Hey guys, I have an joying headunit MTCD android 5..1.1.
I watched YouTube video on how to enter reocovery, but I can't seem to get it in recovery. I tried for the past 45 mins, no luck.
Am I doing this wrong?
Hold down the volume knob button for 5 seconds then release and hold back again
You have to pull out the power plug. Then hold the power button down for 5 seconds, even release and press again for 3 seconds.
Sry for my bad english.
Hold the power button in until the lights on the buttons flashes. When the lights stop flashing, quickly release the power button, then quickly press and release the power button again. After about 5 seconds the unit will boot into recovery.

I am having some problems turning on my Tab2 7.0. If the unit has been sitting for a while and I try to turn it on, I have to hold down the power button for a few seconds and wait for it to boot up. If I hit the power button again the screen will turn off like it should. Now only waiting a few minutes I can quickly hit the power button and it will turn the screen on and show me the lock screen. If I wait more than a few minutes to use it again I will have to "reboot" it by holding down the power button for a few seconds.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for all the help in advance.
I've held the vol down and the power button, for as long as 10 minutes. The phone does nothing. I release them and the phone starts normally. The touch buttons at the bottom blink 4 - 5 times, and that is all that happens.
What is going wrong here? I am on 1.85. No root, no mods etc.

In power settings uncheck fastboot and then try again.

No change. Touch buttons do not blink, but the phone simple never starts up until I release them.
Start by holding the volume down button in, then the power button. After the the soft lights blink a few times & the screen goes black, immediately release the power button "only" while still holding in the volume down key. If I had to guess your not releasing the power button.

I was going to say something similar. You don't even have to hold the power button that long (until the softkeys blink), just 3 seconds or so. Then release the power button but NOT the volume down button. Keep holding vol down until you are in bootloader. This, and make sure "fast boot" is unchecked in Settings>Power as previously mentioned also.
Hi,
I'm running the latest stock android kitkat on my nexus 5. I recently powered off the device and it won't power back on.
When I powered off the battery was at about 90%.
I have tried:
- Holding down the power button for 3 seconds
- Holding down the power button for 30 seconds
- Holding down the power button for 90 seconds
- Holding down the power and both volume buttons
- Powering up the device while it's plugged in to USB
None of these seem to result in my Nexus 5 powering up.
I had this previously happen new years day. I decided to go home to try to fix the problem when my phone magically started working when I hit the power button for the regular amount of time.
The power button has no problem turning on and off the screen when the phone is powered up.
Anyone have any tips on how I can get this thing powered up?
I have a feeling I'm going to have to RMA this phone.

Yeah most likely you are going to have to RMA, but before that just try this. Try connecting your phone to a wall outlet and don't press anything and wait for 10 seconds. Do you see a battery icon on the screen? If not, then unplug it, hold both volume buttons, then plug it back in. If your phone actually does work, you should get to the boot loader screen.

Tablet Hard Reset
I don't have experience with
this specific tablet, but many
Android devices use a similar
procedure.
Start with the tablet fully
powered off (not just in
standby). To force the tablet to
a fully off state, hold the power
button pressed for until it
powers down. This can take 10
to 20 seconds.
Hold the volume up button
pressed (some devices may use
the volume down button), and
then press and hold the power
button, until a small menu
appears. Release the power
button and then the volume
button.
Use the volume up/down
buttons to select the required
menu entry, and then tap the
power button to action the
selection.
I hope this works for you
Hello,
as stated, i got my power button broken probably due to water (not that waterproof huh?). The power button has worked for a few weeks, sometimes it was really sloppy and unresponsive, and stopped completely, and when my battery completely depleted i am now unable to power it on. I am able to get into download mode from where there is an option to restart the phone but of course it requires to press vol down + power button.
Have you got any magic tricks to turn on a turned off s10e with the power button broken ?
Hello! The solution: press volume down + bixby button and now plug usb c data cable (computer->phone), wait 3-5 seconds and phone starting in download mode. From download mode you can restart the phone with volume down button.
