New update
After launching Jair Player to Play Store, I've received few bug reports, lots of feature requests.
I've added all the stuff to my TO-DO list & I'm working hard to implement all the things.
Here comes Jair Player v1.01, just an minor update to fix bugs

Jair 1.0 have some problems showing files that now you solved with 1.1, thanks
Now I can't change music when screen is off with volume buttons. I use Gravity Box to manage rew and forward with volume on my Huawei Y300 JB4.1 and Viper4Android
I can use volume with Apollo so is a Jair issue, I hope this can help

Great player, but it does not read or see any of my playlists, can only create playlist on device.

Just installed and it looks nice. Thanks for the counter on the widget, useful feature IMO. I'll try it later.

Does it play cue files and APE?

This Player has a wonderful UI , but it doesn't list .m4a music in the library even though it can play them when selected to open the .m4a files in file managers.

It is because the .m4a extension is not the default extension.
However you can change this by go to setting->library and folder->file extension, then select the .m4a.
After that, you should choose scan music (the top item in the same screen). Now the .m4a will be listed.

Sorry, currently it is not.

I can't find my mp3 files which are on extcard. In settings there is only path mnt/sdcard. But there is no other path to access extcard.

I haven't dropped acemusic support. The problem with it is, that there is no official public API for google play music streaming on unofficial apps. So the google play music streaming doesn't work properly. I am trying all the libraries i found on the internet, to do the job, but am not able to do so! Maybe I'll have to strip off Google Play Music. Will it be okay? Or no?

Yeah honestly I don't really care about the Google Play support myself, a couple of things would make ace music perfect for me.
Lock screen support and if you could somehow make the navigation for albums, songs, etc in the sliding fashion like this app and not the slide out left menu it would be perfect.
Or even integrate the now playing screen from ace music into this app as ace has the best now playing UI on any music player in my opinion

Yeah your navigation drawer is just fine, I think you should rip the now playing ui from acemusic as that trumps any other ui out there. I would gladly purchase lantern for that as acemusic was better than the google io player anyway

But I can't see any album art and the songs list is blank while I can view the albums.
But i would still prefer acemusic over this.

issue
on pressing next in playback activity, the seekbar is not getting reset. It happens only if I pause the playback and press next, otherwise, it is okay. The seekbar is getting stuck at that point.
It was temporary, I couldn't recreate the issue afterwards

Cool app!

Nice little app! I like its overall features, but I have an issue that I hope you can address in the near future. Album art is handled very badly, there's no setting for keeping the aspect ratio or unzooming, etc. But the biggest problem is that it uses some kind of thumbnail system that downgrades the quality of the images. I always embed my files with high-quality pictures to avoid blurriness. ACE and Poweramp handle it beautifully, with no settings or issues, just displaying the actual images I embedded. The difference between them and lantern is palpable.

Only one feature I need and I'd be very grateful if you can implement a toggle for lockscreen album art

Hey! Superb app, I am using it now as my main music player, but the application doesn't download? or can't find? covers for my albums, only 3 artworks were found. Could you add a feature to manually set covers from gallery or help me somehow else with this problem? I found all my albums on last.fm, so I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Intro - Little bit about me. I am 23 and started my first full time Software job last year. I spent about an year on this app along with my full time job. Hope you people will like it. I was first introduced to the Android platform in my last year in college by two of my friends who asked me if I would like to develop an app with them. I agreed and I immediately fell in love with Android. We made a very simple Compiler app. Since then I have learnt a lot.
Motivation- I read about Chris Lacy's Link Bubble somewhere on the web and tried it out. It was a fantastic idea and a great app. I saw some of his other apps and I was determined to make an app that people will use. The idea of making something that people use everyday was so satisfying and exciting. Due to my passion for Music I decided to make a Music Player.
Although one would find lots of Music Players (which play local files) on PlayStore, I feel that they can still be made way better than how they are right now. Lots of amazing features can be added around data learning and user experience which I think most local Music Players miss. My aim is to make my app the best Music Player on playstore. Its still far from that but I am trying to improve it everyday.
About App - Wave music player is a futuristic music player with Folder View, Equalizer, Widget support and much more. With Wave Music Player for Android you can tag your music with any keyword of your choice and later search tracks based on that tag. This music app also has a smart playlist feature that lets you search for music by more than one criteria including your tags.

There are third party soundcloud clients, you can consider adding soundcloud etc streaming support? It would make it perfect. But even now, I really like it !

Not yet. Because custom rom installed on my phone, I have not install Google apps yet.
I will install google apps today.

-Added feature for Sorting songs by Albums as well as Artist names.
-Also albums items now show both Artist and Album names
