Trick into charging - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

Is there a way to trick the Note 5 into thinking it's charging? Or at least trick Google now into thinking it's charging so that you can use it from the lock screen?

That made no sense at all.. I don't even know what he's asking.. Trick it into charging for what?! Lol It should charge no matter what if it's plugged in so what's to trick?

I think he wants to use google now from lockscreen.
You can change it in the settings-> voice-> ok google detection

Yes' you put it on a wireless charging pad. The phone is then tricked into thinking its charging when you didnt plug in the mirco usb wire

No, trick the phone into thinking it's charging even when it's not charging so that you can use Google now from the lock screen without the phone being charged.

You can use a third-party launcher

Really overclock? Do you know of which one has that option?

I got it!
In voice settings, allow personal results, this should allow you to use google now from your lockscreen.

I just tried that, doesn't work.

No More Smartactions?

Noticed in the Play Store the Smartactions app is no longer a choice for the Ultra.
Any way I can get GPS to turn on automatically when connected to Bluetooth?

I believe you can use the new APP called Assit to setup the driving profile. If you are traveling fast or have the dock it will automatically turn on the GPS and Bluetooth.
Its really new to me .. so I dont know how to customize yet...

I've been using Assist. It's working, but for some odd reason when I'm in driving mode it's not announcing caller names even though I have that option checked.

I use llama it is free and much easier to use then tasker I am not sure if it will do what you want but it has a boat load of options. I use it to shut off data when the screen is off to conserve battery life. Not that battery life is much of an issue with the Maxx anymore.

Wireless Charging while using USB-OTG

I guys, today I tried to Wireless Charge while using the USB-OTG to copy some files (practically, it makes sense for me, since there is no need to connect the cable to the Nexus, we could be using that port to USB-OTG and charge at the same time).
I was surprised when it didn't work. I can't understand why would they implement this. Since it's not charging from cable, it could be charging by wireless...
It's not a defect from mine, right?
Anyway, thanks for your attention.

It's not a defect. You need a custom kernel that supports Qi Charging while using USB OTG if you want that.
Are you sure it's a kernel limitation? Do you know any that supports it?

May not be a hardware limitation. But probably a very low priority for implementation
One way I've try to offset this limitation is to plug my OTG cable into a powered USB hub. All attached USB devices use the hub for power greatly reducing the battery drain on the phone/tablet.

Questions about Verizon version

Since Verizon always changes a few things on our devices from the international/other us versions. Anyone come across any weird changes that they removed or added?
I had a S4 a while back and had to root to re-enable infinite scroll of the home screen and apps list. Is that still the case? Or is it an option again in the settings?
When charging using qi charging does the screen come on and make a tone when you get to 100%. It would do this in kit kat even under silent mode with the s4. But since its lollipop does it do it in priority mode?
I'm sure most of the Verizon bloat is able to be disabled.
Missing stock Samsung browser, smart manager app.
Also no free 100 gb of one drive storage. And yes I saw someone else post the screen does come on at 100% wireless charging and then it goes down and comes on agai. When back to full. Seems really annoying. Not sure if with everyone or just Verizon version though. Someguyposted about it in another thread

The 100gb free one drive storage is pretty annoying. Also what about Smart Share I think it's called? Where u can view all your cloud photos in one place. Can't seem to find that.

Does the verizon version have the setting where you can encrypt your phone along with some other stuff
I saw some setting about encrypting data so I'd say yes

No Bluetooth audio

OK... Updated to marshmallow, did a factory reset. Then did my normal device setup and connect my device via Bluetooth to an external speaker, headset and to my truck. Everything works except media files. I've read through the forums and see no mention of it. But when I googled it, it comes up on one website with no solution other then waiting for another system update. Has anyone else experienced this and has been a solution found.

Update... Resetting my devices to include my truck for the tenth time, seemed to work. I'll find out tomorrow.

Update 2.... Still have a bug. Had to reset all devices this morning and re-pair for media files to be heard.

You might take it to your carrier to see if they can reflash lolliepop for you. If they can, i can guide you on how to get a cleaner install of marshmellow.

My device upgrade through OTA... There's a cleaner way to do it?... honestly between the dialer bug and not connecting via blue tooth..I may just trade my phone in.

There is a cleaner way, but nothing beats a new phone, and with it rendering your bluetooth almost useless they should trade it out no problem, or they may try to reflash LP or MM. Depends if they have the equipment and how much work they wanna do.
