Marshmallow ROM with NFC payment, Bluetooth, and GPS working? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im about to factory flash stock because of overheating killing my battery but it still has a issue with NFC payment and GPS doesn't work great.
Bluetooth in my car is something I use daily almost. It must work perfectly.
NFC I just got a card for but I know COS 13's implementation is sadly broken and does not work.
I have been able to live with it but GPS is broke (signal jumps all over the place)
Out of the three, Bluetooth is a MUST HAVE. No questions asked. I rather have broken wifi than broken Bluetooth.
Should I stick with stock or what do you recommend?

Idk about NFC payment, but Bluetooth and GPS are working as expected in CM13 based ROMs as well as COS13.
You should try flashing factory images using fastboot method
For info on flashing: index #8 of http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guides-bacon-timmaaas-how-to-guides-t2839471

I don't know about the rest of the M based roms, but stock cos13 and sultan's cm13 caf rom have no issues with gps or bluetooth, as I have used those both. I don't know about nfc as I never use it.

Shame. I imagine GPS is a cache issue or some crap but It would be nice to do NFC payments...

That is incorrect. Bluetooth has problems with voice calls via car hands free in EVERY marshmallow rom. Including Sultan's.
NFC works phone-to-phone but locks up while reading certain tags. Another known bug.
If you need 100% working phone, go back to Sultan's 12.1

[Q] My GPS Problem.

I tried all the fixes posed on Xda, sdx and every other site but i get the same problem when i put my GPS on, it things im in the middle of the ocean right under Africa. Kinda funny and when i go back to stock it don't pick a signal up at all i tried it in other locations and nothing. is anyone else having this problem? I read that it works for other people but nothing I tried other roms and I still don't get a gps fix on anything.
one of the best GPS locks I had is in Sharp Rom. You can find it on AF.
GPS locks in seconds, which proves that GPS problem in Triumph is not hardware related.
If you have CWM you should try it. Don't forget to turn on "use AGPS.." in the setting and you will be surprised.

Yeah this is something I want to try and fix in CM7 will see if I can't get it to work properly!
I'm using g60 cm7 and its stable, but can take up to 2 mins. When I use app gps status it downloads the satellite map and can sometimes speed up my lock. :good:
What I do is at night I'll kick on navigator and "use wireless assist thingy" and it will run forever while I sleep and it's plugged in. I was using FakeGPS for a while and that will mess things up.

Have you tried the GPS 2.0 libraries update for gingerbread ROMs?Now I know that some people say it didn't work but others say it did.I use it on my MT and it works great. If you have tried it with no luck then maybe its the GPS radio in the phone isn't worth a darn.I've read where it was said the poor GPS was a hardware issue and not software.
The fact that GPS is fully working in the Sharp Rom proved that GPS is not hardware issue.

Thanks for trying out the Sharp ROM. There are hardware issues with the GPS but it is also software related. With the Sharp ROM, the GPS, without AGPS, still works better than on any of the Triumph ROMs, IMHO, but the cherry on top is the AGPS. It is ridiculous how fast you get a lock.
Have you tried faster GPS from the market? Most roms and stock use crappy custom GPS servers that take way too long to lock. Faster GPS easily let's you set the server to the official ones closest to your region. I now get first fix times around 1 min then locks on under 10 secs any other time.

My Touch 4g and the ELM 327 interface for OBDII data - BT compatible ROMs?

I've been cruising on cyanogenmod 7.1 for about 2 years now, and since the auto store no longer reads OBD II codes for customers, I decided to purchase one of the $10 Bluetooth ELM 327 devices off ebay, and use the Tourque app to read the data from my car.
The app works great, but it only works if you have a notification pop up asking to pair with the device, and I've only been able to get BT to work with this device so far with a 4.2.2 ROM --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204963 (only JB one I've tried). The other ICS ROM's I've tried so far along with CM 7.1 just won't connect. Has anyone else found a good ROM that works, or a way to trigger a bluetooth notification?
Basically, I turn on Bluetooth in all the ROMs, it detects the device, I select the device, and it says "Paired but not Connected" If you long press or hit the gear symbol, the only option is to "unpair". Pairing with other phones works perfectly fine, but with this device the option/notification to connect never comes up.
Anyone know of any ROMS prior to Jellybean that work with similar BT devices? .. Dunno if there is a way to trigger a notification; I do like JB, but once everything I need is working, my #1 goal is then responsiveness.
Any ideas/insights/experiences are much appreciated.
Have you tried any Sense roms?
Well, as it turns out, after I did a complete wipe, and was trying cyanogenmod 7.2 out, I was able to connect..... in fact, I'm able to connect on good ole 7.1 as well, and mytouchUXv3... which I didn't want to uninstall- seemed to have a snappier ui. I have no idea why I was unable to connect yesterday, but on whatever ROM i've tried today, if I start bluetooth, then run the torque app, then go back to the bluetooth app with the torque app running, and select pair/unpair/pair/unpair, it connects pretty soon. *scratches head*
One reason I stick to cm 7.1 is that I've read of many users experiencing diminished battery life with cm 7.2

What do we lose if we stick to 7.1 instead of 7.2

I've been using CM10.1 for the past year and have had sucess with my Bluetooth OBD II reader.
Here is the ROM I have been using. The camera is a bit slow on this ROM but other than that I love it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204963
Just to confirm, it ALSO works well with Vipertouch 2.1.4.
Buddy of mine passed me his cheap ELM ODB II Bluetooth unit, (he could not connect to it, since he had some chinese S3 knockoff phone).. Worked perfectly first time.
Paired no problem, and connected using Torque Pro and read quite a few of the sensors on my honda without an issue.
Thanks to all the devs for keeping these older phones alive..

[Q] What the heck it wrong with GPS?

I thought the latest update would fix it, but my oneplus sometimes wont lock on to GPS. It is really annoying since I use my phone to navigate to a lot of places when I am driving. I have tried third party apps (GPS status) and I have rebooted a million times, which sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. Does anyone have a fix for this? I am about to throw my phone into the river!
Perhaps you can try Nightlies? On stock GPS same will not lock, have to reboot your phone. Nightlies doesn't have GPS problems worked perfectly.
I've never had a single problem with GPS on mine, and I play Ingress on a daily basis.
Zero problems with GPS here. Try FasterGPS from the Play Store.

Works flawlessly here, used it a few times as a sat nav.
Could you tell us your setup? I assume you're on the stock rom but are you running a custom kernel or anything else?

Unfortunately I have the same problem as you. And I have tried nightlies and every other ROM posted on here, none have resolved it. FasterGps also doesn't help. It's a shame because otherwise the phone is perfect, but I can't use apps like Runtastic and Maps without gps working. I've opened a support ticket with OPO, it's been 10 days, haven't heard a word.

Stock out the box, I havent even unlocked the bootloader or anything. It seems like maybe I should
I have the same issue, I'm rooted with stock CM and kernel and my GPS never worked. It's ****ing annoying
To be honest I never tried GPS stock as I unlocked the bootloader, rooted and installed Franco kernel as soon as i got the phone.
You could try franco and see if it makes a difference, if you're willing

Its the luck if the draw as I have Franco and crdroid and also have the same GPS issues as others. I must say though I seem to have thus on all my phones so its not specific to OPO. There used to be GPS files to flash which improved it. I have been looking around

Same issue with franco too actually.

Issues with Wi-fi and Bluetooth radios

Hello XDA!
I'm having some issues with the wi-fi, and bluetooth, connectivity on my GM-930F S7 (Non-edge) phone.
The wi-fi issue is that it occasionally disconnects, and when I try to re-connect, it either doesn't work (quickly goes through the motions, but doesn't connect), or lists the hotspot as "disabled". I had no issues with this on my backup Note, nor on my older S5.
The bluetooth issue is that if the phone doesn't seem to have a direct line-of-sight to the earphones then the audio almost immediately drops out and begins to stutter/drop seconds of audio, like somebody is bashing the mute-button.
I think both of these issues are related, potentially they share the same radio. I do have a HDSPA+ connection when I'm out and about, so that works, but I do think perhaps I've got a mismatched radio/setting somewhere which is screwing with those two.
I've already tried to return to stock, twice, using two separate ROMs flashed through Odin (BTU-G930FXXU1DPLT-20170117160813, & G930FXXU1DQE7_G930FEVR1DQD1_EVR) (I'm with EE), and I've also tried a myriad of other roms, (AOKP, AOSPExtended, ResurrectionRemix, SlimRom, Linage 14.1), however none of them seem to solve the issue.
My question is has anybody experienced an issue like this before? Are there any specific radios or things you'd recommend I flash, either via TWRP or Odin? Any more details I can provide?
Just so I'm clear, the wi-fi and bluetooth worked beautifully on my S5, so I have no reason to believe that hardware is at fault, it's very likely the phone.
I've also just tried it with a MM rom (G930FXXU1APAW_G930FOXA1APBA_BTU) and the same issue occurs.
Seems like faulty hardware. I am using superman ROM and no problems so far. I mean, i doubt you will fix it by changing ROM. You should bring it to the service.

Thanks for the reply! I don't think it's hardware, if it was then the wi-fi/bluetooth would either work, or not work. I mean if I keep the phone close to the earphones the bluetooth is fine, but if it's arms length away, or there isn't a line-of-sight, it drops, the wi-fi is similarly spotty, but not working/broken. I had a similar issue on my old S5, I ended up solving it but I can't remember how, it was years ago. However it certainly was a software issue. Either ROM, or Kernel, or Modem/CP, etc.
I see lots of comments from people about the issue occurring once they upgrade to Nougat, so I'm very sure it's software. Possibly an issue with the Kernel or Modem, or a combination of both.
Would it be possible (minus the EFS of course) to get an upload of your setup so I can try with your exact settings? I've tried the SuperMan ROM before, but I'll give it another go now.
Also (Although it isn't 100% solved), I've found trying out the ROM "[ROM] S8 FULL PORT FOR S7 & S7 EDGE by ambasadii [AQEB] [v3.1]" noticeably increases the range that the bluetooth works over. It still isn't a large range, but it more than doubles it. I've gone back to previous ROMs I've tried, speaker and phone in the same place, and it doesn't transmit that far, back to the S8 Port, and it does. I've no idea what could be causing this and it's really bothering me. I know the S8 has upgraded bluetooth software, but this speaker worked fine with my S5.

As do I
Ideally just a snapshot of your system, minus all the personal information and such - if your bluetooth works fine with your modem/rom/bootloader/etc and it doesn't on mine, then at least I can be reasonably sure it is a hardware issue, in which case I'll have to try to get it mended.
The reason I'm not 100% sure is the S8 ROM extended the BT range to what other S7 ROMs haven't, so I'm still not 100% sure.

[ISSUE][G610M] Can Bluetooth audio be improved when Wi-Fi is in use?

I have a SM-G610M phone with LineageOs 15.1 installed. The problem is that, when I use Bluetooth, audio degrades on any Wi-Fi activity. It seems BT and Wi-Fi won't play together nicely.
Any Wi-Fi activity will inmediately make BT audio crackle, and stutter, specially if going through some network workload, no matter how small it may be.
Even worse, it appears with about 40-50% BT signal if idle (connected) Wi-Fi.
When it's off, my laptop shows 100% BT signal. from my phone.
On heavy workloads, audio cuts off completely and BT even disconnects. If it's still connected, it shown with 10% or less of signal.
And all ot that even when I put phone right next to my computer. I get up to 3-5 feet away from my PC or from Bluetooth speaker. I think it must be my phone because audio also crackles a lot when connected to any other BT speaker.
Now, I can't seem to identify what wi-fi and BT hardware it uses as lshw and lspci won't work on Termux. The first can't be installed while the second appears not to find some system directory, thus not working.
i decided to make a thread specifically for this as I didn't seem to find any solution for this, though I did find similar issues but no one claiming to have a fix or workaround...
Thanks in advance....
Try switching your router from 2.4Ghz band to 5Ghz and check.
Coz Blueooth loves to interfere with WiFi networks and viceversa , mainly because both send signals over a 2.4GHz radio frequency. Sometimes Bluetooth cuts off access to the internet entirely, while in other cases it just slows down the speed significantly...
This is just by assumption of what might be your problem, i don't know what exactly is your issue so.

Does the G610M support 5ghz hands?
I've also read about this issue, but I didn't think it's a problem because my laptop ouptuts well to the Bluetooth speaker, which is shown with 100% signal at all times.

Now that I think about it, the speaker doesn't even have Wi-Fi, so it may not be a good comparison, but still...
Just don't use LOS and problem solved for the most part. LOS builds are almost always buggy anyways same as CM before... Just use other Android 9/10 ROMs

That would mean using ROMs that aren't AOSP, so some Magisk or Xposed mods would barely work, would they?

Yes most likely not AOSP but there are OneUI ROMs that work flawlessly with both Magisk and Xposed you just need to be careful with which mods you try installing since sometimes the ROM's already contain certain tweaks that may be messed up by additional conflicting mods but other than that, I don't see the problem in using non AOSP ROM's though LOS would be less restrictive when it comes modding but the bugs would discourage most anyways to daily drive them...

Well, this would be it, as my router won't support 5GHz Wi-Fi. Even if it did, there are several older devices that don't support either.
