Anyone had this problem? Speaker phone works fine though. Also when recording video only audio is the same static, unless I have headphones plugged in then audio is fine.
It's on marshmallow. I have re enabled all apps and tried restarting and still have the problem.
Would re flashing lollipop or moar possibly fix it? This really sucks I got the phone of swappa 2 weeks ago and it's been perfect until today.
Sounds like a bad primary microphone hence device uses different microphone on the headphones. Call sprint and add insurance then get it fixed at a repair center.

Bluetooth - Call Waiting Beep
Bluetooth seems to work great, especially now with A2DP working properly... yet i do not hear a BEEP when someone else is calling over Bluetooth if i am on another call... if im not looking at my phone i miss the call. Anyone know if this is a known issue? or if there is a fix?
on top of that, I like it when the bluetooth plays the ringtone. That was the case on my old blackberry flip phone. Is this not a standard?

I'm running stock Froyo, and when using BT and on a call and another call comes in, I get a beep that sounds like a dtmf key press. It confused me the first couple times...
I've noticed that the beep actually comes through on Bluetooth... but on the handset itself? Any ideas?

Hi,
I have scoured various forums and haven't found a workable solution.
My Rogers SII LTE has noticably low call volume. It's mostly when using the handset, but even with earphones. Music and other audio is fine.
It's especially bad when I try to use any VoIP apps, cannot hear the other side at all if there is background noise.
I have been into a service mode, but the audio adjustments do not seem to save.
Anyone else having this issue? Or better, a fix?
thx
No one else with an SII with problems hearing callers?
Maybe something is wrong with your handset? I have no audio issues at all in calls, even on various ROMs.

thanks for the reply. You might be right. I am having occasional USB charging issues also, might be related.
Looks like its mostly when using voip apps. Can't explain it.

Same problem here.
Often I have to turn volume up to max to get a "normal" call volume.
I have a similar issue... Voice calls on my headset are very light on both ends of the call. I have to yell for the other end to hear me clearly

It's a problem with the software that comes on the phone. When I switched to ics that problem went away for me.

Hey guys I'm running the cataclysm ROM with Franco r25 kernel. Every time I'm on the phone with someone they say I sound very muffled. But when I do a audio recording of myself it sounds clear. I'm also on T-Mobile. Would it be T-Mobile or the phone?

This could be one of a few things:
1. It could be your network
2. You may be speaking wry loudly into the microphone
3. It could be a microphone issue like other people are having.
Personally I would believe it's a software issue that Google will hopefully address soon.

Here's the thing my fiance and I are both in T-Mobile. She hears me very as if I "put a pillow on top of my phone" so she says. When I talk to others they say the same thing. Now here's the weird thing when I record a voice memo it sounds crystal clear. I would think if the voice memos sound good. Then phone calls should sound good as well.

Do you wear a hat or something or maybe you are covering the top microphone with your finger? I heard that complaint when i'm laying in bed with the phone pushed up against the pillow.
Hello,
I have been searching for a fix to a issue that I have been having since earlier today. It seems there have been others who have this issue but the solutions provided don't seem to be working for me.
My phone is a Verizon variant of the Galaxy S6 (64GB) currently rooted and running Clean Rom 1.5 (OE2). Everything was working fine yesterday until today when I tried to make a call, I noticed the speakerphone turned on by itself. I touched the speakerphone icon and it turned off and I proceeded with my call. Later on I tried to initiate another call and the speakerphone turned on again. It was then I realized there was something wrong.
I really don't want to factory reset because of the amount of time it consumes. I've tried everything from disabling the speakerphone option in S-Voice, cleaning out the USB port, several reboots and so forth.
I am getting the feeling that it may have something software related. When I try to make a call from a Bluetooth connected device it activates the speakerphone and then I would have to transfer the call over to Bluetooth.
I remember I had an issue related to GPS not turning on back when I was using my S4. Somebody provided a fix via SQL editor. Wondering if this would be able to be fixed the same way.
Please anyone if you can lend your support or any remedies that might be able to fix this.
Thanks in advance,

Seems like I fixed it. I just blew into my USB port really hard a few times and I think my phone made the docking sound for when you dock your phone and undock it. Just tested a few calls and it did not activate the speakerphone. Glad it wasn't anything complicated..

I'm having the same issue. Cleaning out the usb port did not work. Anyone know any other solutions?

Try turning off the phone and then taking a small piece of paper or like the corner of a business card and carefully/gently pull out the dust in the USB port. Do that with a combination of blowing into it. Took me a few tries before it fixed itself.

Check your application's. I had that issue and found it to be a default option on my call recorder app being the issue.
Hopefully it's that simple. Good luck ?

Where is the call recorder app? I can't seem to find it.
It would be something you installed yourself. I'd check any type of (self installed) dialer app, call recorder app or call blocking app settings. If you haven't personally installed any of these then unfortunately I'm out of ideas ?

Hi there. I got this old xperia z3 from my brother. I have this weird problem. The mic doesnt work on calls EXCEPT when im on speaker phone. It also does work on the Audio Recorder app of sony xperia from playstore. Has someone experienced this issue? Is my mic faulty?
EDIT: The phone is at latest .575 MM Stock Unrooted rom. Also disabled ok google. Tried restarting and resetting the phono. Doesnt seem to work
Check the service menu and try both microphones, this phone has 2 mics and one may be not working properly.
I have the same issue but with the top microphone not working well, I can't call using the speaker.

My primary mic seems to be faulty. The secondary at top is the only one working. Have you taken your z3 to the service center or to your local repair shops?

U could use some earphones with mic or, if your phone doesn't have warranty anymore, take it to a repair shop, that piece costs cents
EDIT
or, it might just be some dirt in the mic hole
