SuperSU on Alcatel 5040N/5040W One Touch FiERCE XL WORKS! - General Questions and Answers

I have seen a lot of issues with soft bricking using SuperSU-Me and I have figured out the issue once and for all. Kingroot has been upset over the recent reputation attacks of their software and have disabled functionality of switching between Su applications. Just follow my steps and you'll be alright.
You're going to need a few files to get started, grab them from the attachment links at the bottom of this post.
1) Extract the mrw folder from "Replace_Kinguser_with_SuperSU-v2.4_2.zip" and place it onto the root of your INTERNAL STORAGE
2) Install the PROVIDED KINGROOT APK
3) Once step 1&2 are complete, navigate to the play store and download "Terminal Emulator"
4)Open Terminal Emulator and type "su" without quotations and grant root access.
5) Next, type sh /storage/sdcard0/mrw/root.sh
6) The process will take a minute and have a few error messages, DO NOT BE WORRIED
7) Open the Supersu app that was just installed and update binary, this should have no issues as the other methods have proven faulty.
8)Reboot and enjoy
Reason I did this was so I can use Flashfire to hopefully install Xposed, I'll let you know how it goes!

Dude, you are the ****ing man! Worked perfectly and was finally able to get SuperSu to download the binaries, thanks!!!

Are these downloads still active? They won't download, could be my device but I thought I'd make sure and ask

Took me 3 or 4 tries to root with KingRoot 4.1 on an Alcatel OT Elevate, reboots constantly while rooting. Will update you if I am successful replacing KingRoot with SuperSU
UPDATE:
1. I haven't rebooted yet. . . KingRoot is in its death throes before reboot, what remains is a KingRoot app icon in App Drawer, KingRoot folder, and config file on the root of internal storage.
2. SuperSU has primary control of root management, but. . .
second line in terminal (after running script):
Failure [DELETE_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR]
UPDATE: Ignore this error, upon reboot what remains of KingRoot will be removed, as in deleted. It is like KingRoot simply vanished (which it did). That includes that annoying icon in your phone's App Drawer. Failure [DELETE_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR] is the script leaving behind the KingRoot app/icon in App Drawer, and the folder at root on internal storage.

3. I did a search using ES File Explorer in the /system/app folder. . . no searches found anything with the word "king" or "kinguser" in them, "Kingroot" folder still at root of internal storage. I am looking manually also in that /system/app & system/data folder in emulated storage 0. I see no Kinguser.apk, and nothing in data folder in emulated sdcard0. I have not rebooted the Alcatel OT Elevate yet after running the script.
UPDATE:
I no longer have concerns about bricking an Alcatel OT Elevate. There is like a 0.01% chance of a brick occuring using this method. If this was a perfect world I'd have said 0.00% chance, but I am telling you your phone will not brick.
UPDATE: I rebooted into safe mode, and still no sign of KingRoot, so I figured while I was at it I might as well boot normal boot. So, after normal boot I check the Elevate's system files and sure as rain is wet no sign of KingRoot. So, this script says "f%#@ you" to KingRoot and kicks it's ass, then kills it, and buries it in a very deep grave. R.I.P. KingRoot, thanks for the root, but you will so NOT be missed.
After Reboot:
Normal Boot, obviously:
To KingRoot:
You thought you had us Alcatel owners and others beat, but we are victorious!!! @Mr. W0lf Long live the King!!! King W0lf has a nice ring to it. Ya know?
PS.
Great thanks to King Chainfire as well!!! @Chainfire Long live Chainfire!!! SuperSU is THE shiznit.
LONG LIVE THE KING!!!

Does work, just have to keep trying with the provided KingRoot .apk Got it to work on an Alcatel OneTouch Elevate. No issues.

So everything goes well until it switches to SuperSU. It then says "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" Help would be appreciated.

[Root/Guide] How-to Root (06/08/2015)

Root for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920V (G920VVRU1AOC3///OE2)Before you begin disable your reactivation lock. There's a chance for it to get stuck ON once your device is rooted, which could cause issues with ROMs (unknown currently, but be safe!)
** You can turn it back on once you're rooted. **
WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT ACCEPT OTA "G920VVRU2AOF1" OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ROOT USING THIS METHOD. IF YOUR PHONE CAME THIS WAY, I'M SORRY THIS WILL NOT WORK.-About-
Great job Keen Team! Thank you very much for your work and bringing us root! This method and exploit were found by them and orignally posted here. The purpose of this post is to simply 1) Have a dedicated post for root under OUR forums to make it easier for newer members to get their device rooted, and 2) Simplify the installation of SuperSU for those who don't want Kinguser, while also having detailed instructions so the newer/novice users don't get lost.

-Steps to a rooted device:-
1) Go to Settings -> About phone -> and verify that your Build number (or Baseband version) is "LRX22G.G920VVRU1AOC3//OE2." SW up until "G920VVRU2AOF1" will work with this method.
2) Go to Settings -> Lock screen and security and enable "Unknown Sources" (*You may turn it back OFF once you're rooted, if you'd like*)
3) Plug your phone into your computer.
4) Scroll to the bottom of this post and download "pingpongroot_<ver>.apk" (currently "pingpongroot_beta6.apk").

5) Put the APK on your device; install and then open the application on your phone.
6) Install SuperSU when the install pops up, then open it once and return (you'll get errors in SuperSU as you're not rooted yet) to Ping Pong Root and tap "Get root!" -- if your phone reboots on its own during this, open the app and try again. Once the app finishes rooting your device, close the pop up message and reboot.
~Enjoy.
-FAQ-
Q: Will this trip my Knox Counter?
A: No.
Q: Will this let me flash ROMs/Kernels and have a custom recovery?
A: No. The bootloader is still locked.
Q: Why does my device say "Custom" when booting up?
A: That just means Samsung's system checker sees the su/root. If you flash back to stock using Misterxtc's ODIN files here, then you will no longer be rooted or show "Custom." For now, until the bootloader is unlocked, deal with it if you happen to get caught by the checker.
Q: Does this work on the edge?
A: Not yet.
Q: I'm lost, confused, stuck, or getting errors that are hindering me from root access / SuperSU.
A: Post below, I can help or in the OP for the root method, here. Often your issues can be resolved just by restarting the root process from step one. On my 20th or so rewipe and root, I ran into some issues but just refollowed every step and was fine.
1 post, just in case.
This is rather exciting. I'm staring at my Note 4 which I like better than my s6, but it was never able to get root.
This may be the reason I was looking for to use my s6 over my Note4
Thanks for putting this guide together. Hopefully it should help those new to rooting. I'd add a link to the video as well.

Unroot through the settings in chainfire's SuperSU and reroot if you're having fatal issues that are preventing root/superuser. What errors are you specifically getting with updating the binaries?
At step 10, when I type "su" I get this error:
[email protected]:/ $ su
su
[-] Connection to ui timed out
[email protected]:/ $

Open up Kinguser, and then grab a rootchecker app off of the playstore. See if you're properly rooted, if not retry the pingpongroot app.

If you have the time, I'd redo the ADB steps later. Not a big deal since your root access works, but it's nice to keep SU binaries up to date.
This is what I get when trying to install su and binaries. Please help me

Anyone having issues, go ahead and re-do the adb steps. My apologies.
In other news, I'll start working on a cleaned up stock ROM for you guys. Might take awhile due to school and work, but it'll be next on my list (no custom recovery, but FF flash. See Misterxtc's post here.)
I just rooted my phone and things are working great! I have two questions:
1.) Can anyone with more experience than me let me know if we can now install the Stock Samsung Browser as a system app (the stock browser has fingerprint reader as password which is awesome!) Please see the post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xy-s6-apps-t3041330/post59644234#post59644234
2.) Can we modify the build prop or anything to allow us to tether for free without use of FoxFi? I know FoxFi works, but it makes me have a passkey on my phone which I hate. I also tried to install the FoxFi certificate as a system certificate and it still required me to have a passcode for some reason.
Just looking for some guidance! Thank you!
Works awesome! Thanks!!!

What and where can I find the reactivation lock?

Root InFocus M330 (And Some Other InFocus Devices) With SuperSU

Hello everyone, today I'll teach you how to root your InFocus M330 and maybe other devices too in this tutorial. I know that there are many threads about rooting devices but rooting this kind of device which has a locked Bootloader is very difficult. Although, the Chinese rooting tool iRoot works on almost any device but still, people prefer SuperSU more

Disclaimer
I won't be responsible if you brick your device. Although this happens very rarely but still, proceed on your own risk.
Note
Doing this will void your warranty.
------
So, saying this, let's get started.
Step 1
Go to the Kingo Root official website and download KingoRoot.apk (I know that this tutorial is about installing SuperSU but this step is very important to get that) and install it.
Step 2
Click on One Click Root and then it'll get your device rooted with the Kingo SuperUser app. Now, reboot your device.
Step 3
Go to this page and download the Replace_Kingroot_With_SuperSU.zip new version.
Step 4
Extract the mrw folder in your phone storage's root and then go download Terminal Emulator.
Step 5
Now, open Terminal Emulator and then type su then the Kingo SuperUser will prompt you to either allow or disallow the root access, select Allow. Then, type in the terminal sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh. Now, the script will do it's stuff and then it'll launch SuperSU.
Step 5
After it launches SuperSU, it'll ask you to Update the SU Binary. Update it using the Normal mode and then reboot your device.
Step 6
Voilà! Now SuperSU is fully functional in your device. But, the problem is that there's Kingo SuperUser still installed. To remove it, open Kingo SuperUser and then click on the three dots in the top-right corner. It'll open the Settings. From there, choose Remove Root (Don't worry, this will only remove the Kingo SuperUser, SuperSU will still be functional and won't get removed).
Step 7
After removing Kingo SuperUser, reboot your device.
Step 8
After rebooting, open SuperSU, now it'll again prompt you to Update the SU Binary. Just do it and then reboot the device again.
Step 9 (Optional)
Open SuperSU and then in the Settings tab, scroll down until you see Install SuperSU into /system. Confirm the action and then reboot your device again.
Conclusion
So, after a tremendous amount of reboots and following all the steps, this will root your InFocus M330 with SuperSU and then you can enjoy all the benefits of this awesome root-handler
So, that's all for today people, Peace!

How to improve root success rate with Kingroot PC (Almost all devices) (2.x-6.0)

Hello everyone.
I found out how to improve root success rate. This was done on my brother's phone Sony Xperia E4 (latest firmware) after many failed attempts.
Disable Driver Signature Verification (Windows 8/10 only!):
[*]Go to advanced boot and disable driver signature check. TUTORIAL
Disable Antivirus, Firewall and Cleaner apps:
Disable Antivirus + Firewall on your computer. If you are using Comodo, please uninstall it. It still block some programs even it is disabled.
Turn off or uninstall Antivirus and cleaner app on your Android device
[*Turn off or uninstall Task manager on your Android device
Close all running Android emulators
Disconnect other devices from your computer
On your device, open Google Settings from app drawer, -> Security -> and disable "Scan device for security threads"
Unlock developer options and enable USB debugger on your device:
On your device, go to Settings > About phone and look at the "Build number".
Tap on the "Build number" many times until it says "You are now a developer!"
Go back to settings, scroll down, and go to "Developer options"
Enable "USB-debugging"
Ready? Let's start rooting your device:
On your PC, download ADB driver (Universal): DOWNLOAD LINK
Connect your device to your PC
On your device, allow debugging/fingerprint (if asked)
Download KingRoot for Windows, and install it DOWNLOAD LINK
Open Kingroot, and let it check your device model
Now start rooting and let it run. Don't multitask something on your PC during root.
If Kingroot failed to root your phone, DO NOT PANIC!
Close Kingroot, open Task manager and make sure adb.exe and kingroot.exe are closed
Open Kingroot and re-root again
Kingroot should tell you that your phone is successfully rooted

F.A.Q
Q: My device reboot serveral times during rooting, why?
* Kingroot have many root exploit methods to root almost all devices. If one of the root exploit failed to root your device, and not vulnerable, Kingroot will reboot your device and looking for other vulnerability (i'm not sure how it works)
This was done with Sony Xperia E4. The 4th vulnerability was found in that device and Kingroot was able to root it.
1. If the first exploit failed to root your phone and reboot, the message "your phone is not vulnerable" will appear, and Kingroot will try second exploit
2. If the second exploit failed to root your phone and reboot, Kingroot will try third exploit.
3. If the third exploit failed to root your phone and reboot, Kingroot will try fourth exploit.
4. Kingroot successfully rooted my device.
Q: My device freezing during root at %50-60, why?
I'm not really sure why it happen on some devices. Please do the following:
1. DO NOT CLOSE KINGROOT
2. Hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device
3. Turn on your device, and Kingroot will resume
Q: Root failed. What to do?
Never Get Pissed! Take a deep breath. If still feel pissed, take a deeper one. Try again.
Remember. If you have updated your firmware to the latest version via OTA (Over The Air), you have less root success rate.
Make sure Google security and Anti-virus is disabled on your device
Q: Root succeed with no Kingroot installed?
Two causes may be:
There is some additional protection on your device. (Occurs often on carrier-specific models like AT&T, or Manufacturers like HUAWEI)
Something goes wrong with Kingroot.
There is no easy fix on the first cause. As to the second, please try and manually install Kingroot application from kingroot.net.
Q: /system partition is still Read-only.
Probarly the kernel that protect /system partition from bricking. I don't know how to fix it. You should try root your device again to see if you get Read-write in /system partition
Is Kingroot malware? Why detected by antivirus software as malicious?
The answer to this question may appear to be "he says what he says...". As stated before, the core of Kingroot rooting your device is through exploiting system vulnerabilities/security loopholes, which is and will always be "dangerous" to antivirus softwares. But in turn, using Kingroot to root your device is your choice, and you are the one to employ these "dangerous" vulnerabilities, not being threatened by them. So rest assured.
Q: Kingroot tells me that i don't have internet connection (WiFi error icon). How do i do?
1. Close KingRoot
2. Open Task Manager
3. End process of adb.exe and kingroot.exe
Or try another method
fire3element said:
Hello everyone.
I am the user that originally found that running apps in the background helped KingRoot achieve root with higher success rate.
My original test was using a game "CounterSpy" and game console emulator app "PPSSPP". I ran the game Final Fantasy Type-0 in the PPSSPP emulator along with the CounterSpy game. Root was achieved within 2 attempts.
Fast forward to today (after many many tests). My original device was broken during testing. I have purchased a new device and run 3 phone benchmark apps along with KingRoot.
Antutu, Quadrant, and Geek Bench. Ran all 3 apps, ran KingRoot, phone rebooted once. No root yet. Force Stopped KingRoot from Settings (did not clear cache or data), ran 3 apps again and KingRoot. Phone Root Success.
One thing that you need to keep in mind. If your phone has a built in Task Manager app, you need to go into Settings > Apps > All > [Task Manager] and FORCE STOP it before trying to run those apps and KingRoot.
If you do not, the Task Killer will try to close those programs as you leave them to run another. Thus, the app will not be loading the system with tasks, ultimately not helping.
Your task killer might be named different on your device. It varies from manufacturer (Samsung, HTC, Motorola, etc.)
All this was done on my ZTE Zmax. I have also attempted this on a Moto E (XT830C - Tracfone model) and it did not work.
I can not explain with facts as to how or why this works. It was only a theory that proved to be effective.
It can be very hit or miss. All you can do is try.
Good Luck.

Nice to see you here WugFresh!
Good to see you, glad you've joined us
Hi! Very nice to see you here! You're always been my backup when I screw up something in the past with my nexus devices. I'm know I can always get back to stock with NRT

Love your NRT on the Nmmexus 6. Glad you're here. Makes life a lot easier
I couldn't install busybox as mentioned in the instructions provided for "rooting", it's the last step (confirmation for root). It prompted me to change installation directory but system/bin doesn't work as well. And i can't boot recovery as well after the whole rooting process. It just shows me a dead android there
edit: i may have download stock recovery as well, as prompted by your toolkit after rooting.
#2 edit: reflashed twrp to solve my problems, but you may want to mention something to prevent something like that from happening again. Or maybe i'm just dumb
#3 edit: so sorry, it seems that the busybox provided was outdated, update it from playstore and installation will be good to go

If you tried to install busybox right after you root your phone, as what the Root toolkit tells you to, it will not work like mine. That's because it's outdated. So just go to play store and update that app first before you reinstall any other app. I presume you rooted your device right after you unlock your bootloader which factory resets your device.
I have issue gaining write access to /system, busybox can't install to system/bin or system/xbin, had to install busybox through recovery.
also no /system write access through adb shell, it says system file read only

Not yet, still waiting ;(
I'm also facing the same issue, can't install busy box. It force closes after it fails to install. I tried updating to 124.1 but that didn't work, I also uninstalled and installed again from the playstore but that didn't work.
I also can't reboot into TWRP, unless I reboot through the NRT updater.
If I try to reboot normally without the updater, then I get the red warning message saying my phone is corrupt, followed by the green android robot with a red warning triangle coining out of it's stomach.
I'm running MDB08L
What I'm doing wrong?
Thanks

Install notes:
In options menu disable installing busybox, install busybox from play store after root process.
After root, Flashboot Flash Recovery in Advanced Utilities.
I have had no problems after using these steps.
I followed the steps above and busybox still wouldn't install so I found a 1.24.1 flashable zip flashed it and it worked . just another option to try if all others are not working
Does the "Restore: Flash Stock + Unroot" option completely wipe any trace of unlocking, rooting so that the phone could be sent to Google for repair. (I'm just asking, in case my screen breaks)

Yup, just did mine to send it back to google for warranty replacement of intermittent power button.
Guys here is a flashable zip. It's busybox 1.24.1 permissive. It's works 100% for me many times. If anyone wants 1.24.1 SElinux just let me know and I'll upload it

I just tried flashing this file (through twrp right?). It doesn't look like it worked through TWRP I got an "Updated process ended with error=1, error flashing 1.24.1.zip", and busybox is still not present on the phone when I restarted it. I tried downloading it from the play store directly and it still gives me the "it looks like it was not installed successfully" error message. Should I be flashing this file some other way? Thanks in advance!

[ROOT] One Click Root for Bluestacks 2

Hi there.
As you already know, Blustacks 2 has announced and it is amazing! Much better than first version! I know that many of you are already seeking to root it, so I'm going to tell you how to do it.
I tried Framaroot, Towelroot and KingRoot to root Bluestacks 2. Only KingRoot managed to root newest version of Bluestacks correctly.
All you have to do is just to download KingRoot apk from official XDA thread, install it on Bluestacks and run it. KingRoot will do the rest automatically.

Hey there! Thanks for the tutorial. I like using older versions of KingRoot because you're able to use various methods to change KingUser into SuperSU, however, newest version of KingRoot (which is the only one that works to root BS2, doesn't install KingUser in the same fashion that the older versions did. Any idea if there is still a way to get SuperSU up and running with the newer version of KingRoot? Thanks!

I haven't tried it. I'll try later to install SuperSU.
P.S. Please, don't quote whole op.
Bluestacks 2 Root
I tried to install SuperSU, tried several things, failed several times but it doesn’t work. There is only one option left to install SuperSU and that is through SuperSume app (Read Here). Just install it, open it, run it, wait for it (It will take some time). It will automatically uninstall KingRoot and install SuperSU after that. Once it’s done you are good to go.
Well, I've done all that to a T, but, whenever Super-Sume finishes, it DOES put Super Su on my Bluestacks. And, after I do the reboot for Super Su, it tells me the binary is out of date...
I haven't found an answer for this yet so hopefully someone can help.
I rooted Bluestacks 2 with KingRoot then removed removed KingRoot with SuperSuMe and kept root with SuperSu. After a couple reboots both Bluestacks and windows, I somehow lost Root in Bluestacks. Ok, no biggie. I'll just reroot using KingRoot again and replace it with SuperSu. Again, after a couple reboots, I lost root again.
Has anyone been able to keep root in BlueStacks and remove KingRoot?
i installed kingroot and rooted bluestacks but when i try to run xmod for games a message pop ups saying root your divice.
please help me

Did not know it can be rooted ?!
Root
With Bluestack easy it can be rooted
You should only change the files with the SuperSU 2.70 and use the su.pie
\Bluestacks Easy\input\Add\Root
inside I put
busybox 1.24.1
su (x86 su.pie)
Superuser.apk
Bluestacks Easy\input\Root
change su3 and Superuser3.apk
Bluestacks Easy\input\Add
libsupol.x86
supolicy.x86
I do not know if this is necessary or just the file in input\Root
Bluestack version 2..1.7.5658
other versions of SuperSU gave me trouble to update the binaries
I apologize if my English is not good
I have Bluestacks version 2.2.19.6015 . KingRoot works ,but every time i restart Bluestacks the root dissapears.I tried changed KingRoot to SuperSu with Supersume but the root still dissapeared when i restarted Bluestacks.
I would like to try to root Demicro's way ,but i don't understand everything he says. Maybe he can detail a little about where to get those files and with what to change.
how to root bluestack v 2.2.???
i m unable to root bluestack v2.2 by bluestack easy v3.5, as the filesystem of bluestack has changed from root.fs to root.vdi ( virtual disk image).
plz anyone help us to root bluestack v2.2
Somehow I tried that too in Bluestacks original and it did the same thing, I think because the system is virtual and that affects the rooted process, I rooted the bluestacks and it went successful but after I rebooted to use xposed framwork, after it reboots, it losted its root access, weird thing that kingroot detected it as a Samsung device. Peace

Thats because XMOD does not work on any emulator, including bluestacks. I dont even know if they support x86 /x64 yet...
who can i find this old version 2 from dez 2015 for root to download?
Does not work
KR is not working on BS2
Yup, it's not working...
Thanks!
Doesnt work
Even the kingroot app doesnt work. It is identifying my device as my phone which is Asus-T00J which i sold it away a few months ago. Do i have to logout from my google account for the kingroot to access the bluestacks?? because it always says "your phone is on the queue for rooting" or something...
