Huawei Contacts crashing - Huawei MediaPad X2

Sometimes Huawei Contacts crash (fc) after selecting One contact.
Does anyone else have this issue, and was able to fix.
I have installed a alternative Contact app, and no problems with it.

[Q] Contacts force close when Facebook sync on.

I installed CM7.1.0 stable and it is great except for one thing. When Facebook app syncs contacts I can't open contact details. It force closes on me on every contact that has a Facebook. When I disable sync contacts in Facebook, no more force closes in contacts. I'm using T-Mobile G2X. I've tried fixing permissions, re installing Facebook App.
Anyone else run into similar issue? Any solutions?
FIXED!!! It was the Google+ app 2.0 (the one that leaked out last week)
Once I removed it, no more force close in contacts.
You're a saviour man. I was dying to find out what the problem was. Uninstalled G+ 2.0 and everything is fine now. Cheers!

[Q] No Gmail notification on lockscreen (5.1.1)

After updating to 5.1 .1 (manual update) I cannot find a way to turn on lockscreen notification for Gmail (= in notification center Gmail does not show up in the application list).
Quite annoying, as I used to getting Gmail notifications under 4.4 (with NiLS widget).
- turning on built in 'email' notification is not a solution to me (I don't want to use the Huawei mail app, but want to stay with Gmail)
- unistalling (actually not possible; rather disabling and re-enabling) the Gmail app does not help
- downloading, installing Inbox solves the issue, as I can get Gmail lockscreen notifications from Inbox -but as I use Gmail for my business account, the completely random, chaotic design of Inbox does not suit my life..
- and please, don't advice the standard 'do a factory reset' ; it does not solve the issue.
Any further ideas, suggestions on this issue, please? I really do miss Gmail notifications on my lockscreen.
Hi, got same issue with my new Honor 7. No gmail notifications on LockScreen, gmail and many other pre-installed google apps aren't in Huawei Notification Center. It seems i can't remove google pre-installed apps (I tried, only delete updates)... Any ideas?
If you're rooted remove the Gmail app with SD Maid or similar, then reinstall from Play Store and it should appear on the list. I tested this successfully on B327.

Same here with the Huawei Ascend Mate 7. I can't uninstall the google apps... So, no notification on LockScreen, too.
It's just amazing how Huawei f***s up basic Android features again and again with each new firmware. So glad I switched phones ...
any news or other solution forma phone not rooted?
I got a Y6 and first of all, the "Notification Manager" shows an "Lockscreen Notification" for most app except for G-Mail of course ... which is just unacceptable but the fun thing is ... none of the installed and (directly) available Lockscreen Themes even support Notifications.
Huawei seems to feature no Quality assurance team whatsoever ... this will be my first and last Huawei phone. They can't even get the most essential and basic things right.

Facebook messenger and sms

Hello, I recently got my mate 9.
I usually use Facebook messenger for texting/messaging.
I have a problem where my SMS's won't be saved onto the Facebook messenger app. Everytime I close it, I have to re look up all the names again.
Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem on my honor 8, but can't seem to find a solution to the problem?

Right swipe to reply not working on facebook messenger on my phone

The right swipe to quick reply function does not work on facebook messenger in my phone. It works perfectly in whatsapp but doesn't seem to work in any way in facebook messenger. I am using Huawei Honor 9 lite(C675) version. I tried looking for solutions in google but looks like such problem doesn't exist
Edit: I just figured out that this problem only occurs in my account. I tried from another account from the same phone and it worked.

Syncing google contacts with P40 pro (without GMS installed)

Hi all
I tried to install GMS a few times but didnt work and couldnt be bothered with ongoing issues - part of the reason to get the P40 pro was to get further away from google. One thing that is a pain though is updating and syncing contacts. I had all my contacts on google and would like that, if I update a contact on my phone or on "contacts. google.com" that they are in sync. Without GMS, is there a way of doing this? I have outlook installed on my phone but that doesnt seem to be doing the job - what am I missing? Thanks
Don't suppose anyone knows the answer to this ?

Export them and use Huawei backup to keep them backed up.
Use an old Huawei phone (with GMS) to import your contacts on Huawei ID.
Then, in the new phone, choose Huawei ID as default place for your contacts (show/save).

Sorry for ignorance. Is huawei backup windows based?
FYI the way I ended up doing it was to export VCF contacts by going to contacts.google.com in browser in the phone. Then imported using the Huawei contacts app. It seems to work but merges imports. So if you have deleted an email address in a contact in google contacts, then use my method, it won't reflect that after import (i.e. you still have the email address on your phone which you deleted on google contacts)
