[Q] Galaxy Ace 2 i8160p Custom Rom

Good evening Everyone..
Recently i tried to change the stock rom of my galaxy ace 2 i8160p phone (Kyrillos ROM) and i ended up having a hardbricked phone. Today i got it back from the samsung service center and i can't help wondering if the failure of my device was caused because of the fact that Kyrillos ROM is made for the i8160L model and not for the i8160P model. If that fact is true does anyone know a custom rom for the i8160P model?
If the slight difference between the L and P model (NFC i think) did not cause the failure of the device (motherboard burnt) do you think that it would be wise to try more carefully this time to use Kyrillos ROm which is fantastic as i read on the web?
Thank you in advance...

so you are saying you want roms? try here mate http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1983&nocache=1&z=9759048468643416
i dont know the difference between the phones you could probably ask the rom developer if it will work for your device
The thing is not even the developer is sure whether his JB ROM is suited for my model,he is sure only that his GB ROM is ok but that is not enough because i want disk encryption provided only in the JB ROMs'
So any help concerning the matte would be highly appreciated.....
I'm in the same boat
Hi VisagenNoir,
I was wondering if you found an answer to your problem, since I also got back my phone from Samsung service as it got bricked after I flashed a custom rom ?

There are in a special thread for S7560/S7560M (Trend and Ace II x are the same phone with different names) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2019146
I've put in a suggestion to make a master thread called Samsung Galaxy Ace (all models incl. Trend) with a subforum for each model since they are different and incompatible as far as firmware, kernel etc. is concerned. There's not much out there yet, the only one that did a JellyBean (unsupported and buggy) and then a KitKat (4.4) firmware stopped since he switched to another model. I've tried the Kitkat but it's simply not finished and will probably never be unless other people take over and give the Ace 2x/Trend a go since it seems they seem to become very common as they are often sold in great bundles around the world.
My thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2605722
There are root-kits that flashes CWM-recovery while unrooting in a kit.
Even if your (and mine) phone is named Samsung Galaxy Trend you'll need to get used to call it a Galaxy Ace II x. This is the name of the rootkit with CWM-recovery: Galaxy_S_Ace_2_X_Root_kit.rar
And there are some ROMs (Australia and Guatemala versions with higher firmware version numbers) that can be flashed on any Trend/Ace II x since they aren't country locked or something like that.

thanks for your reply man but that thread was posted long time ago i already tried cm11 and cm10.2 for this device but now i manged somehow to fully brick this phone i cant enter in recovery or download mode when i try to turn it on the phone just shows the samsung galaxy trend and shuts down itself...dont know what to do i lost my warranty paper and threw away the box so i dont know what to do
Hmm, if vol up & down & home & power doesn't take you into recovery or vol down+power+home doesn't take you into download I'm not sure there's much you can do without leaving it to someone with a full JTAG-rig that can read and backup your system partitions (esp. the EFS partition that store your IMEI etc.) and reflash it with a stock ROM + stock partitions.

just search here on xda for s7560m galaxy ace 2x almost same phone model but these versions of cm are full of bugs so i'd suggest you to wait until a fully working version is released.

[Q] Rooting Kitkat stock (OTA) – note 2 GT N7100

Hi
Sorry if there is a similar thread, kindly provide a link if it is available.
I am Completely a knoob when it comes to rooting, have my note 2 for almost 6 months now i am on stock 4.4.2 (OTA) with knox, can any one tell me how to root and take efs and imei backup ( or can it be done without rooting) as well as to not trip knox and if OTA can still be received.
Questions
1. Will tripping knox harm the phone (physical or brick it forever – where to check knox counter?), i don’t care about warranty as the phone is more than a year old now.
2. Does the WiFi get affected or any other problem.
I would also like to flash Note 3 kitkat (stock) with S5 Mod is there a clear way to do this. By the way i have not done rooting or flashed other ROM’s before ever. I have searched through the forum but very confused as most have already rooted the phones before.
Sorry to post such a big question really like my phone and can’t afford another for some time.
If someone can help me i would really appreciate it. Thanks In advance.

[Completed] Speed Up Galaxy S Plus (GT-I9001)

My old galaxy S Plus has started to slow down in the recent days. I have updated it to the latest 2.3.6. I have already read about some sort of lag fix and converting to ext4 which could speed up.
I have planned to install the XXJVU (Leaked firmware) which I found on this guide:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/xxjvu-9399
Then I am going to root my phone using this guide:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-xxjvu-firmware-9412
Finally the lag fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784691
What do you think of the plan? What do you recommend ? If I root my phone will it work faster ? Is there anything else to speed up my phone ?
which ROM and Kernel work faster ? Which combination do you recommend ?
Hello
Welcome to XDA Assist
Sadly ,your plan is incorrect. All the steps you have outlined is for Galaxy S whereas you have Galaxy S Plus. Due to difference in chipsets and features ,executing your steps will lead to permanent brick .
Please check the beginner guide of Galaxy S Plus
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1578821
Read those threads and use the firmware for your phone only .(i9001 Galaxy S Plus)
Have a good day !
