Hello,
I am a noob in this one, I would want to flash a custom rom named Copperhead OS to my Nexus 5x.
There is a instruction for that provided by copperhead: copperhead. co but it is just not sufficed for me, I've never done this. I tried to look up for any tips on Youtube, but this rom is kind of different, there is a lot of files in the .zip file and I'm really confused about it :/ Hell, I don't even know how to do that:
'Verify the factory images using the GPG signature:
gpg --recv-keys F9E712E59AF5F22A
gpg --verify bullhead-factory-2016.05.03.18.54.15.tar.xz.sig bullhead-factory-2016.05.03.18.54.15.tar.xz'
Can anyone help me?
Big thanks !
Hi spinnaker7
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
A GPG verification is a security procedure to check if the content of the file you obtained is as expected by the publisher.
GNU Privacy Guard
You will find over the internet several applications dedicated to perform this procedure depending on the Operational System you are using. The developer is supposing the use of Linux like system and that seems to be your difficult.
At the moment I could find only one XDA thread regarding this ROM you refer and, unfortunately, that is all.
ROM COPPERHEAD OS - info
As so, I will invite you to post your request at the below forum, may be our experts there are able to help you more than I could.
Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Nice regards and good luck.

Same pinch!! Lov my C2♥
ikno all d above, i meant Kernel building, Rom building, porting... ukno wot i mean
Hi all.
First of all, I'm new of android developing, so please be patient with me
I've found this wonderful rom (Screw'd ROM) and I want to port it to the deivce I own, the Huawei Ascend G510.
But during build process, I had two error:
Code:
invalid conversion from 'ion_user_handle_t {aka int}' to 'ion_handle*
struct ion_allocation_data' has no member named heap_mask
If you want it I can provide the full output of the terminal.
I think that it's something with the device file.
I took the device files from another lollipop rom, here is the name of the Github account: SlimLPY300 (Slim-LP, the development is stopped)
Also we have Cyanogenmod12: CyanogenModY300
For what I know, we manage three huawei device: u8833 (y300), u951 (g510) and u8825 (g330) and the common things of these three device are in the "common blabla" project. Y300 and G510 are pratucally equal, and in fact in some roms there is only one download for this two devices.
I've alredy googled this errors, and I've found some thread BUT none of them solved the issue.
Does anyone can help me?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The purpose of XDA Assist is to point you in a direction that can help solve your problem. It is not to give technical help. There are a number of threads on XDA that deal with porting roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941239
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2769142
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598713
It would be best to ask your question in them.
Ok, thanks for the links.

Hello.
I have a problem ..... ¬_¬ obvious ... I made a backup of the phone with droidtools, but I did not create the "user data.img", "cache.img", "system.img" files .
And now I can not restore my phone. :crying::crying::crying:
And I've searched a lot, but there is no rom for my phone.
Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks in advance :good:
Note: Translated from Spanish by Google .....
Hola,
Bienvenidos a XDA.
If you were still on stock when you created your backup and you want stock back you can reflash your stock firmware via PC with whatever flashtool is compatible with your device. If you post your device model number I can at least get you pointed in the right direction to finding your answer.

Unfortunately, I am not finding any ROMs for you on XDA. You'll have to find your stock firmware by doing a google search using your device's model number, find it, get it downloaded and flash it from PC with whatever flashtool is for your device.
You can try posting in the forum linked below.

Good luck.

The tools you use will depend on your device, generally, Linux can be used for manipulating things like that on all android devices but the tools to make use of what you put together in Linux will depend on your device. How to use Linux to package things correctly for your device would be better answered by those that have your device, I am not familiar with your device so those kinds of things I couldn't tell you.
You should post your question in the link I gave you, the members there may have more answers for you than I do. There are too many kinds of android devices out there to learn them all, its best to find those that have learned that device.

Hello
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Each device has its peculiarities that should be noticed before installing a O.S. Even, as a learning playground, you will surely need to experiment with your own device. Given your report, we could not determine the Manufacturer & Model of your device in order to better approach your request.
I will have to ask you to create a new Thread where you could be as detailed as possible regarding your devices information and needs.
Nice regards and good luck.

My question is: what is a good website for learning the Android operating system online?
The reason I ask this is my searches turn up websites for writing apps to operate within the Android environment. Or how to replace accidentally wiped OS on users devices.
I want to be able to go inside the operating system and add/remove code, modify things, and investigate for things like carrierIQ etc.
Can someone please point me in a good direction (other than learning Java language)? Thanks in advance-
GD
PS my apologies if this is in the wrong forum etc
Anyone??
Ive been searching so Im not asking anyone to do my work for me. But if you know of good sites with tutorials re the android operating system please contribute-
Thanks
