Fix for Spen input has stopped - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

I haven't seen where anyone has posted about Samsung keyboard has stopped when trying to write. When you try and write in message app it says Samsung keyboard has stopped. This also goes for when you try and save an snote. Basically any time you try and write on the input pad the keyboard stops.
Hope I explained this well enough to understand.
Anyone know what causes this or if there is a fix?
Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue with 2 different stock 6.0.1 ROMs. It doesn't allow me to use my SPen to write. Any help will be appreciated.

Messaging

Hi all,
I've searched the forum but cannot find a solution to my problem.
I have a HTC Touch Pro in Australia..
I am wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the little window that comes up when your typing and message that seems to just re-type the word your typing. It has totally no point in being there and it makes typing a message run so much slower. I've tried disabling everything i can to get rid of it.. can anyone help?

look at the bottom of the keyboard, you set it to T9, change it to ABC by tapping that botton
Thank you very much! That fixed my problem!

Issue with Keyboard

Hi all, been lurking for a while but thought I would finally post up.
Having an issue with my Nexus S on stock ROM v2.3.3. It isn't the same issues with the keyboard disappearing etc but it is an issue with the keyboard not inputting text when I type.
If I am typing a SMS reply to someone on my phone and I pause for a few seconds (to talk to someone for example) then I try to continue typing, the keyboard acts like its typing but does not actually type anything else into the message. The only fix I have managed to discover is exit the SMS so that a draft gets saved then once I go back into the message it works again.
Don't know if that is a clear enough description but if anyone else has any suggestions or even a fix for it then it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Yeah I have that too sometimes. What also happens to me about every week is, that the smiley sections' and the (particularly important for me since I'm from Austria and using the German keyboard ü-ö-ä) special buttons and symbols' pop up extension (hard to describe, but I mean the thing that pops up when you put your finger on the expandable tile for like 2 second and which let's you select the unusual symbols from a list) simply will not pop up. So it would make it impossible for me to choose from the pre-created smileys etc.
I have found out that changing your input method to another keyboard (I use SwiftKey in these cases) and then changing it back Android keyboard make the problems disappear. But they seem to come back regularly and I haven't found out what causes them to appear...
Any help?

[Q] MyTouch 4G won't type for 20-30 seconds

I couldn't see this same problem anywhere else, please post the link if you know of another place this topic has come up.
I have a MyTouch 4G which is running Android 2.2.1 I'm not terribly techno-savvy, so it isn't rooted, there's nothing on it you can't find in the Android Market.
The problem I'm having is that when I get a text, for instance (this is just one example, it's not just a texting problem) when I pull up the keyboard and try to type, whether it's tapping a letter or using swype, nothing appears in the text box. The screen is obviously fine because I can navigate to, and open the messaging program and even tap the window where my response will show bringing up the keyboard. It's only after this point for 20-30 seconds or so, whatever I type doesn't populate the "Type to compose" box. The text prediction will even bring up a suggested word, but if I tap on it, nothing happens. It's not a lag, the words don't all appear suddenly 20 seconds later.
This was only one example, it happens any time I need to type. The Google search box, the search box in contacts, a note in DropBox....anything.
Has anyone else had this same issue? Or, do you have any ideas as to what I might try to get this problem taken care of?
Thank you in advance
i had the same Problem on my galaxy s when i still had android 2.1
After the Update to Froyo the problem disapeared
Maybe you should root your phone and install a different kernel and rom?
I am quit sure that this would fix your problem

I'm pretty unskilled with things like rooting my phone. Apart from that, the root procedure on the MT4G is a complicated one, at least the ones I've seen.
Thanks for the reply though Jcyber, Any other ideas folks?

Go into settings->Language and input->click the settings for the keyboard you're using, then there should be a box "Voice input key" put it either on main keyboard or symbols.. good luck and hope I helped
Try looking under Settings / “Locale and Text”

[Q] Samsung keyboard not working

I flashed the no-wipe JB release (currently K3) from these boards on my S3. I was initially bugged by the persistent help tips on the lock screen, but eventually followed the suggestion of disabling the help app, so that appears to be gone. My biggest sticking point now is that the default Samsung keyboard does not work for me. When I select that keyboard, any attempts to type by swiping show the line following my finger movement across the keys, but no text appears. I can type by tapping. I do have T9 Trace selected in the keyboard settings. I also have Swype Beta 1.3 installed and working properly, so I'm fine with using that keyboard, but I would like to figure out what settings I'm missing in the default keyboard. I tried uninstalling Swype and re-flashing JB with no improvement. Has anyone else experienced this? DO you need any additional information or have any suggestions?
Thanks

I dont want to use to the nnew Swype keyboard because I prefer the stock samsung keyboard. My t9 option is on but when I swipe, my swipe line appears but no text appears. It does add space though as if wrote more than one word. Ive tried cleari ng cache and data in thr application settings and still got the problem.
