Hello,
I have been searching for a fix to a issue that I have been having since earlier today. It seems there have been others who have this issue but the solutions provided don't seem to be working for me.
My phone is a Verizon variant of the Galaxy S6 (64GB) currently rooted and running Clean Rom 1.5 (OE2). Everything was working fine yesterday until today when I tried to make a call, I noticed the speakerphone turned on by itself. I touched the speakerphone icon and it turned off and I proceeded with my call. Later on I tried to initiate another call and the speakerphone turned on again. It was then I realized there was something wrong.
I really don't want to factory reset because of the amount of time it consumes. I've tried everything from disabling the speakerphone option in S-Voice, cleaning out the USB port, several reboots and so forth.
I am getting the feeling that it may have something software related. When I try to make a call from a Bluetooth connected device it activates the speakerphone and then I would have to transfer the call over to Bluetooth.
I remember I had an issue related to GPS not turning on back when I was using my S4. Somebody provided a fix via SQL editor. Wondering if this would be able to be fixed the same way.
Please anyone if you can lend your support or any remedies that might be able to fix this.
Thanks in advance,

Seems like I fixed it. I just blew into my USB port really hard a few times and I think my phone made the docking sound for when you dock your phone and undock it. Just tested a few calls and it did not activate the speakerphone. Glad it wasn't anything complicated..

I'm having the same issue. Cleaning out the usb port did not work. Anyone know any other solutions?

Try turning off the phone and then taking a small piece of paper or like the corner of a business card and carefully/gently pull out the dust in the USB port. Do that with a combination of blowing into it. Took me a few tries before it fixed itself.

Check your application's. I had that issue and found it to be a default option on my call recorder app being the issue.
Hopefully it's that simple. Good luck ?

Where is the call recorder app? I can't seem to find it.
It would be something you installed yourself. I'd check any type of (self installed) dialer app, call recorder app or call blocking app settings. If you haven't personally installed any of these then unfortunately I'm out of ideas ?

Hi,
I have scoured various forums and haven't found a workable solution.
My Rogers SII LTE has noticably low call volume. It's mostly when using the handset, but even with earphones. Music and other audio is fine.
It's especially bad when I try to use any VoIP apps, cannot hear the other side at all if there is background noise.
I have been into a service mode, but the audio adjustments do not seem to save.
Anyone else having this issue? Or better, a fix?
thx
No one else with an SII with problems hearing callers?
Maybe something is wrong with your handset? I have no audio issues at all in calls, even on various ROMs.

thanks for the reply. You might be right. I am having occasional USB charging issues also, might be related.
Looks like its mostly when using voip apps. Can't explain it.

Same problem here.
Often I have to turn volume up to max to get a "normal" call volume.
I have a similar issue... Voice calls on my headset are very light on both ends of the call. I have to yell for the other end to hear me clearly

It's a problem with the software that comes on the phone. When I switched to ics that problem went away for me.

Not sure what my problem is but this is the 4th droid maxx that I have gone through now where the microphone on the phone will all of the sudden stop working. If I use bluetooth or a headphones with a mic it works just fine but if I am trying to just use my handset no one can here me. I had thought that it had something to do with my headphones that I was using but I was using the handset and after a phone call it all of the sudden the next phone call that came in they could not here me. I have also tried being on bluetooth and then changing it back to the handset and that doesnt work. I dont know what to do I like the phone so much but verizon told me that i would have to switch to a different one if I wanted to replace it again.
Could it be an app? Have you tried it just with everything default for a day or two? Not adding any apps or accounts except gmail? You could try starting there.

No its not an app because on my third phone that I had it only lasted a day before it even started I did a factory reset and cleared everything off and still the same issue.
Does anyone else experience this? Sometimes I'll make a call, or get a call and neither the caller or myself can hear anything. After a second attempt things seem fine. The problem is intermittent. Anyone else get this?

I am returning my Sprint GS5, They can't get my phone to take calls. My phone goes straight to voicemail.I told them i don't want it anymore.
When I get a call it's like that. Taking it back tomorrow. It's spotty and intermittent at best. Disappointed so far. Hopefully the replacement will work

OK... Updated to marshmallow, did a factory reset. Then did my normal device setup and connect my device via Bluetooth to an external speaker, headset and to my truck. Everything works except media files. I've read through the forums and see no mention of it. But when I googled it, it comes up on one website with no solution other then waiting for another system update. Has anyone else experienced this and has been a solution found.

Update... Resetting my devices to include my truck for the tenth time, seemed to work. I'll find out tomorrow.

Update 2.... Still have a bug. Had to reset all devices this morning and re-pair for media files to be heard.

Same here marshmallow update no media audio 2015 Chevy mylink. I have to delete and pair. Phone calls do work. Other bluetooth devices seem to work. Just my vehicle.

You might take it to your carrier to see if they can reflash lolliepop for you. If they can, i can guide you on how to get a cleaner install of marshmellow.

My device upgrade through OTA... There's a cleaner way to do it?... honestly between the dialer bug and not connecting via blue tooth..I may just trade my phone in.

There is a cleaner way, but nothing beats a new phone, and with it rendering your bluetooth almost useless they should trade it out no problem, or they may try to reflash LP or MM. Depends if they have the equipment and how much work they wanna do.

Anyone had this problem? Speaker phone works fine though. Also when recording video only audio is the same static, unless I have headphones plugged in then audio is fine.
It's on marshmallow. I have re enabled all apps and tried restarting and still have the problem.
Would re flashing lollipop or moar possibly fix it? This really sucks I got the phone of swappa 2 weeks ago and it's been perfect until today.
Sounds like a bad primary microphone hence device uses different microphone on the headphones. Call sprint and add insurance then get it fixed at a repair center.
