Hi everyone, just a quick help for some people that might flash marshmallow rom on their huawei mate 7 phone and didn't get the app drawer (in case you want it)
Well you can easily get it by changing the default launcher from huawei and use Google now launcher..
All you need is, to download the launcher from the play store and then go to settings-apps-default apps settings where you will see the huawei launcher and just choose the Google now launcher that we just download.
Hope it helps a bit.. CHEERS
You can install pretty much any launcher you want. It doesn't need to be the Google one.......
IMO, Google Now is horrible when standard. Barely any settings to tailor it to taste.
You can install an app drawer application and use it with the Huawei Launcher and it would be better to use than with Google Now Launcher.
This one has minimal permissions and works well.

I use this launcher. Very nice!

Hey guys,
I'm currently using the Google Now Launcher, I really used to love the big & clear icons.
Lately I gave Nova Launcher a try and I really like it - you can add more icons to your homescreen,
the icons are smaller and customizable.
I think I'll switch to Nova.
What's your launcher of choice?
Nova no doubt it.

haha, why no doubt? google now launcher is pretty good. very stable as well.
don't you think?
Nova is much more customizable and it allows you to disable animations. It feels faster than Google Launcher, but Google Launcher falls in with a close second place to me.
I run 100% stock these days, don't even unlock the bootloader. Android in it's current state doesn't need anything else IMO
Huawei home ( no apk drawer ) - fast rock solid.
Apus launcher is replacement is fine too.
Try inspire i started using it with nexus 5 kii kat. It still keeps some of the originality the google launcher has including the google now page !!!
Omni launcher
Nova ftw!
Stock.
I'm using aviate and quite like the change.
Nova launcher for me. Swipe gestures are something I've gotten too used to now to go back to GEL.

Google Now Launcher with XGELS.
The developer of XGELS is doing a really great job at implementing popular features from other launchers such as Nova.
Looking forward to seeing what future updates bring!

Another one for stock GNL with XGELS.
Im new to xda and i just wanted to share something i found about android wear.
i was installing various android launchers on my LG G watch with no luck (when i selected them they said they quit unexpectedly)
i tried zeam launcher, ADW launcher, holo launcher, go launcher and the stock motoactv launcher (i did try all of these on my motoactv to test if they work on a small screen and on my phone to test if they support lollipop and they worked)
then i found a launcher called barebone launcher and it worked however because it JUST launches apps (no widgets, no custom wallpapers) that's why it doesn't crash.
video - watch?v=4g2PqDTeglw (paste in URL bar after YouTube because im not allowed to share links yet or search lg g watch with barebone launcher on youtube)
Sorry if this post is in the wrong place i just wanted to share a working normal android launcher on android wear
Cool

Well, this just provides me a good headstart with my just received LG G Watch. Should try on the barebone launcher as mentioned.
I tried a few alternate launchers and found it drains my battery pretty quick since they run constantly. I ended up just getting used to the stock launcher.
If you install purifiy (via adb) it kills background apps automatically saving the battery (you need to go into purifiys settings and add 3rd party watch faces to the ignore list

Do you have tried Mini launcher?
I have found this really useful. You can take a look on it.
What one

Hi all, my Greenify (non-root) keeps losing access to the accessability service for some reason. When I activate auto-hibernate, every time it attempts to force close an app it asks me to enable the accessability service, no matter how many times I do this. Any ideas??
you have to let the apps run in background. in the security menu

To try different launchers is really fun.
I have come the conclusion that aphex launches runs much smoother on mate 7 it is mostly visible with the animations when open or switching app, while most other launchers are not as smooth aphex works best..this is a deal killer... Open app animations is the most important aspect.
Otherwise I like dodol launcher mostly because the good widgets but also fast, but their is no customization for open app animations..
I wish I could run the dodol widgets in aphex.. Especially the search widget is perfect, I use it to search apps and Contacts really fast to find why you are looking for.. And it is transparent... Does any one know any similar widget? That is transparent too?
Google now launcher is the only launcher that does not work on mate 7... So the only conclusion I can draw is that Huawei have with intention blocked Google now launcher... It would be fun to try... How smoothness compare...
For me it all boils down to which launcher gives the fastest and a smothest animations with the weak GPU that mate 7 have.
i just ordered an f1
has anyone used a different launcher on it? ive heard it mentioned in reviews but nothing definite
I use smart launcher pro and works well. Only issue is sometimes after a reboot the colour OS launcher kicks in as default.

Make sure you go into app management and default apps and select your preffered launcher as default. IMO, it's actually a better way to do it than other phones where you just start the launcher and wait for the OS to ask which one is to be default.
I also use Smart Launcher Pro on both my phones, and my wife's. I regularly try different launchers but always come back to SL Pro. It's elegantly simple but hiding some pretty good customisation tweaks and that app drawer is the best I've ever seen.

I installed Ubuntu theme as that is how to get the nicer icons in the app drawer tabs.

In my Find 7 I also have the MIUI Icon pack applied to homescreen and app grid.

For a nice clock I have Digital Clock Widget Xperia.

Set a nice wallpaper (I have a bright Lollipop one).
The phone looks stylish and well integrated with theming, like it came that way from Oppo.
If you must use the ColorOS launcher, you can install an app drawer app from Google Play instead of having to sort through pages of homescreens with a bunch of icons and folders.
I have this one in my oppo Find 7 for the rare times when I use the ColorOS launcher.

Simple, small and has barebones permission needs.
About to pick up my P9 (yay!)
Are you guys sticking with EMUI or using a custom Launcher?
I'm currently rocking a Nexus 6 and love stock Android so am thinking of going with Google Now Launcher.
What do you lot use?
I'm sticking with EMUIs launcher as I like it and that it allows me to hide any annoying bloat apps that I cant uninstall as I don't wish to void warranty yet to remove them. I like googles launcher but all the apps will be shown.
To change default launcher when you get your phone:
1. settings
2. apps
3. advanced
4. default app settings
5. launcher
6. select google launcher to change
Personally its up to you to decide whether you like EMUI and want to keep using its' launcher or whether to replace it.
Thanks.
I've already started using Google Now. I agre, it is annoying that I can't yet remove the Huawei apps I don't want but I guess for now I can deal with that.
EMUI is nice but coming from my Nexus 6 I just want that stock feel. Haven't removed the squared/rounded app icon edges yet.
So far though LOVING this device.
I prefer Google now. I ran into a problem with it though with regards to icons not changing if I selected a new theme.
To override this go to settings > apps > Google app > storage > manage space > clear launcher data will allow the icons to be changed as clearing data/cache of Google now launcher did not seem to do the trick.
I've gone back to EMUI.
I noticed (maybe you can test this too) that when listening to music through my headphones, if I pressed the home button (or tapped on any icons) the music would skip and it ALWAYS did it.
It doesn't do it when using EMUI as the launcher.
I'm using Nova as it get's close to the stock Google Now launcher but still have personnalisation options like gestures, etc
