Need help, since new firmware update I've noticed my Google play music lock screen widget has the controls missing. Album art is displayed but controls are not there. When I click where they were it goes from white to black and I can see them for a second. I've done a FDR, setup as new device and still same issues.

Un-install good lock and see if the issue still persists. If it doesnt, then good lock is the problem.
It's an issue with the recent good lock update. It will get fixed. In the mean time, go to the good lock settings, advanced, and check/uncheck the "Enable colored notification card". It will bring back the control buttons (the text is still funky to me).

A red border appears at the edges of my Samsung nexus s screen running ice scream sandwich when I do some operations like use Google search or compose an email or make selections could this be malware? I have run avast and lookout and the both return positive results but still am not satisfied by that because my phone did not do this a week ago. Any body know what this is and how to fix this?

Settings --> Apps --> Running --> List me everything that is there. Also, click on cached apps (or the memory bar) and list everything that is there too. Feel free to attempt closing some of these and see if it goes away.
Isn't that a setting in developer options?

SOLVED........ Found out from elsewhere that this issue is due to the app "Addon #1" which is an app protector add on for Hide It Pro / Audio Manager. I deleted it & the issue resolved itself. Glad to see it gone!!
------------------------------------
THE ISSUE....... I just restarted my phone because it was acting slow. When it booted up a yellow pad lock icon appeared in the notification bar at the top. When pulling it down it says "Locker Enabled" and under it "Your phone is protected". I've never seen this before & it won't let me clear it.
I just re-installed Lookout Security and scanned my phone with it. It says Everything is OK though.
Anyone seen this before?
....or have any advice on what to do about it?

Stock rooted 2.3.4 GRJ22 V21y. Today my "power control widget" disappeared. Ya know, the blue bar with Wi-fi, bluetooth, gps, and two other buttons I never use. How do I restore this widget? This is almost silly...
Make sure your screen is on and hold your finger down over a empty part of the screen, one that does not contain any apps. After a second or two a menu should pop up with some options and one should say widgets. Select that option and the power control widget should be listed there.

The option should look similar, but maybe not exactly like this. Select widgets.

Slightly Bored. Extremely Helpful.
never mind
Wow, I'm sorry, I was dealing with my early-dementia father-in-law and I was out of it. The next time I picked my phone, I was, "Doh". But thanks for the reply.
Is anyone else periodically getting a blank Chrome screen like this?

No buttons, no text box, no UI elements except the Chrome watermark. The only way to get the UI back is to press the back button and then relaunch Chrome.

Aha, I'll try that.
Like so. I'd like to keep my music close.

It doesn't stay. Once you clear your recent apps it goes away

Not always for me, sometimes it goes away sometimes it stays. Sometimes it leaves a process in the Settings > Apps > Running tab as well. There is some issue with the app closing itself properly.
