Hi
I have been searching for a post discussing this issue without luck. The EMUI 4.0 does not allow apps to show their own interactive notification icon, and shows instead a default ugly small icon that does not change.
For example, when I am using an app to show the date on the notification bar left side, what I get is the icon of the app and not the date. Another example is the Profile Scheduler App. Instead of seeing an interactive icon showing the current profile status, I see again only the default App icon all the time.
So, any solution for this without rooting?
I have the same problem
App like internet speed meter show only icon instead of numbers

Update to EMUI 4.1 (Rom version B3xx), interactive notification icon will work in 4.1.

I tried a bit more, it seems that number display doesn't work. Only messenger icons worked (showing contact pictures instead of app icon).
I also have the same problem on my P9 lite. Any update on this?
Same problem on my P9 its global problem and it will be not fix i think

Any idea how to make Signal Check Pro work? It will not show the band of LTE like on the Nexus 6P. Using NXT-L29 in US.

I read everywhere that this Good Lock app from Samsung is not good. I decided to give it a try and I am really impressed:
http://www.apkmirror.com/?s=Good+lock&post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk
- Customize the colors in a way that is great.
- Change lock widget. You can choose almost any widget.
- Categorize notifications. This feature should come with Android.
- Snooze a notification or keep it.
- it is highly customizable. It is possible to turn any feature on and off.
- it is possible to set different configurations depending the time of the day.
- Shortcut to recent apps
Give it a try. Generally I don't like bloated app. But this time I have to say that Samsung made a good job

I agree. Great stuff. So much customization, and they provide updates all the time based on community feedback.
I installed, set it up and the phone restarted by itself after sometime and the app is gone. Maybe because it is region locked? I really liked it tough.

No it does not. Of course if you are configuring for a long time, it is going to use battery. After you do it, it is normal. No battery eat.

Anyone know how to change the font colour on notification cards? I chose a pretty dark theme and lots of apps keep certain writing in black on the dark background, which looks kind of bad
Edit: I too feel like there's a bit more battery drain when the phone is in use. However I don't have any solid proof for now. Will monitor.

When you select a color theme at routines, you can drag and drop the derived colors. That defines background and font color.

Hi. how can i change default clock widget??
as i know, we only could add widget in lockscreen, but we can't change the lock widget. any solution??
I've installed the latest version of good lock and I have a couple of issues:
- most of the times, phone wake up is slow.. without good lock it's very fast.
- soundclound play controls are not visible in notification
- (minor) cannot change the lock screen wallpaper individually
- i feel the scroll is not that as smooth as before in apps (eg: facebook).
What i do like:
- better (stock) statusbar icons
- album art as lock screen (when song is playing)
- nicer notification togglers
- blur effect
Hope they will bring the N feel to the notifications shade.

Hi everyone, I have a simple question that bother me a bit. If I remember correctly, when I used for the first time this phone, I saw a black little banner at the top of the screen for an incoming call, like the ones for the notification s. Now, when I'm using it and I receive a call, there is no banner at the top (useful if I don't want to answer the call and keep doing my stuff), instead the call appear in the whole screen.
There is a way to add this banner for an incoming call?
Thank you in advance!

There is an option for the heads up notification under settings --> notification and control panel --> notification centre. From there you can modify different apps for the heads up notification, the lock screen notification and the status bar. I have this option for many apps such as what's app or Facebook, but there is no phone app. That's the main problem! And I remember at the beginning, when I had this phone for the first day, I could answer a call from this heads up notification. I also tried to turn all the listed apps on but without success.

I'm using the EMUI 5.0 beta, so it could be different. If it's not there try Settings -> Apps -> ... (at the bottom of the screen) -> Show system processes -> Dialer (scroll down the list to find it) -> Notifications. I remember that being the same in EMUI 4.1.

Ok, it's the same in EMUI 4.1. I find the process and, sadly, the notification "banner" is on.
I also discover when i'm watching a video on youtube or with the player video, the call actually appear in the pop-up notification, so maybe it work for every devices like that. Now i'm curious if it is the same for your phones. Do the pop-up notification appear only when you are watching a video and if u are doing different stuff it appear at full screen?
Unless the app that is sending the notification is the one running if you've got banners turned on you should see them.

Just received the Oreo update and i hate how the status bar is white. I cant see it with my group of wallpapers because I have nature outdoorsey images and I dont want to use dark wallpapers. Just annoying they gave you the feature to pick your own color for the always on display clock but not the status bar. I kid you not any sunlight on your wallpaper and its invisible I cant see any of the battery, volume, connection, wifi icons its transparent. I was wondering if there is a way to change the color or some apps or tools out there giving this feature to change the color for the status bar?
Same here, I can't see it.

Get actual Samsung Edge Lighting Notifications with any app while your screen is off!
Since we all know Samsung only did half the job with this feature, this app will enable you to trigger Edge Lighting (the real one !) when your screen is off. It works with any app by reading the app notification creating a new temporary notification that triggers edge lighting (you won't notice it in your notification list).
You can set custom color filters for your apps, based on their names.
Features:
Real Samsung Edge Lighting
Extremely minimal battery drain
No fake AOD Screen
Works with ANY app (including Messenger!)
Initial setup is a bit tedious, but that's mostly Samsung's fault.
Any suggestion to improve the app is -of course- welcome!
Download link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.zunder.edgelightingfixforallappsv2
Patch notes:
Users using a version priori to 1.2 need to install a new version of the app from the market (link updated in the first post)!
v1.24
Fixed an issue that caused the app to crash for some users.
v1.23
Added a custom icon feature for each app (Premium feature)
v1.22
Added a switch to enable/disable display of system apps in the list
v1.21
Fixed a switch display bug when using the search feature.
v1.2
Just to explain: I had to create a new app on Play store because, for whatever reason, the Play Console won't let me update the old one.
- New super sexy interface
- Filter search
- In-app support purchase to remove ads
v1.07
Added support for Do not Disturb mode. You can still bypass it in the notification parameters on my app, but there is no way so far I can make it work on a per application basis.
v1.06
Taping an app icon now now copies its name to the clipboard for faster filters setup.
v1.05
Added a detailed help screen
v1.04
Finally added an icon for the app
v1.03
Fixed the issue about the switches resetting when you scroll

When you choose your edge notification style, you should be able to pick a color. Set it as custom and add filters from notification titles (which are the source apps names the way they are displayed in my app)

For now, no I just implemented a basic Samsung Edge Lighting notification, so you got what they designed.
I will see how I can make the notfication repeat at a fixed interval set by the user. I'm just afraid it will be extremely battery hungry.

With my app, notifications shouldn't wake your screen up but give you an edge light.
When you get in the menu for custom color, you have to allow my app ("Edge Lighting for all Apps") to send Edge Lighting notifications.
Edit: do you understand that Edge Lighting will prevent notifications from turning the screen on but instead display some kind of edge light while keeping your screen off?

Bro I assume you are using EMUI 9.1. The option is still there. We can still mark notifications as read or reply to them from notifications. The options are not visible if you are using any dark theme. And options are not visible but they are still present there. Just try tapping a bit below the notification and you will get the options.
I think the font is also black which is the reason it blends in with the theme hence we are not able to view the option.
Hope this helps. Please post a screenshot next time so we will be able to understand the problem easily
