Hi all. I've read through a few threads here and I've followed their instructions regarding getting Snapchat working.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but i cannot get the app to work. I'm currently using the "On the edge" ROM and i have tried removing xposed framework via recovery and also unrooted however still no joy I'm afraid. Also i did try the root cloak module through xposed however that didn't work for me either [emoji20]
Any insights would be great!

Any luck? Do you have links to the instructions on how to get it working?
try to:
install stock rom
install Snapchat and login
make a backup of Snapchat (apk and data)
install the "on the edge" rom
restore the Snapchat backup
try it

Hi
I don't know this is good section - if wrong, please move
I've made some research why Snapchat doesn't work on rooted phone with Xposed.
So, many people say, that Snapchat checks Android for root, SuperSu, etc.
It's not true. I've installed Snapchat on my rooted Xperia Z2 and it worked.
Done factory reset, installed Xposed Framework ,installed Xposed Installer and it didn't want to log in.
So I thought that snapchat maybe checks OS for Xposed, not as it's said for root and SuperSU.
I have done the same on Galaxy S5, Xperia E4g and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact on Android 4.4.2, 4.4.4, 5.0 and 5.1.1 and the results were the same.
So I decided to do everything another way and it works!
My theory that snapchat checks for Xposed once was correct!
To make Snapchat working you have three ways:
1. Clear data of snapchat, uninstall snapchat, uninstall Xposed Installer and flash Xposed Uninstaller zip via recovery. Then after reboot install snapchat, log in, use for some time (5-15 minutes) and then install Xposed Framework via recovery and install Xposed Installer and it should work.
2. Another way is to factory reset, clean install of ROM, installation of Snapchat, log in, use for some time, and Xposed Installation - this is the method which gives 100% certainty it'll work
3. The last way is RootCloak, but it doesn't work correctly, so I don't recommend it.
Hope method nr. 2 will work for you like it worked for me guys

IIRC, When you have a rooted device, Snapchat refuses to work? Has that been rectified?

Snapchat only refuses to work when you have Xposed installed. At least that's my experience. So Everytime I flash a ROM I make sure to log into Snapchat BEFORE I reboot for the first time after restoring Xposed and it's modules through TiBu.

It also blocks root users from logging in now. Install snapchat and log in before rooting.
I use a Titanium Backup of the app in its logged in state and restore that to any phone with root/Xposed.
Snapchat doesn't work with rootcloak and rooted phones anymore.
Does anyone know how to get snapchat working with a rooted phone. I have already tried removing XDA Framework and using rootcloack and it didn't.
I refuse to remove root.

I don't use snapchat myself but know from other people that it's working on rooted devices when
A) you install snapchat and login on a unrooted device and then apply root, it seems to work fine when you root a device when snapchat is already running
OR
B) use magisk su, you can download magisk manager from Playstore and depending on your set-up you can flash the necessary files from within the app or flash a zip from recovery in addition to the app from Playstore, magisk has a hide option and is able to make rooted devices pass safetynet, therfore snapchat is working, see here:

Hey guys! I got problem. I can not logged to snapchat with my NOTE EDGE (SM-N915FY) on THAT ROM. I try backup by titanium backup in stock rom where I can log in before I rooted it. But when i restore apk+data after few second snapchat automaticly logged of me. I have no idea why this don't work. Maybe someone have the same problem and solve it. Help me! I use magisk root with hide but on stock and custom rom they don't pass SafetyNet and i don't know why.
Hey just saw this by coincidence and know the problem and the solution:
Snapchat gets blocked on rooted ROMs including rooted stock ROMs. I managed to get it to work by doing Titanium backup of a working version and then restoring it on my rooted device. Have a look at the two links below. Instead of Bluestacks as some recommend, I'd probably use the Nox Android player. Getting root on it is easy:

Good luck.
Do have xposed installed? I had to remove it first and reinstall it after I logged in

Sir how can I go back in kitkat version of note smn9w816
Hello there
I am running a custom ROM on my Galaxy S8 and it is rooted using Magisk rather than SuperSU. SnapChat works fine with Magisk as it does not detect the root, however I've tried everything with the Barclays Mobile App but I just get stuck on the first screen and nothing happens afterwards.
At first it used to ask me to grant it root permissions and of course I did, but it has never actually worked.
I am not completely sure, but I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that my device is rooted.
Can someone please shed some light on this? I really need to get this application working as it is important for me. Do I have to go back to completely stock in order to use this application?
Thanks!
yes, it doesn't work on rooted devices. One of the ways that it tries to detect root is by trying to get root, as it happened in you case. By granting it root access, you marked your phone as rooted, and disabled the app. In case you were wondering, it has many other ways to detect root. It used to work with magisk hide, but I tried just today, and it seems that they can detect it too, as I can't use it anymore. By the way, your phone is flagged as rooted, and you will either have to do a factory reset to get it working, or call Barclays, but I think that there is no way to get it working. If you find out how to get it to work, please share it.
