Hi!
For some reason my WiFi tether just stopped from working on my honor 6 and I've been unable to find why
I can turn on the tethering but as the title says no device is able to connect to it. For example windows 10 just says "Can't connect to this network" and other android devices just
say "saved" and don't connect. I have only tried to change the change the SSID to a different one and have tried to tether with or without password as I really don't know what else to do.
Thanks for the help!

As the title says, my X10i does not connect to internet even though it displays "connected" in settings, can't access web pages and can't connect to Play Store...
My WiFi is working fine on my computers but not the phone whilst my phone seems to do fine with other wireless networks!!!
Is there anything I should change in my router settings???
Any help will be appreciated.... thanks in advance.
EDIT: It's working now... there's obviously a conflict between my phone and the other computers... once they're out my phone can connect normally!!!
At work we installed a new WiFi router a few months back. The connection is open and no one needs a password to connect to it. But many who bought android phones recently arent able to connect to it. I have a OnePlus One with android 4.4.4 which doesnt connect to the WiFi. My colleagues own Xiaomi, Motorola phones which they bought recently, which also doesnt connect to the internet.
The phones detect the WiFi signal, says the network is saved but fails to connect to it no matter what. The temporary solution is to make our laptop into a WiFi router and use it but this is seriously annoying. The router is from HP and I dont know the exam model number for it at the moment
I will be grateful if someone can find any solution for this problem. Also, I am a novice when it comes to gadgets so, if your suggestion is to manually set up my WiFi settings please do so with clear instructions or a video of some sort. However I will be happy if this problem gets solved in a straightforward manner.
Please help!

No need to configure wifi on your device IMO.
Sounds like an issue with the wifi router.
To check an fix the internet settings of the wifi router, you will need the adminstrative access/console/password for the router.
Then you can check that all new devices afre allowed to connect. On some routers you can restrict the access to a list of known devices or by enabling a MAC address filtering.
If you find such options on the HP wifi router, disable it and restart the wifi.
And make sure that the SSID of the wifi network is visible (= not hidden). Some Android devices have issue connecting to hidden networks.
Thread closed. Thank you.
I'm trying to connect my laptops, chromebook and windows 8 laptop, to my galaxy s5 hotspot but it won't connect. For the chromebook, i get DHCP lookup failed. For the win 8 laptop, it has limited connection but no internet access. Any help?
Restart both devices.
Okay. I restarted all devices but it still won't work. I get limited connection with no internet access. When I am connected, the device doesn't show up on the phone, instead, "Connected Device" is collapsed on the phone.
I'm on NK4 build, stock rooted.
Okay. I finally did factory data reset and it kept my root. It's now working. What's weird though is that I now have a section call tethering that was not there before. Anyone know what happened? I am still on 4.4.4.
Any solutions on how to get wifi hot spot to work.
I even tried starchildz rom and still not working. The hotspot shows up on my xbox one. When i go to connect it says unable to connect..
Found a solution for startchildz rom... pdanet works along with the pdanet unlock key.. .
I bought a straight talk Samsung galaxy j7 sky pro and can't find the hotspot if it even has one. So I installed a hotspot from the Google play store and it says I have to root before it can be used with this phone. Can someone please tell me what that is and how to fo it? I tried looking it up on Google but I couldn't make heads or tails of it.
This works
I have this phone for straight talk and i use PDAnet for android. If you have a laptop with hotspot capabilities, you can use PDAnet on there for a USB tether. The other alternative that might work for you ( did not work for me due to some dumb error) is FoxFi. FoxFi is compatible with PDAnet too. You can use a Bluetooth connection too for some devices.
Hope it works!
What does it matter what "hotspot" capabilities you have on any other device other than a standard wifi connection? And pdanet is used on the pc or other device? What exactly turns wifi hotspot feature on on this phone according to your solution?
So I was able to connect my windows laptop to the network but not my other android phone. I have PdaNet installed on it too. So if anyone has any tips on how to get android to Android to work with this phone pls advise. I'm using the j7 Sky Pro for straight talk

I also have a J7 sky pro and have noticed when trying to connect to a pdanet hot spot (using wifi direct hotspot on another device and connecting to it with the J7) that some devices have communication issues that are hit or miss. My wife has the galaxy note 9. When hers is used as the wifi direct hot spot it will connect to the network using WPS but pdanet bugs out or something. After wps process finishes it says "WPS complete, Waiting for wifi connection. It remains stalled out there. However I did manage to get it to sucessfully connect to it ONCE (1 out of about 400 attempts) I did manage to get it to connect outside of pdanet for internet connection by using the wifi connection settings and connecting to the network there but also hit the advanced options and then set the proxy to manual then used 192.168.49.1 as the proxy address & port 8000. that allowed me to gain internet with the j7. As i said though it so far has just been with the Note 9. A friend with an S9 set his up and I could connect to it just fine. So I don't know if it is pdanet actually nerking out and having issues or if it is the communication between the devices. If you are trying to use your J7 as the hotspot set it up as wifi direct instead of the foxfi hotspot then use connect to pdanet hotspot from the other device to connect to the the J7
