Mate 8 definitively Bricked ? - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
First, sorry for my poor English.
I need your help on my device Huawei HUAWEI NXT-L29.
Since an attempt to update using dload method on the sd card, I get stuck on the Huawei logo at startup :
- Restart with Vol + and the Power button restarts the phone on the Huawei logo and does not appear to use the dload directory on the sdcard
- Restart with Vol+, Vol- and the Power button also sent me the Huawei logo
- Restart with Vol- and the power button returns me to the fastboot screen.
My phone was not unlocked :
The phone can not be unlocked with dc-unlocker in fastboot mode.
Huawei Support Site asks indefinitely to wait 14 days to get the code.
Should we consider the phone as permanently bricked?
Thank you all for your help.

Hello,i think this happened because you did not put the dload folder into the internal storage of the phone. Your only chance is to enter into recovery mode for a factory reset.

[Completed] [Q] Huawei Ascend G526 Bootloader Unlock Code!

Hi all, I am new to the XDA Forums and was just wondering if anyone can help me out with some trouble I'm having with my Huawei Ascend G526-L22.
Over the past few weeks, I have been finding it very hard to gain access to the 16-digit bootloader unlock code (usually Hex). After endlessly contacting Huawei in frustration attempting to gain access to a code that they had supposedly been giving out, I am left with a soft bricked phone.
The reason my phone is soft bricked is because I had become impatient and decided to "Kingo-root" (third party software) my device and it has sent it into a "Boot-loop" (upon boot the Huawei Ascend logo is at an endless standstill with the bottom buttons lighting up after 30 seconds)
I have tried:
- Holding all Buttons (Vol Up+Vol Down+Power) simultaneously for over 2 minutes
- Taken battery out countless times, left it out for 2 minutes inbetween, left Huawei Ascend screen on overnight to drain
- Attempted the 16-digit key in Fastboot (Vol Down+Power) only to find "Unlock Failed! Invalid key!" in the top right of the screen.
- Using DC Locker to try and unlock the phone (Ascend G526 not listed in models)
- Using EmotionUI (online Huawei Unlocking software) to unlock (again, Ascend G526 not listed in models)
- Attempted Update.app via ADB
- Attempted Update.app through external storage (only have 64gb card, phone recognises up to 32gb)
- Wiped cache, wipe data/factory reset countless times in System recovery (Vol Up+ Power) still stuck in "bootloop"
I know that all I need to to is gain access to an unlocked bootloader and I can safely get the device up and running, and I find it truly frustrating that Huawei (even after being claimed to) "can't provide the code because we stopped doing it in 2012".
If anyone has any tips to lead me in the right direction, or even get my phone up and running again (bootloader doesn't have to be unlocked) it would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks in advance,
-Ziggy.
Hi, thank you for Uganda XDA Assist. You most likely need to flash the stock firmware to get your device working again. Unfortunately, I can't find anyway to do that on XDA. See if you can Google that.

Hi mate,
first you need to turn off your phone then connect your usb cable from pc to your device and simonteniusly hold "volume down" key about few seconds and thats it, your device should boot into fastboot / bootloader mode
Thank you guys!
Now can you see my second post please?
I don't know how to relock the bootloader :/

@andreags4:
That should work with [Honor6] HONOR MultiTool
Just look for it here > xda-developers > Huawei Honor 6, Honor 6x > Honor 6, 6x General > [Honor6] HONOR MultiTool by VirusPlus:
Attention: Before you RELOCK Bootloader you need to restore the device's
software to official version using 3 buttons flash method.

No boot to Fastboot Mode after flashing/restore

Hi,
I was on Android N and decided to go back to KangVip Slim trough my TWRP Backup. So i opened the Bootloader again and flashed TWRP. But restoring of my backup failed and i started to wipe and delete in TWRP different things. I think i erased to much...
The result is, that now i the phone is booting to Huawei Logo and stucked there. All button-combinatios don't work.
No stock recovery, no dload method and the worst thing...no bootloader mode (USB connected to PC). The phone just reboot to the Huawei Logo.
I opened the phone, remove the battery cable, put it back, but it's still the same. I also discharged the battery and charged again. Same result, it boots just to the Huawei logo.
Is there any thing i could try to bring back to life or is it hardbricked?
Thanks in advance for any idea..
AL10 or L29,L09 to you have?
With AL10 version is easy to go back.
Install Android N again in Twrp.
Install Stock Recovery.
Go Back with Hi Suite.
Your open your Phone to reboot?
Press Power Button 10 sec. to reboot after reboot press 3 sec. to boot in eRecovery and shot down the Phone.
After Power off press Volume Down and hold and put in the Usb Cable in the Phone.
After this boot in Bootloader.
Flash Twrp for android N and wipe Cache,Dalvik,Data and System. Then flash Android N in Twrp.
Hi,
i have a L29. No TWRP, no bootloader mode to flash anything.
What happens when you switch off, then Power on and Press so long Volume up until the erecovery starts?
This must work!
Nothing, just reboot to the Huawei logo. I think there is no e-recovery installed.

Let me add one more step. Connect your phone to the computer via usb cable then switch off your phone. Press and hold Vol up + Power. Release it when you see Huawei logo.
Hope this will enable you to enter eRecovery.
Good luck
I tried that, but no success..
I think the Mate 8 is the first phone that i have brick...
I have the same issue too. L29. No TWRP, no bootloader mode to flash anything. Hopefully someone can guide us through this
Good news..
After I put the phone aside a few days and the battery has completely discharged, I connected the phone with my PC and tried to get into the fastboot mode.
I tried this before, without success. I was shocked when I saw the bright screen! It was in fastboot mode. I did not expect that. I left it untouched until the battery was charged a little bit.
Then i started to flash the NXT-L29C432B560 Firmware. It wasn't possible to do it with the "dload" method, so installed twrp-3.0.3.img and flashed the firmware with TWRP. For help use: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/how-to-install-nxt-l29c185b560-official-t3556789.
And now it works fine, like never something happend.
So all of you with same problem: Give it a try.
Now i have two babies.. Mate 8 and Mate 9. I will keep both....:good:
HI i have my mate 8 in the same conditons that you used to! please help me im desperate it doesnt even get on fastboot mode. Please I would appreciate your help thanks

Had this problem with L09. I've been trying to fix it all the week long.
If you can access dload mode, follow this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/huawei-mate-8-downgrade-android-7-0-to-t3530999
If your phone is not NXT-L09, search for NXT-XXX (XXX= your phone model) rollback. It will surely work.

P30 blocked at boot - How to access User data?

Hi all,
I need your help.
I've got in my hands a P30 (of a friend) that got stuck at boot last week. According to him the device just switched off and would refuse to boot correctly afterwards. Now the device has no physical damage and he could get the main board replaced under warranty but he has a lot of unsaved pictures on the device that he really wants to recover (even if that means voiding the warranty).
When powering on the device, first i get the "The device has loaded a different operating system" screen, followed by the "ERROR MODE" screen with :
Func NO : 13 (recovery image)
Error NO : 2 (boot failed in recoveryboot mode)
I can neither get into recovery nor e-recovery mode; all attempts end up at the ERROR MODE page.
The ONLY thing I was able to get working is fastboot mode. I this mode I go get fastboot to work from a PC and access the device. Hi-Suite however does not "find" the device.
Now as the device is not OEM unlocked, i presume that there is not much I can do in fastboot, right?
My friend would even be willing to send the device to a specialised lab (if that exists, for now I couldn't find any) but I am not sure if that would help anyway; I presume that the userdata partition is encrypted.
Any help / suggestions would be highly appreciated, again the main target being to recover the pics and videos from the device.
Thanks a lot.

Hi m8,
First of all, check for an recovery firmware through eRecovery. In order to do that, check my SS bellow (available on EMUI 9.1). Do as it says and let it download + install (if it's entering).
Second, if he has loaded EMUI 10, in order to enter eRecovery, Power OFF your device or Restart it. Then press simultaneously POWER+VOLUME UP and keep them pressed untill you see Huawei on screen. Release the POWER button and keep pressing VOLUME UP untill you are in eRecovery menu, then release button. When in menu, select Update mode, then select eRecovery mode then Update and recover system then Download update and recover. Connect it to Wi-Fi and it should start the update. At the end, it will restart to system.
Report back your result so i might help you if none of these 2 are working

When I try to boot into eRecovery I do get the first screen asking to press Vol+ for 3 seconds but after that I again end up on the Error screen.
Thanks anyway.

Use Fastboot in order to find out what version and cust he has. From my experience with other users (from P30 threads and P30 pro threads), if they had EMUI 10 on top of EMUI 9.1 preload and cust, some of them could acces the EMUI 9.1 eRecovery from where they could enter some safe mode called Emergency backup which got them into system and managed to get connected to PC (see my SS bellow) or their Google account and create a backup of their stuffs.
For how to find out his device and info (what he has on it know), please check this link and use the following commands:
fastboot oem get-build-number
and press enter button
This command checks the version, cust and actual firmware of the phone.
If this still not working, i'm affraid that there is nothing else he could do, just have to use a dload firmware in order to revive his device, but by doing it, it will wipe out his data. Even if Huawei Service Centers change his motherboard, they can't recover his data from his actual motherboard...
Let me know his cust and if he is willing to flash a firmware in order to revive it, BUT with data lost, so i can get you a dload firmware for his phone.

Hi SilviuO,
thanks for your help and sorry for the late feedback. Was out of the office these last days and the device was in the office.
Fastboot gives me the following : 9.1.0.168 (C431)
Thanks

Help Please :)

Hello Friends
My Honor 8 is broken after power down due to empty battery.
eRecovery is not working
Phone is not rooted.
my bootloader isn't unlocked.
Is it possible to Unlock Bootloader from Sdcard?
Cant come in the phone to turn on usb debugging .
Is it possible ?
You can boot into recovery using EMUI Factory reset (keep pressed Volume Up and Power button, having previously phone powered down) - for this you don't need to unlock anything.
