How to get a cwm recovery for gionee p3s - General Questions and Answers

I am trying to find a recovery for this phone for about a week. I have tried almost everything i could find in google and various forums, with no luck.
I have tried using mtk droid tools, magic twrp installer, carliv recovery and also cwm builder. But could not build any working recovery for my device.
Can someone tell me if it is possible to find any recovery (or build)?

The Xolo Q1000 Opus is sold in Vietnam as Mobiistar Lai 504Q. A vietnamese developer, minhdangoz, has made a semi working CWM for this device
Link To the Vietnamese Site (Use Google Translate )
This recovery is in Vietnamese.
To use builder.clockworkmod.com try the following steps.
1. Save stock recovery.img and boot.img from phone into PC.
2. Extract boot.img, because thats where you'll find recovery.fstab.
3. Use this file for graphics.c -> View attachment graphics.zip (This file is from minhdangoz's source code of his CWM port)
4. Use recovery.img from Step 1, recovery.fstab from Step 2 and graphics.c from Step 3
5. Build the CWM
6. Let me know how it goes
no help

we have a working CWM and TWRP for the Xolo thanks to @minhdangoz94 . I have tested it and it works.
nandroid backup works well.
you can find the CWM and TWRP here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2740261
i find it easy flash it from fastboot.. by adb reboot-bootloader
dd dump the stock recovery before hand as this CWM cannot flash Xolo updates.. It can only flash custom ROMs and ROMs from Mobiistar.
(The Mobiistar Lai 504Q sold in vietnam is the exact same phone as the Xolo Opus)
if Xolo releases update that you want to install.. flash xolo recovery first and then apply the xolo update.. for every other job that CWM is known for, this recovery works well. so you can flash it back after installing the update from Xolo.

It depends on the device you have.
On some devices, you can flash the TWRP recovery to file in CWM recovery.
On others it's different.
So please tell me which device/Model you have.
Its an mtk device tecno m5.
Assuming I have. The image file how do I flash it from cwm

As my team mate @KJ already explained:
I'm afraid there seems to be no info or threads on XDA about your device. So unfortunately I have nothing too helpful to point you to.
This would be the best section to ask about your issue and device...

Lenovo A3300 CWM or TWRP

Good day all. I have a Lenovo A3300 (A7-30) tablet. I have downloaded and installed Online Nandroid Backup and have created a backup for restore. I have scoured the net for a custom recovery and have failed to find one.
1.Has anyone come across a custom recovery?
2.Is there any way to flash a nandroid backup without a custom recovery?
3. Is there a generic custom recovery for a MTK8382 device running 4.2.2?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

No you can't. You can only use firmwares/ROMs/kernels/recoveries that were developed specifically for your device. If you attempt to flash a recovery for another device you run a very high risk of bricking your phone.

[Root][Recovery][TWRP] Alcatel OneTouch Flash 6042D

Hello friends!
Finally I was able to root Alcatel OneTouch Flash 6042D :good:
I've also created TWRP for this device using TWRP Easy Magic Installer. Thanks to all the guys who are involved in creating such an amazing tool. All the credit goes to them.
I've installed this recovery and flashed few zips using it and it works fine. Need to test it more.
Flashing steps:
0. Backup your phone using MTK Droid tools
1. Download the attached recovery.img file
2. Install using SP Flash tool (make sure you are rooted, if you are not rooted- refer this thread for rooting 6042d)
Note:
I or xda will not be responsible for any damage done to your phone.
In case you have any questions/ queries/ doubts post them here :highfive:
hey can you please re-post the thread for rooting the same. My browser won't load that page for some reason. Thanks.
oh yes

You can find the cwm backup and cwm recovery in needrom site. You can flash the cwm recovery via SP flash tools and then the cwm backup through recovery.

After some hesitation I rooted the 6042d. But the device is not detected in mtk droid tools to back it up. It is OK with spflash tools. Any advice please.

You need to press the key combination if I remember it correctly.
Search for it. And I hope you have the drivers installed
