or should I keep my g flex?
Sorry for the long post
I'm looking forward to your replies.

@pungasul1
hi i got my self a xiaomi redmi note 3 pro (the s650 version) i just bought it not send yet
i'm giving up on the lg flex 2... no unlocked bootloader not custom roms...
and ugly ass screen p-oled it's very granular on grey spots u see alot of wierd points. it's very ugly.
and dont go for a mediatek.... it works for basic but its nothing special.
go for a xiaomi redmi note 3 pro
the snapdragon 650 is almost as good as the s810 that's in the flex2
redmi note 3 ahd 3gb ram and 32gb storage with sd card support
5.5" full hd. and a 4000mah battery and finger print scanner
the lg flex 2 is okay but 2gb ram and 16gb internal is not that great.
the full hd screen is not the best wierd poled. but people love the curved phone they are al curious. other then that. nothing special.
i still prefer tu use my lg g3 2gb 16gb with a good custom rom. i get more battery then on the flex2, it's my 2nd that just lays at home i use it for all the gta games. i got it for 168 euro new. trying to sell it now... for a bit more.
the xiaomi is 155euro on aliexpress. that's really a steal
im selling the flex 2 it's a fun phone but not that good it's left behind... just let the flex 2 go. let it go let it go

Good luck with warranty. Also MIUI is probably the heaviest android UI ever made, i had mi4c and it was struggling with 3GB RAM. (after boot with 0 apps i had like 500mb free RAM), pretty amazing.. :good:
Audio quality was so bad i sold it within a week, they are using cheap audio chips i had constant buzzing using headphones.
Also Xiaomi is locking bootloaders aswell, you want custom roms for Redmi 3? It's pretty much MIUI or CM.

Sell the LG, but don't buy that phone.

But what other options do I have in this price range??
The G4 is pricier than I can afford and frankly it doesn't impress me with that SD808.
I was thinking about that leeco because the camera is better than in our g flex, and also has manual mode,+4k hdr.
I had a very pleasant experience with my g flex(besides the overheating) but I'm afraid that it will be a dead device by next year(As seen on G Flex 1).Moreover,I don't see it holding it up too much with only 2gb of ram,be it DDR4.
Nexus 5x is not an option because of the lack of internal memory, weaker cpu and weaker camera.
So? Any other ideas? Pros?Cons?

Check Moto X Play, Xperia Z3, Huawei P8, Meizu MX5.

redmi note 3 has unlocked bootlaoder. but they lock it so aliexpress sellers don't put malware on it. you can unlock it your self in 5min (after asking a unlock code thing)
cm13 aosp aokp mokee rom, and what every
miui is not my favorite. used it a long time ago on my lg optimus 2x.
yeah you need to tweak it. it doesnt use the 3gb ram well. just put the background limit to standard and more thing
warranty? i dont know that word lol sure i bought the flex 2 new from amazon a 168euro but i dont give a fùck a bout warrenty really.
audio seems okay a bit mixed reviews soem say speaker and call volume is to low other see it's good.
dont use earphone use bluetooth for 60% of the time.

letv eco1 x800 is also for a cheap price 160euro
but has a s810 also but 4gb ram
but i prefer a phone with custom roms like the xiaomi. (that why i'm giving up on the lg flex2 never could use it as my general phone it's just my 2nd it's not good enough to be for every day use it find it's faster then my lg g3 but yeah the flex 2 with no custom roms killed it really for me)
i really can't recommand any mediatek phones, i dont hate them buy yeah there battery life isn't that great and no optimazation at all like 0... and not custom roms

Unfortunately,in my country(Romania) I can't buy x800 as it cannot be found anywhere.
So the only option remains le 2 pro.I just can't figure it out.
I saw that the the difference between the cameras(back) isn't big at all,but Leeco's UI is indeed much smoother. It is so fast.
To keep it short, the only thing that stops me to buy that phone is the gpu.Mali T880MP4 is so much weaker than 430 and I'm afraid not to affect general usage or gaming(if android is ever getting any nice game)

you can't buy from aliexpress?
the letv pro 2 it's that great from what i read. camera is a really crap, seems great on paper but videos and picture arent that nice
on youtube some did a review. and both sayed camera isn't that good. after some days of usage.
i dont know i find mediatek bad. i mean i would buy it for parents or older people. like my mom has a doogee f5 with the mtk6753 and it's good for her internet facebook whatapp. but me it's not good enough.
tried a other mediatek also mtk6753 the umi touch. still hate it. and still didn't sell it can't seem to get rid of it. anyway. i love snapdragon and will keep phone with snapdragon (high end phones) cause low end i find mediatek great
anyway i wouldnt recommande keeping the flex 2. so yeah. no other options?

Not really... but if leeco's camera isn't that good then I see no reason to buy it.
And I can buy from aliexpress but I'm concerned about the warranty.Furthermore,it takes like 2 months for the phone to arrive.. so,it is a big NO!
I really like xperia z3+ but in my country it is very expensive..like 400$,compared to 275$ that i spent on the g flex..
Also, marshmallow seems great on the g flex 2 but again once it got updated to 5.1.1 many said that the overheating is gone...but it wasn't the case for me,and I updated from day one.
I am so undecided right now.
Moreover,I just can't wait for the prices to drop..or black friday as I don't have any other smartphone.Currently(until my phone comes out of warranty or I get my money back) I am using a samsung e1200 if you can believe it.

ahhahahahahaha samsung e1200 ahahh the drug dealer phone
yeah maybe wait for the sale maybe there will be a good phone.
i buy most of my **** of aliexpress. (chinees phones) anyway z3 is also a good phone. maybe htc one m8 or m9? no samsung they are to expensive. lg g4 i guess also bit to expensive.
try to look in phone stores or shops what they have for sale . maybe then try to look on the internet if you can find a cheaper deal

))))) the drug dealer phone
Thats a good one))
I may get the opportunity to buy a g4 but i don't know if I should give my 810 for 808.
I know that at the moment there are very few gpu demanding games on android and I don't even play them(I played asphalt 8 for like 4 years but then I dropped it when I realized what a bunch of greedy bastards gameloft is made of).
I am surely going to enjoy g4's camera and even display(tough I might miss the oled) but you know...here comes that pride thing.
Now i've got 810 and adreno 430,my phone is a powerhouse, almighty and I feel so good about that. But with a 418..is just meh.. ok

@pungasul1
I feel you man. But thr flex 2 is abandoned... That's sucks.. The phone is good. But every other phones has custom roms and support.
Anyway. I don't know. Just try some phones in a store.

G4 is a good looking phone and the camera is a beast, a friend of mine has it and i analized the 2 phones pretty intensive. In my opinion the G4 display is better, but for a regular user the oled looks better, i was running antutu, it was testing the 3D and our girlfriends said the flex 2 display looks better... After we ran antutu 5 times, the flex 2 scores was the same as the G4, but installing and opening apps is fastter on flex 2. I don't care to much for updates so the G Flex 2 is ok for me.

Well, its sad but i wouldnt buy G Flex 2 again, but im happy with that phone currently. If i would like to change it,i would go for Mi5 or PRO 6,those are one heck of a phones. Even P9 isnt that bad tho. But if you care for updates, get 5X or 6P,updates are guaranteed to H2 2017,so you will get Android O for sure

[Q] [HELP] Choosing a device

Hello everybody that comes across this post, i made this thread because i have one difficult decision this christmas. Choosing a phone.
I have a 270 dollar budget but i cant buy on a contract as i live in portugal and most phones here are super expensive.
I have two devices in mind, in wich one of those i will list my favorite and least favorite things about them. I will also mention what i am looking for in a device.
What im looking for:
Great browsing performance ( buttery smooth )
Good batery life
A good display
A good set of fun features like gestures, etc
Mediocre gaming performance
I dont care about the camera as long as it has one
I am considering the Moto G, and the HDC Galaxy Note 3 Max n9006 (a clone, but a very good one)
Moto G - 185eur
Things i like about the moto g
Battery life
Screen resolution
Snapdragon 400 pro (quadcore 1.2ghz)
Getting kitkat soon
Things i dislike about the moto g
Screen size (4.5'' inches seems to small for me , 5.2 is my perfect size)
Huge black bezel in the bottom makes it look so ugly
On screen buttons
Lack of fun features
No expandable storage
HDC Galaxy Note 3 Max N9006 - 150Eur
Im just going to list the specs so you can have an idea
Exacly a 1:1 replica with the original on the outside , including cover , battery and s-pen
MTK6589 quadcore clocked at 1.2ghz
5.7'' screen with a 720p resolution
Fully functioning S-PEN
1GB of ram
Air view, multi-window, air gestures working.
Touchwiz
What i like about it:
Screen size (might be a little to big but ok)
Fun features
Removable battery ( exchangable with original one )
Great for browsing
Design looks phenomenal
Expandable storage
What i dislike about it:
Non official phone
No full safety if the phone comes through customs without huge tax payment
No updates (4.4 etc..)
No assured good battery life
THANKS EVERYONE!
Well, if I were you I would go for the Moto G. But if you really want a bigger display and want official updates and supported firmwares, I recommend you save up some money and buy the actual Note 3. Other than that, the Moto G is perfect!

Actually, I just had a look at the Note 3 Replica, and to be honest.. It looks pretty good! For 150 euros, you cant really beat that!
I found a good deal too, Link to ebay
I was wrong about knockoff phones.. hehe.

[Q] Help me chose a next phone!

hi, my nexus 4 is aging and i need new one ! it has so many problems
also i asked on the sticky thread, i waited long but got no answer !
I have been away from phone stuff for long, so im not good enough to decide myself. Here are what thought of and i can't decide between them:
1.Nexus 6
2.Note 4 sounds intresting but i kinda feel im gonna hate it after buying it. and i had So many bad memories from Samsung!
3.waiting for new Z ultra
4.Waiting for 810 SoC. this way i get 64-bit , not sure if that means i get some new apps or it makes no difference !
this year was so boring, nothing special(in hardware) but buying stuff like g2 makes me mad ! i want new device i didn't try hard to wait a year only to find out i should have done it long ago
but i saw 805 and 810 have some special capabilities ! (in rendering and graphics) also 810 has some stuff like ultrasonic pen and blablabla , so thats what made me want to wait!
here what i do with phone:
1. Root it
2. Play games
3. Watch movies in it
4. Mostly browse web google stuff check xda for news ect
5. I really really really care about screen quality, but anything more than 450ppi is pointless for me!
6. I want a large device ! larger is better
7. My nexus 4 battery is only a little small for me
8. I [Almost] keep it till it dies
9. As long as its really worth it i can pay, but im saving money for future!
10. I don't care about camera at all! I take no pictures !
11. I need OTG!
Can you guys recommend me some phones with my needs? should i wait? or buy nexus 6, or any other device that i didn't mention?
what will the benefits of waiting for 64-bit be? what devices will feature Snap 810?
oh and One M8 has an old SoC (but lower res, so performance is not much different, but i see 805 has some special game rendering capabilities)
Sewrizer said:
If you don't care about the camera, the Nexus 6 is the better choice. It has a great screen and stereo speakers, thus great gaming and movie experience. The battery is quite good as well, especially with the fast charge feature out of the box.

so nexus 6 is my main choice for now
what about waiting for 64-bit snap810?
and btw, can you quote me so i get email? now it sounds like i had answers but didn't get notifications
Edit: I don't care about the camera but i heard its actually pretty great great as note 4 and in the top 10!
If you really want an 810 SoC then I'd say wait until next year. I'm hoping that the Galaxy S6 has it. That is if I decide to wait that long.
some guy in sticky answered me about the 64-bit, for now nexus 6 is still my choice
Sewrizer said:
The camera hardware is good. It is the software that lacks some features phones like the Note 4 have. Nexus 6 is a great device in terms of performance, battery and screen, but the camera is "just" decent. By no means, is it to be considered a bad camera, though.
My "speculation" is that qualcomm will launch snapdragon 810 in the late 2015. 805 can't be replaced this soon. They will probably come up with some minor upgrade such as an 806 (like they did with 801) but that's it until note 5/nexus 7 (or whatever the new nexus phone will be named). This is just the way I see it. Mobile industry is very dynamic and rather hard to predict without some information from the inside.

Sorry, didn't realise you were about to tell us what you do use your smartphone for...
What games do you play? Do they need [almost] desktop-level cpu and gpu chops or, are we talking Angry Birds level of resource usage?
Depending on the games you play a Note3 would probably be overkill already. No need for special hardware.
In the mean time, the screen size and resolution seems to be the main factors so, your list is probably spot on. I'd just add the Vivo PD1305 as perhaps one to watch depending on how open it is and whether it can attract support from developers.
I consider 64-bit only important from a "future-proofing" perspective. All else is marketing fluff.
In your position, I'd just grab a 7" or larger tablet and restrict my phone to a manageable size (and price). Buying both might even be chaeper than the device you end up buying (as long as needs rather than wants are prioritized to inform your purchase.

1. I couldn't install few games on it ! it got slow, it has weird screen issues (shade of what i was seeing , thats not in screenshots) and bad antenna and a little low storage and no otg also i would like to get new decent screen
2. Basically , future proofing !
3. As i said, i have been away from world for a long time basically im gonna go and find some amazing graphics new games and play them like mc5 or nova 3 or ect!
4. i never had a tablet not sure how it feels some apps are diffrent i can't call, (i do it only on emergency but what should i do if it happens?! maybe i get a cheap 1$ backup phone or keep the nexus 4 because im not sure i can sell it) + its big, i mean really big, 6inch can fit into pocket but not 7 but i can just carry a bag with myself :| i don't know! + lte ones are expensive
i don't know about vivo, its not a popular brand!(that doesn't mean its bad, i just have to google about it ) + can't be found on my country
and about oneplus one, its an amazing phone other than weird problems i heard it has on net ! (which i guess is fixed) but sadly, that awesome phone can't be found here its like everything i need, specially designed for me )
i could even end up not finding nexus 6 either, than i would think about waiting for something like z ultra or get htc one m8 or note 4!(wait till it gets cheap or something)
its awesome, but can't find it here
btw HerpingAndDerping , what do you mean by 510 at first?
my nexus 4 isn't fixable ?! let me install lolipop on it
omg, this is the best thing ever ! but sadly usb thether won't work so im back on kitkat till ota releases !
It depends how much money you are willing to give, the place where you live and specs.
The Note 4 or 3 are pretty good, the LG G3 is also good, especially with a bit of tweaking, Nexus 6 is also the prime rival of the Note 4 but its unavailable in alot of places and it might take months for it to appear in places.
The oppo devices are also good, Find 7 and 1+1 notably.
They are all pretty future proof, even a phone from last year is also future proof, because the Snapdragon 800 series SoC is so powerful, it can probably play any game there is out there for mobile.
If money is no issue, go for the Note 4
If money+time is no issue, Nexus 6
If you want good price/performance ratio, go for Oppo devices or LG devices or anything from 2013. The LG G3, at least where I live, is quite cheap compared to its rivals.
Notable mentions, Huawei Ascend series, Sansung Neo series, Acer Liquid series, Lenovo K series, Sony Z ultra. All of them are pretty big and cheap and have good price/performance ratio.
Good luck!

lg g3 gets hot and brings brightness down, it has some other problems as i remember, its battery life isn't good
btw, Oppo devices can't be found here either, only well-known brands ! but even moto phones are barely available, let me see if i can do anything
if not, (if im gonna get 801) i will get htc one m8 ! or even maybe the lg g3 , or even note 4, so , right now all i can do is to wait !
z ultra is amazing ! but only if it was 2k ... (at that size , pixels are huge, but for anything less than 6~ inch its overkill, in my opinion , its even bad ! because it slow downs device and drains battery !)
if i get non nexus i have to wait long for lolipop, and also, i want amoled phone for new lolipop features
what is the tweaking are you talking about?!

Good luck!

let me read some LG g3 reviews But i really like one m8, but its a little expensive. But i always had amazing memories from HTC phones except the late updates (let me see if there are custom roms for it, or see if i can turn it into GPA). Also G3 doesn't seem so bad, expect the heat and battery :| (and maybe performance?)

i just remembered. 805 has some awesome rendering stuff, so some games might come for it! so i will get an adreno 420(805) SoC
Dude buy nexus 6 is pro phone
Go for Nexus 6

hi, my nexus 4 is aging and i need new one ! it has so many problems
also i asked on the sticky thread, i waited long but got no answer !

Want to sell OPO, what to get instead?

HI all, am thinking selling my OPO but have no idea what other phone to get while waiting for OnePlus Two
It has to be cheap (~100 $/€) and support custom roms, thats all i am asking! (am flashaholic, so can not live without it )
Any tips what should I go for? THX!!!
Moto G is always a good choice. Tons of support for ROMs and kernels and such. Also, the boot loader is easily unlocked. It's more than your price tag, but you'll be much happier with it's flexibility and more powerful processor.

plus they have consistent speedy updates of new android versions, decent batterylife etc, etc.
just a small screen
Should I assume that despite your moniker that you do not currently own a Nexus 5? If that's the case, get your hands on a used Nexus 4. Tons of ROMs, kernels, mods, etc. A Galaxy S3 (with Snapdragon and 2gb RAM, not the Exynos one) wouldn't be a bad option either.
Go for Motorola and Nexus devices. They have plenty of custom rom support.
and fast when it comes to OS updates too.
this seems nice, dunno about updates though http://www.phonearena.com/news/Affo...edge-specs-and-fingerprint-ID-for-200_id68130

not sure of they will ever have dev support though, due to the mediatek stuff. That kinda is a dealbreaker for me.
their upcoming models next month are also interesting, more expensive though.
browse the gizchina site, they got tons of info on Chinese phones

Yea its never going to be anywhere near the OPO. I did see a video of it running CM12 though, again though who knows if you'll be able to get hold of it.
Thank you all guys, am wondering getting some "china" phone, but seems like there is a problem with MediaTek CPU/chipset - the support of custom roms is quite small if none for some CPU/chipset/phones.
Can anyone explain me to this. If to get a phone with Mediatek chip, which one to get for widest custom rom support? Or is it like that the only thing matter is the model of CPU and custom rom working on specific CPU will work fine on other phone with same CPU?
Try the Oppo Find 7A or 7. Same device in a sense, only it has native Color OS (and no touchscreen issues). Sadly, NO LTE on some carriers. I think the Find 7 is $500 while the 7A is $400. In the US, hard to get, but not impossible, trust me. The 7 is QHD (2K resolution) while the 7A is 1080p. For that case, I went with the 7A as it packs more of a punch.
Or the Xiaomi Mi3W or Mi4, the native MIUI phones. Again, lack of LTE on US carriers but trust me, they are very fast, unique and a breath of fresh air since stock ("vanilla" android) TouchWiz, Optimus UI and Sense have gotten boring. Pricing varies, but average from $300 to $400, just watch out where you order it from.
Lastly, the Moto X 2014 packs quite a punch and a beautiful display, and you have a good warranty back up. Be sure to skip the Verizon model (XT1096) as it cannot have its bootloader unlocked and root is VERY limited. They can now be ordered for as little as $400 for the 16GB or $450 for the 32GB, and customized options do not affect pricing unless you opt in for accessories.
I cannot recommend the Nexus 5 as it had very aggressive thermal throttling, so you never experience the 2.3GHz at its fullest, it has also been pulled out of Google's lineup. The HTC One M8 is a MARVELOUS device, and very lag free, however, it has heat issues, sometimes they begin over a short amount of time and that heat will QUICKLY deteriorate the battery. The LG G3 has a nice display, however, it is a lag machine. You really can not use it for 3D games. The G2 is also old and problematic. The G Flex 1 is still worth considering, but it is HUGE, the POLED display is very prone to burned in imaged if not properly taken care of, the curved display is weird to some and it has a 720p resolution. It is however pretty darn great. The G Flex 2 sports a Snapdragon 810, but that is not a good thing. It has been noted that the 810 heats up ALOT, which is why the Xiaomi Mi5 might use the 808 and the G4 is confirmed to have gone with the 808. The Galaxy S5 and Note 3 have very slow UI animations and overall do not have great performance. The bloatware on them is also through the roof. The newer Note 4, Note Edge, S6 and S6 Edge are just too pricey. The Nexus 6 is a HUGE Moto X 2014, but it has a bit of a price tag, and if your hands are not as big as mine, you can forget it. It has superb performance. The Droid Turbo is beginning to meet its end at high prices when it comes to used ones, but again, no bootloader unlock and root is limited.
I would REALLY recommend sticking to it for a while longer as the OnePlus Two is around the corner, the Moto X 2015 is already being rumored, the Xiaomi Mi5 MIGHT enter the US market (if your in the USA) and so on. It might also be a bad idea to hold on to it as the release of the OnePlus Two will mean fans of the OnePlus One will want to sell theirs to get the newer one, and the used value of it will drop significantly or become a challenge to get rid of.

Help choose a new Chinese Phone..

I'm currently using a Nexus 5, on stock android 5.1. I'm starting to have a few problems with it, the GPS is slow at best, battery life just gets me through the day, and i'm running low on space at 16Gb.
In my job I have been given a Windows phone for work, What i'd like to do is buy a Dual-Sim device so I can go back to carrying 1 device. I've been looking around and been quite impressed with the chinese offerings. The top phone on my list are the -
Ulefone Touch Be 2
Elephone P8000 (unable to post links)
So far, The features i'm looking for are dual sim (obviously) good camera, expandable storage & good GPS.
There are so many phones to choose from these days im just not sure what to choose.
Thanks In advance.
What model Huawei?
You can try one plus two 64gb.
Its the best. 25,000 rs. Better than nexus

I would really like that but its out of my budget.
Try one plus one. Nw u can buy for 15000-18000 rs range.

Before you buy a Ulefone, Elephone, Umi ... or any of these cheap Chinese brands. Please be aware that they do not optimize their Android OS!
This means, you may get worse performance as you had on your Nexus 5. I would say before you buy one of these brands, stick to your old Nexus 5.
If you want a good quality phone with optimized Android Rom on it, that offers good performance with a pretty good camera.
Get one of the following barnds only!
Oppo
Huawei
Xiaomi
Meizu
What is your budged btw? If a good camera is important to you, really stay away of not optimized Anrdoid!
All other small Chinese brands, put truly crappy not optimized Android on their devices!

That's a good price range, to start from.
You could check out the best prices if you want to at: kimovil . com
within this price range you could get, all of the following are dual sim:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 (only oppomart has it in stock right now) ~150$
Xaomi Mi4i ~220$
Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML ~200$
Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML ~260$
Meizu M2 Note 16GB ~150$
Huawei P8 Lite ~250$
I didn't list the following brand, but it's still a decent device:
Jiayu S3 (3GB version) ~180$
ZTE Nubia Z9 mini ~250$
The listed phones are just examples. All of them have their own downs and ups.
Meizu and Xiaomi are heavy skinned Android phones, they might remind you to iOS. I love my Xiaomi Mi4i, but it´s not for everyone.
I do assume that after using the true stock Android of your Nexus 5, you might want to stick to a phone that gets at least to close to stock Android.
So if you want the normal Android, you would have to go for the Asus Zenfone or the Huawei P8 Lite.
The Asus is more powerful but might not get an update, because it features an Intel SoC. The Huawei on the other hand has a weak SoC compared to the ASUS Zenfone 2.
It comes down to what you prefer, what would you use the phone for?
Do you want stock Android, do you want a phone that is at least as good as your Nexus 5 is, or are you willing to compromise just to have dual sim phone?
Within the price range of 200$ to 250$ there is a lot of good stuff to choose from.
That's some great info, thanks for taking the time to help me out. I was hoping someone in the know would be able to shed some light on this for me. I've been looking for a few weeks.
The idea is to replace my current personnel Nexus 5 and works Windows Lumia 635 (Rubbish), so thats what the Dual Sim is needed for. Then I like to use it to take photos on when I'm out with family and travelling for work, Im reasonably satisfied with the Nexus's camera so I'm not looking for a DSLR replacement but something competent. Then when I travel I use it for GPS to get around in Europe and the US. Next is to play music in the car so expandable storage for music and apps. 4G connectivity. Then for work emails etc. i think thats it really.
regarding good GPS signal you would have to stay to Qualcomm or Intel SoC's, those devices paired with a good brand are a save call.
For what you do the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 16GB chinese Version with dual sim and micro SD Card should be good enough. It's a big 5.5 inch phone.
It has the MIUI7 on it, it will be a completely different Android experience. There are no reviews about the GPS quality and the phone uses a fast MTK SoC, it is hard to say how good it is, usually Xiaomi places really good antennas in their phone, but as of now there is no review of it.
The battery is average ~3000mhA thing, paired with the Octa Core it will last for a day and maybe a bit more, should be better than the Nexus 5.
Advantage: it's cheap, it's Xiaomi so great quality with great support.
Downside: it has MIUI7 on it a very heavy Android modification.
You could get it for about 150$ from many different pages or straight from oppomart a bit more expensive.
The Asus Zenfone both version the 2GB/4GB is really good specification wise. The 4GB Ram version is just overkill, in my opinion.
The build quality is good, the performance is great. The only downside would be the battery life and the camera, neither is horrible bad.
GPS should be fine.
You could get the 2GB Version from pandawill for 210$ and the 4GB is at gerabest for 240$
Worth mentioning, not all dual sim phones support the full speed on both slots, as of now only the Xiaomi Mi4i has 4G net on both sim card slots!
The Redmi Note 2 and the Asus Zenfone 2 are 5.5" devices
If you want a pretty nice powerful device without a micro SD card extension, at 5" you could consider to get the Xiaomi Mi4i, the only downside of it is that a optical camera stabilization is missing. I don't see this as a problem, as I do make loads of pictures and it rarely bothers me, but it is worth to be mentioned.
I'm pretty sure i looked at the Redmi Note 2 previously, but didn't think it support expandable storage so dismissed it.
I understand most only support 4G on 1 sim this is fine. Also the size of 5.5 although is a little bigger than the Nexus I'm fine with it but would be the limit.
I also looked at the Zenphone but the camera put me off.

The Chinese 16GB Version has a microSD extension slot you just have to find one. I read on gearbest that they sell this version with 16GB and microSD slot, but it's hard to say if they provide the right information.
If you don't need the extra performance, the Zenfone might be the wrong phone.
You could also consider the Jiayu S3 3GB Version (or Jiayu S3 Advanced), some people like the phone! It is available for about 180$
It's a really good all-rounder with amazing GPS and a pretty good camera
Search on youtube for a review of the Jiayu S3 by ITXtutor, it should cover all you want to know about the phone.

Haha yeah I would have recommended the MX5, I had the MX4 Pro for a bit and that was an awesome phone! But yeah the 32GB Version retails for about 390$
The Lenovo Vibe Shot Z90, has only a SD 615, an awesome camera dual Sim and a SD Card Slot. the 32GB is around 300$.
At leats in my Xiaomi Mi4i I have no trouble with this SoC, in daily use it doesn't get hot or anything, I am not a gamer so it's a great SoC for my needs.
The Huawei P8 Lite ships with the same SoC for 240$, it's worth a thought too. I would probably go for this one. The only downside I know about is the screen brightness, it could be better and I am not sure if it has Android 5 by now.

Ive been looking at the one+two and i think that is the phone i really want.. the OS is more what I'm used to the hardware is up there, the only downside i can see would be the price for the 64gb model. Im going to see if I can purchase via my work and if need be pay some towards it.

yes that is the best thing to do!
There are two version of the Vibe Shot the Z90-3 and Z90-7, the -7 is more expensive, but supports the right bands to be used outside of japan/china!
aliexpress would have the Z90-7 for 330$, but it's always a bit risky to buy from aliexpress

yes there are a lot of threads about this topic in the official Xiaomi MIUI Forum. Link: en.miui.com
Have a look there and you will find all you need to know
If they release the device globally or in India, it will get a ROM with google installed per default. Xiaomi makes no difference between their devices.
Rom download page: http://en.miui.com/download
Like I have the Indian/global version of the Xiaomi Mi4i and can install the official Chinese ROM or the global ROM, as I like.
Would you recommend any 5inch phones in the $150 dollar region?
5.5 is just a little too big for me.

G Flex 3 Announcment IFA September 2016 ?!

According to phonearena a unkown source has leaked that the G Flex 3 will be unveiled at IFA at Berlin in September, because i'm a new member i can't provide a link but i have attached a printscreen showing the article from phonearena. (Turns out i can't upload the printscreen because i'm a new member if you just search on google phonearena g flex 3 it will show up.
PhoneArena Posted This On: 24 May 2016 at 19:29
Rumored Specs:-
5.5 QHD
Snapdragon 820
4 RAM
16MP Rear Camera
8MP Front Facing
Possible Modular Design
No Word On Self Healing Back.
(More To Be Revealed Hopefully)
Personally i'm hoping if this is true then LG may actually remember about our G Flex 2's and maybe push forward to provide updates and hopefully consider unlocking the bootloader. Whats your opinions?:fingers-crossed:
All those specs are fine, apart from the qHD screen. We don't need them on phones yet. I had a G3 and the reason I went to the flex 2 was because I was sick of it getting hot from driving a qHD display. Batteries haven't gotten larger in capacity in flagship phones for a while now, so I don't see the benefit of it for the everyday user. However if they give us a bootloader unlock I'm sure many people will be happy with their current Flex2 and see no need to upgrade to what will be pretty much just a curved G5.
Not many people want to change from the Flex2 as it is.

Yeah the only reason this article excited me was because hopefully LG will pay more attention to the Flex 2 and push out more updates and have better support for the device, no one is going to want a Flex 3 if they see how much little development and lack of updates and attention the 2 got, espically being a flagship it was ridiculous how much LG forgot about our Flex 2's, regarding the overheating i dont belive any updates in the future will fix that as we all know we got the first version of the 810 which was flawed with overheating from the off. 4gb of ram and a 820 sounds perfect but that qhd is gonna eat the battery unless it has atleast a 4000mah battery also ive grown to like 5'2 inch screens, 5'5 is a bit of a damper aswell to me.

QHD is resolution so 4x HD, OLED is a type of display, i think i might wait to see reviews on the flex 3 if it comes out, but if they unlock the bootloader on the flex 2 i don't see a reason to upgrade apart from the 4gm of ram and 820 on the flex 3.

Next phone will never be a LG! Next is the new Galaxy Note or the S7 Edge
I m afraid not only It will have locked bootloader but also no root lol
just kidding .... specs are nice though...
in order to buy an lg phone again it should be like lgg2 when it came out

All those specs are fine, apart from the qHD screen. We don't need them on phones yet. I had a G3 and the reason I went to the flex 2 was because I was sick of it getting hot from driving a qHD display. Batteries haven't gotten larger in capacity in flagship phones for a while now, so I don't see the benefit of it for the everyday user. However if they give us a bootloader unlock I'm sure many people will be happy with their current Flex2 and see no need to upgrade to what will be pretty much just a curved G5.
Not many people want to change from the Flex2 as it is.

I had a flex2 and now a G3, flex 2 is dead, with 9008....
Im really happy with flex, but with no support, is a **** phone, so I will never buy again any phone with no unlocked bootloader....

I agree bougth this phone full price even after a lot of mods still the same overheating problems, and locked bootloader.
im never buying an LG device anymore
Not having any overheating issues here. Cpu sits on 35 degrees with general use and under email benchmark load for half an hour doesn't go above 60. Big difference to my G3 that used to hit 80 degrees at some points.
I also don't see a need to go to the 820/4gb ram for the everyday user. I struggle to use 2gb of RAM on my flex 2 as it is, and have never had any performance problems with my 810. I'm rooted, on the 5.1.1 rooted AT&T KDZ, with a few hundred apps installed, and consider myself a power user. As far as I'm concerned, current phone is perfect.

My CPU normally levels out at about 43 degrees with moderate use but I would love a custom kernel to have a mess around with the reason the 820 and 4gb appeal to me is because multi tasking and gaming doesnt mix aswell on my flex 2 as it does with my z2, also it kinda future proofs the phone for me if the g flex 3 has unlocked bootloader and better support i wouldnt have a reason to replace it, whereas the flex 2 got slow updates a somewhat buggy UI and locked bootloader or i would be keeping my flex 2 as my daily driver

Thanks for the reply but 9008 is not the same as 9003, I tried with lg mobile, and any program that can flash a flex 2 and nothing

Im going back to Samsung as soon as the new Note drops
Also i read that LG was dropping the flex series to continue on with the V series... Guess thats false...
Also the whole modular gimmick is a turn off

820 is more power efficient (14nm vs 20nm).
