We really appreciate the users reading our reviews as we put many hours into making them. Thank also for taking the time to read our work.
Note, everything you see below except for the final summary conclusion is re-written from memory of the full review.
Xiaomi Mi5 Display
The display is great, and about as good as it gets before moving into Super AMOLED. Colors are rich and contrasty without being obnoxiously so. Viewing angles are great.
Xiaomi Mi5 review SoC Power
As we know, the Mi5 carries Snapdragon 820. This SoC has taken mobiles to a whole new level, making an incredibly leap over Apple's A8 and Snapdragon 810 from last year. Not only are the Kryo CPU's superpowered, the Adreno 530 is also a huge bump up from last year. This literally made Xiaomi Mi5 the most powerful phone in the universe according to Antutu for Q1 2016.
Even when throttled the Xiaomi Mi5 pushes 100k+ on Antutu. This test was run in 40c ambient temps! We see that what's mostly throttled is the CPU, the GPU is only moderately affected. Check it:
Xiaomi Mi5 MIUI Marshmallow Android 6.0
The OS on Xiaomi Mi5 is MIUI Android 6.0. It's very smooth. Because of the hyperpowered Kryo cores and UFS 2.0 ROM, apps load FAST. Sometimes as fast as if you had them already in RAM.
Xiaomi Mi5 GPS
GPS SNR is great. Cold lock achieved in 2 or 3 seconds. SNR is 30-40 in 8 satellites
Xiaomi Mi5 WiFi
Xiaomi Mi5 WiFi strength is great. Reaching 144ft/44m from home router with concrete wall between phone and router.
Xiaomi Mi5 Charging
What's beautiful about the Xiaomi Mi5 is Quick Charging 3.0. This chargest Mi5's 3000mAh battery to 90% in 1 hour, or 100% in 1h 15m. Wow. You can charge the phone while getting ready in the morning and phone is fully charged before going out the door.
Xiaomi Mi5 review battery life screen on test
Of course, quick charging isn't much of a help if the phone doesn't have good battery life. Luckily, that's not the case with Xiaomi Mi5. We hit 9 hours on our screen on SOT onscreen time Xiaomi Mi5 battery life test. This test is a 720p YouTube video streamed through WiFi with display at 140lux.
Does it mean you will get 9 hours screenon SOT time? Not necessarily, as this will depend on your use. Whatever the case, it's an excellent result and actually this beats the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 MTK6795 w/4000mAh by a full hour.
Xiaomi Mi5 camera samples
No good phone is complete without a good camera. We're pleased to relay that the Sony IMX298 is very good, giving us sharp pictures with realistic colors. This particular shot is HDR, but standard shots also produce good results. We have a full set of 60 images with 100% crops at the full review.
And, here we have a 100% crop from one of the pics. Remember, these pics are straight out of the camera (SOOC) with no processing other than reduce and save at 75% jpg.
Here's one more 100% crop of Floki.
Xiaomi Mi5 review summary
Battery life is great, charging time is fantastic, it carries a great looking display and comes with most of the goodies, including NFC, Gorilla Glass 4, infrared remote, gyroscope, step counter, and compass.
You can now own the most powerful consumer mobile in the known universe– Xiaomi Mi5, for a few hundred bucks– about half as much as the Galaxy S7. The Mi5 is a near perfect phone; super-powered with all components working great. If it’s within your budget, jump on it… You won’t be disappointed. If a bit too much, we recommend the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro. Available at half the price of the Mi5, RMN3P offers great value and is a mobile you’ll be happy to own.

Xiaomi Mi4C Is Official With Snapdragon 808, 3GB RAM & an Amazing Price Tag

Back when Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi Mi4i flagship in India, Chinese users felt a bit left out. The device was good in looks as well as specs and the local market could have used a device like the Mi4i. But little did they know that Xiaomi had something even better for its domestic market, and a few minutes back, it made the Xiaomi Mi4C flagship official. Just like the previous leaks and rumors predicted, the Mi4C flagship will be much better in terms of specs and value than its international brother, the Mi4i. I am sure after seeing the specs and the pricing of the new device, Chinese users will be delighted for sure. So, without wasting any more of your time, lets take a look at what this amazing device has to offer.

Looks wise, there’s hardly anything changed in the new Xiaomi Mi4C. You get the same smooth back finish with a strong rectangular body as its international brother. While this may sound a bit simple, especially in a market where metal bodied smartphones are preferred, the company compensates this clean look with its numerous color offerings. You can choose between five different colors according to your liking, including yellow, white, pink, blue and black.
But this is where the major similarity ends. Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi4C comes with the much more powerful Snapdragon 808 . On the other hand, the Mi4i had the slower Snapdragon 615. This is a great move from Xiaomi since 808 will ensure the fastest performance in its price segment, which is exactly what the MT6795 powered Redmi Note 2 did . There are two version of the Mi4C, one with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage while the othe r with 3GB RAM and 64GB of storage. With Adreno 418 GPU and the above specs, the Xiaomi Mi4C manages to score much better than competitors in the price range. According to the benchmark score revealed by the company in the presentation, the Mi4C managed to score about 57K on AnTuTu , which is even better than MX5 and Huawei P8. Clearly, you won’t be disappointed with the phone’s performance.
The display will be of 5-inches with full HD 1080p resolution . It is said that the Mi4C’s display will be 20% slimmer than traditional panels. The company has compared its size with the recently announced Apple iPhone 6S. As you can see, the dimensions are almost the same as the 6S, despite having a slightly larger display. Also, Xiaomi has made sure that the bezels are quite thin, making it around 30% thinner than average smartphones.
The company has also paid special attention to the Mi4C’s camera. The phone comes with a 13MP Sony IMX258 rear sensor with PDAF . This should ensure great images with fast focus. What’s more, the company has upgraded the algorithm to ensure that low light photos come out bright , with more detail and less noise. You can check out the image below to see how it works in real life.

}
Design
Let’s start off with the design and how the phone looks. The Elephone M1 is a very stylish smartphone I have to say, it has an elegant look and looks quite premium. Its body includes up of a metal construct which not only supplies durability to the smartphone, nevertheless it appears first-rate aesthetically too. When I gripped the smartphone for the very first time, I knew that I have been dealing with a premium best handset in view that of the fabric that was used to make it used to be made of very excessive first-class., also the fingerprint scanner in the back of the device gives a more eye-catching look to the M. Elephone M1 heirs the design of the Huawei P8 and the iPhone 6, both smartphones are beautiful so is the M1.
Button Placement
In 2015 people tend to buy smartphones with big displays and that’s the issue, some hands are small and some big. The M1 with the 5.5inch display is quite big and in many phones with that big display placing the buttons in the right position is a nightmare. Thankfully the M1 buttons are well aligned and correctly placed, coming from a Note 4 with a 5.7inch display I enjoyed more having the power and volume buttons in the right hand side. Not incorporating a bodily residence button proper within the core is a process that a number of Chinese smartphone OEMs follow and it's not necessarily a good approach. This is because it's not going to provide that clicking sensation when a user really presses a physical home button, and majority of the instances, they will need to tap on the capacitive button.
Display and resolution
I would love to see a Full HD Display on this smartphone but sadly, Elephone integrated it to the Elephone M2 which is an upgraded version of the M1, but don’t panic having an HD display will you more battery life. Despite the HD display on the M1, performs very good. Having the brightness to maximum level I had no problem using the phone under the Sun, also the display is gorgeous, I have never seen such a beautiful HD display on a smartphone at first I couldn’t believe that it was only HD. The M1 has some awesome viewing angles thanks to the IPS panel, even though you will easily be able to notice the difference in display quality thanks to its 5.5 inch screen. The pixel per inch density of Elephone M1 is relatively low, which will degrade the overall quality and experience of the user, but eventually you will get used to it. MediaTek has developed features that are simple to use and cater to the latest trends. MiraVisionTM provides the high-definition, fluid video playback you would expect from an HD television screen while using a mobile device.
Performance
As Isaid earlier the performance of the phone so far is absolutely amazing. With a quad core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz having multiple applications open and gaming was piece of cake for the M1. I tried to squeeze and push the device to its limits I haven’t seen it lag yet, I have to say that Elephone did a great Job with this device. Comparing it to my Note 4 clocked at 2.7Ghz some apps run faster and much smoother on M1, maybe the reason for that is that the MediaTek CPU has a 64-bit architecture, but hey it’s still a 1.3Ghz CPU it won’t give you too much power.
Camera
The camera is not that great but not so bad either. I would rank it as a medium-range smartphone camera. OmniVision 13MP camera (physical 8.0MP, upgraded to 13MP with software) says Elephone. It also supports 1080p video recording. A variety of shooting modes like sunset, landscape and portrait are supported. And various filters in black and white, cameo, neon, etc, fun techniques like Smile Snapshot, Picture in Picture Mode and more, so obviously picture taking is more interesting.
Battery Life
You hardly find smartphones with awesome battery life, and this phone isn’t one. It has a very good battery life but not awesome. The idle times were amazing, better than my Note 4’s. The Elephone M1 lasted for 3 and a half days without charging while in the end I had 2hours and 30minutes of SOT. The M1 has two power saving modes , one is for intelligent power saving standby which means when the phone is idle it consumes way less energy and there is also the Battery Saver Mode which reduces the device’s performance and limits vibration and background processes.
Conclusion
Overall the Elephone M1 is an almost perfect smartphone, despite the beautiful elegant look with its all metal body design it also has an awesome display, a very good speaker, quite good back camera, great battery life and the performance is great. Don’t forget the awesome fingerprint scanner which is located in the back of the device. The only drawbacks I found on the M1 were the front camera and the lack of customizations on the System. Elephones UI (Interface) does a really good job of keeping up the performance. I would also like to point out that the M1 has a two slots one for SIM and one for microSD card up to 128GB, but you can also have two SIM cards instead. If you care about aesthetics then this smartphone is for you because it can combine enough performance for many different tasks and also having a smartphone that others will be jealous about. The best price I could find was at Geekbuying which they have it for $130. I think it’s a great deal since the phone it solid as rock and the performance brilliant in light to medium tasks.

This is a very condensed version of the full review. It is regarding the MTK6795 version of the Xiaomi Note 3. The Qualcomm Pro review will be up next week, as well as a comparison between the two varients.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 review style
Xiaomi puts an element of slickness in their new Note series, with the majority of the backpiece from aluminum. The upside to this is that it looks slick, the downside is that metal is softer than plastic. Even with somewhat light pressure, a fingernail can permanently scratch aluminum.
At the top and the bottom, the sides and back are of plastic, though very cleverly manufactured to give a metal appearance. The line where they meet the metal adds some character and unless looking very closely, we can’t tell that it’s of plastic as opposed to aluminum.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 camera
The camera on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 carries the Samsung S5K3M2 sensor and is produced by Sunny. The images in good light are well beyond adequate for social sharing, and good enough from medium to small prints. Colors are rendered in a pleasing way, without being over-saturated. Sharpness is good without showing evidence of strong sharpening artifacts.
Full Album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/albums
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 display
The display on the Xiaomi Note 3 is IPS [email protected] This gives us a retina PPI of 400. Viewing angles are very good, with only minimal color/contrast changes from extreme angles. Colors look very good, with a perfect balance between pop and laid back. Some users might prefer the colors to be a touch deeper/more saturated, but this is really up to taste.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 benchmarks
Antutu 6.0.4: With the Antutu test we’ve run both the latest 6.0.4, as well as the last release of the old school 5 series– 5.7.3. The 6.0.4 Antutu was ran 3x, with the lowest score at 48,061 and the highest hitting 51,310 with a 3D score of 13,115.
The 6.0.4 Antutu HTML5 test scores 12,658 which puts in in line with Xperia Z Ultra and HTC One M8.
Antutu 5.7.3: Old school Antutu gave us a solid score of 39,701 with a 3D score of 9,859.
Geekbench: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Geekbench benchmark hit 827 on the single-core test, which puts in in the Samsung S5 ballpark (938), and 4625 on the multi-core test, which puts a serious smoking on the S5 (2836).
3DMark Sling Shot: using ES 3.0, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 gave us a score of 804, which is in the same park as the Nexus 5 (980) and SnapDragon 801 OnePlus X (929).
PCMark: PCMark gave us a score of 4088.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 battery SOT
This particular test was done on low-brightness (<30%), typical web use mostly with sites we often frequent, some chatting, Facebook app, Line app. An excellent result, with a period of 34 hours giving 8 hours 25 minutes screen on time, 30 hours deep sleep and 4 hours wakelock.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 summary
A great looking display, great battery life, very good loudspeaker sound, solid camera, strong GPS, as well as the inclusion of compass, gyroscope and touch-ID make the Hongmi Note 3 a phone I would easily recommend to a close family member. Given the hardware, the pricing is right around where it should be. The Hongmi 3 is also no slouch powerwise and should provide well beyond enough juice for the average user, and me more than enough juice for the power user as well.

The contents are not as sharp as in our A2 lite. Mi CC9e has only 200+ ppi and Mi A2 lite has 400+ ppi it will be noticeable if you watch youtube videos in 1080p resolution.

I have little knowledge about what does that look like, so i gues i will know that if i decide to buy it. Does maybe AMOLED have impact on that sharpnes, i know from my expreience from Samsung S6 (AMOLED) that dark colors were better, and overall picture impresion was that it looked more lively and natural than it is on A2 Lite with IPS LCD, what do you think ? Thanks

The sharpness of the content will be based on how many pixel there is in a display whether LCD or AMOLED. AMOLED displays will have true black display and of course Samsung s6 display is better because it packs Quad HD which is 1440p. Also AMOLED displays had always been over saturated thats why it looks lively but can be tweak depends on the user's preference.
Update from GSMarena regarding A3 and A3 Lite
https://m.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_mix_4_may_have_a_64mp_camera_mi_a3_spotted_at_the_fcc_with_48mp_camera-amp-37964.php
"Meanwhile, the FCC certified an Android One phone with a 48MP camera – it sounds like the Xiaomi Mi A3. This lines up with current rumors that the new A3 models will be based on the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e (Mi A3 and A3 Lite, respectively)."

"Schematic of the back of Xiaomi's upcoming Android One phone - probably the Mi A3"
"A schematic of the back shows a the same design with a triple camera in the upper left corner. The model number of the phone is M1906F9SH, so when that name appears on TENAA we'll have more details (though we don't expect major hardware changes)"
Cool logos on back, android one icon is nice
Not Full HD display means it's DoA for me. Looking forward for the Mi A3 (regular) this time around, since it will have a 4030 mAh battery (Mi A2 had a miserable 3010 mAh battery).
What if it is possible that they produce A3 series with larger resolution than cc9e

Question huawei p50 pro issues

Hello, I just bought Huawei P50 Pro and as soon as I got it, it had a system update. I did it and from then, it gets hot after a short time of using it, especially in camera. Also when I try to take a video, it records fine and when I go to watch it, it stucks or say "error playing the media", or the video finishes immediately. And another problem I think is with the battery. 5 hours maximum until it shuts down, and it's warm. It's like services are running at the background. I don't know what's happening. All these I think in system update 12.0.1.221. And also I think that something is going on with the zoom. When I zoom in, until 3.1 it's OK, but from 3.2x until 100x it's so blur. So bad. Is it a software problem? It's the second day I use the phone. I've just updated the software to the 12.0.1.223 version but unfortunately no results in the zoom section

I had p40 pro and the zoom was incredible. After the 4x or 5x zoom, it starts blurring, and it's not clean. Do you know, is it OK? I don't think that p40 pro has better, a lot better zoom than p50 pro
Man so many trouble there! I would do a completely factory reset and i'll check again and in case i would go for warranty
Hahaha yeap. The truth is that after update, it seems a little better.
The photos are 1x 3x and 10x
Maybe the photos are good. I don't know The video is incredible but I don't know about photos.
Photos are exceptional too except the ultrawide camera that for me is average. Video are awesome too especially the audio!!!

yeah, the video is amazing. The biggest problem i think is the battery.
From 100% to 4% only 4 hours and 45 minutes on screen.
i had the Iphone 12 Pro Max and the battery lasted 9 to ten hours on screen! It's a big difference.
I heard that the emui has many problems, with stability, perfomance etc...
I'm looking on installing the harmonyOS. I think it's possible.
You won't solve too much by insytalling or trying installing HOS. The "Problem" is hardware releted. Snapdragon 888 is the answer. If we could get a Kirin chipset we will get muuuuuch better battery life out of it, Americans decided that Huawei was becoming so much better with smartphones and they banned them. I'm getting same battery life as you but for me is ok, consider also that IPhone is much thickness than Huawei, and to be honest Huawei p50 pro is much better holding it in my hands than the square design of any iPhone 12 or more....

I'm using the snapdragon version. But after the update it seems more stable. It has some bugs, like moon (it doesn't recognizes it) or the zoom photo (how clean is) but I think it Wil be fixed.
Wide on night mode is TRAGIC.
Battery is still -.-
