my phone - General Topics

Hi guys, I’m from China , and I have the phone P9 EVA-AL00(3G/32G) dual sim
I’ve unlocked my phone and flashed the ROM B168 version edited by Kangvip who is famous in Huawei forum, before I flashed my phone I followed the instruction backup the “System” “cust” and “boot” totally three folders of original ROM (also B168 version) with TWRP,
I think this can help us go back to the original System and OTA to the newest version.

Could you send me the method for Unlocking Bootloader, Installing Recovery, Rooting Phone, and then maybe installing a custom ROM if you have time? I have the EVA-AL00 also. I would like to install the European variant software. BETA Nougat 7.0 and 5.0 EMUI. Please let me know. Thanks again.

im using international rom, and flashing chinese rom...
so i think its possible for you too...
as long as you made your backup using twrp or cwm youll be fine....please made a backup first
method used
flash directly from local update
if fail, you must root your phone before you can flash
flash boot.img, recovery.img, system.img , cust.img using fastboot
you should be ok after flashing this
if bricked or cannot boot, reinstall your cwm or twrp, and install your backup
I have the same situation. I made some trials and here are the results;
I was on Chinese version B250. I udated manually to Chinese version B260 and this was successful.
I unlocked my bootloader successfully.
All trials to flash the International version B324 with Lollipop and (EMUI 3.1) have failed. I even tried with a relocked bootloader but still the same. No root or custom recovery; all stock.
Of note that I could successfully flash the International version B142 which is a Kitkat and (EMUI 3.0) but could never update to the succeeding update OTA although it is being downloaded successfully by the Huawei updater.
All flashing was through virusplus Multi-tool
These are my observations. If anyone has a better input regarding fully flashing a Chinese PE-TL10 with an International firmware with working OTA updates later on then please share it.
Thank you

How to update my H60-L04 from Kitkat 4.4.4 Custom ROM to latest EMUI/Android

Hi everyone,
after I bought my H60-L04 about a 1,5 years ago, I unlocked/rooted my device and installed a Custom ROM (Liquidsmooth v3.2). Since that day, I didnt change anything regarding OS/ROM.
Now I want to change things up, either testing the new official update or installing a ROM thats based on a newer Android version. Using the search I saw different approaches, some people saying I need to install an old version of EMUI (2.3?) first. I don't want to brick my phone and I dont have much experience with ROMs in general. Can someone please give me a short guideline on what to do?
Thanks in advance!

Download the firmware you want to try (LP or MM), use huawei update extractor to extract recovery, boot, Cust and system images from UPDATE.APP (you will get it from firmware). Meanwhile make a dload folder in your SD card and copy update into it.
Flash the images to your phone using fastboot.
Fastboot Flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot flash Cust Cust.img
Fastboot flash system system.img
Press and hold power, vol up, vol down until the phone reboots. Let go of power but keep pressing the other two for 5,6 sec more. A forced update will start.
YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA SO MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING THIS.

Just make sure you full unroot your device and flash stock recovery before updating. Or you will end up with a bootloop.
You may use Multitool app.
Thanks for you help, guys. My problem was that I used an old version of MultiTool and my adb-drivers didn't work.
Using your instructions I managed to install stock recovery and EMUI 4.0

No problem. It is always a good idea to factory reset after a new ROM. And wipe clean SDcard.

Install a working TWRP on Nougat and Root, also i need the stock rom

Hey guys, how can i check which Honor 8 FDR i have?? I want to roll back to android 6 if i cant succeed rooting android 7 https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/firmware-huawei-honor-8-stock-firmware-t3470454 which rom is for my phone and what android version they are?
I can only see that is the model it says nxt-l29 its a Europe model i guess since it has multi-language support.
Every time i boot into the TWRP i can't see anything on the storage so i cannot install SuperSu, i have tried several recoveries like from this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-tested-root-t3443946

Question about rebrand mate9

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking about rebrand my mate 9 Chinese version to an international version.
I found that there is a thread in development forum about all the OEM info backup from twrp.
I just wonder that if I restored one of them in twrp, can I simply use erecovery to download and flash the latest version of the related emui?
Anybody tested it?
And I am on oreo, if I flash the nougat oeminfo, will ercovery work properly?
Thanks.

[Need Help] I need to install Oreo (EMUI 8.0) Stock ROM in Mate 9 using TWRP 3.2.1-0

Hi folks. Sorry if this topic has been covered before. I really tried to find threads with a solution but I wasn't able to get specific answers. Kindly help me out.
This is the current status of my Huawei Mate 9 - MHA-l29
My Huawei Mate 9, MHA- L29 is working okay, aside from a few bugs I noticed after upgrading to Oreo (EMUI 8.0) using TWRP last year (a previous version)
I am running Android 8.0 Oreo. The version reads System 8.0.0.42(00YC) when I check in the "About Phone Section". When I check this version using HiSuite, it tells me that is the official one.
I have unlocked the bootloader FRP...basically everything is unlocked.
I have installed TWRP version 3.2.1-0
I suspect I may have accidentally wiped out the recovery for my device, so if I tried to do a factory reset, it may not work. That is why I wanted to just do a fresh installation of STOCK ROM for Oreo.
Now this is what I need help to do.
I wanted to do a fresh installation of the stock ROM for Oreo (8.0) for my Mate 9 device. I figure stock ROM will be more stable and it will be the official one anyway.
The reason I want to do a fresh install is because I noticed the current version has a few bugs that kept recurring whenever I did a factory reset (issues with themes, calendar, etc).
I wanted to know if I can use TWRP 3.2.1 (currently installed) to do an installation of Oreo stock ROM for my mate 9 using maybe the SD Card. I saw somewhere that I can simply copy the files to the SD card and then use TWRP 3.2.1-0 to do an installation.
If the above is possible, what do I need to do?
If it is not possible to use TWRP 3.2.1, what can I do instead so that I install a new stock ROM without bricking the phone? Please assist.
Thank you in advance for your time and help.
