if anyone can use them, for reasons that i won't bother you all wit, i have a stream of excitingly broken XDA's and silmilar cluttering up my desk, and the pile only gets bigger.
I'm happy to post them to anywhere in the UK gratis, though i probably shan't bother with registered mail - here's what is sitting glaring at me at the moment. NONE OF THEM HAVE BATTERIES - they're too useful to let go, so maybe you want one to experiment with in some foul xda style Frankenstein fashion, or maybe you just want to take one apart, that's quite fun actually if you've had a really bad day in the office.
1) an HTC 3300 - it just won't boot, or even show a charging light. Before it died, it would perform a soft reboot whenever you put the stylus back in the housing
2) 2 XDA IIs's - cracked screens, one from a motorbike accident, and one from being sat on by some one who thought they would keep their XDA safe by covering it if Velcro, which promptly stuck to the back of his big ignorant arse... the rest writes itself
3) an Eten G500 - won't charge, dented screen, and they are **** in the first place. You can have the battery on this one, as they tend to expand with age in an alarming fashion - which is why the back cover is missing.
4) a T mobile Compact III with a crack across the screen, genuine accident, i'm happy to report
5) a Qtek 2020i, a victim of a road rage incident.
First come, first serve, i assume there is some clever soul out here who could do something useful with them, my ONLY condition being that if you get any or some working, you share the wealth as it were, and make sure someone else here gets happy too

yes you did, i will clear it... and you should be a little more gentle on your devices
How much to post the 3300 to Berlin, DE 10405?
Thanks!
did i understand right ? (english not so good...)
you will give away all the broken pda´s for free ?
i need new buttons for my xda 2s, because my buttons doesn´t work.
maybe i will take them.
can you ship to germany ??? (of course i will pay shipping)
blimey, you lot are quick
ok, so there is a Compact III off to Sean, a IIS to wmvfan, and the 3300 to itschase - i'll check postage and so on later today - unless anyone knows how many first class stamps i should use, which would be helpful - and thank you for tidying up shogun
i promise you my XDA (Stellar, at the moment, though i'm constantly torn between that and the Orbit) is loved like a family member. It's an occupational hazard for the ones out on the road. I have one that was run over by a UPS van glued to my stock room door - it looks like something from a cartoon
ok, the postman is here soon - i still need addresses for itschase and Andrew - this leaves me with a IIs and a Qtek - it looks very much as though i will be adding a dead Orbit to the list, which breaks my heart.
Dibs on the Orbit
damn, wouldnt have minded an orbit
I sent you a PM with my address. Is it too late?
Thank you!
well, the current state of play is that i have an XDAIIS and a Qtek 2020i left, though someone has asked for one or the other - there may well be a dead orbit to add to the list, but with this level of interest maybe we should have some sort of competition - i do have your address itsis #thumb#
you dont mess about do you. mines just come through the door!
through the letterbox, rather than letting itself in with the spare keys, i hope.
all p of the s Sean, otherwise they would end up as landfill, so we're being green.
Well if nobody wants the last one you can send me that one also if you like. i wont be selfish and keep it for myself mind. i will try and repair it and then sell it on ebay and then what ever the profit is i will donate to xda-devs. be good to have a mess about with more WM devices
if the xdaiis is still available i would like to have it,i have one here i need a usb/charger connector for
u still got the orbit??
whats wrong with it??
i will send u my address
have you got the xda iis still, i am am intersted, and what is the postahe cost to bradford uk.
Well, let's hit this dead thread...
Do you still have any device left? If so, could you PM me?
Thank you
Do you still have any left? Please let me know if you do by pm me, thanks!
Still some left ?
Thanks
My old TP2 is about to die on me, has a blueish screen from water, bad speaker and camera from water, dents and scratches in screen, and over-heats frequently
I'm just wondering if somebody on XDA would be kind enough to donate a phone to me? Any old used phone is ok, I just need something else, as my TP2 doesn't have much life in it anymore, but it was great while it lasted!
PM or post here if you can help me out, I would really really appreciate it, thanks.
Don't beg, get your lazy ass out and start earning.
Hi guys,
so few hours ago, being the idiot I obviously am, I forgot my Legend outside on my deck, and tonight, mother nature also decided to teach me a cruel lesson and shed rain on top of my poor now damaged Legend. So far I can't do much to the phone, but I do still have my warranty with HTC, but the problem is, it's rooted and I need to know if there's anyway to unroot it right now being in the system it is? The trackpad still works, touch screen however, is now messed up and swipes down for the notification icon whenever I swipe sideways though. Feel free to criticize me. I think I deserve quite a bit of it.
Oops wrong sections. Sorry. Please ignore.
sorry if this had been mentioned elsewhere, but I had no luck searching
I bought my phone for a great price; and understand that people normally replace the entire lcd digitizer, which I see online for about $140-$200
but I found this for sale (about $10) which I imagine, is for replacing only the glass
-LINK posted in comments section
for me, it's definitely worth asking because the lcd seems to perform flawlessly, only the glass is damaged (would save lots of cash)
ultimately, I'm looking for a tutorial on how to perform the glass lens replacement (if possible)
I did find this video of a guy doing it on the GSIII, not sure if its a fake though
-LINK, will leave links in a comment
A local tech who I've worked with on previous phones told me this is not possible lol, so I have to ask on XDA!
thanks to everyone who chimes in even with a small bit of info
cheers and best regards,
-Ømar

It's not fake, check the video I posted in the q&a section. I think the trick is just having adequate heat, so you need to use a $20 heat gun instead of a hair dryer. Would appreciate more feedback though...a bit surprised to not see anyone else doing this.

haha man... I messed up the repair and damaged it more than it was, its a very delicate process that takes some skill, plus the glass is thinner than the thicker Galaxy S 3's so its harder to accomplish,
i ended up scoping the local shops who do the whole lcd digitizer replacement, and found a good price locally and had them do it, cost me around $200 which sucked since i got the phone for $35 but really not bad at all in the end, its perfect now

So my screen is secerly cracked but amazingly its still repsonsive ive seen nillkin iloome and a couple othwrs but since this is an s pen screen i wanted to ask people who deal with the 8.0. I cant afford a fix.or at least im assuming i cant. So any suggestions would be a huge help for me
Edit: i have amazon prime and use ebay so if you have a certain seller or item youve had great luck with if love to hear about them, especially if i can dhave off a few bucks or free shipping but ultimately i will go for whatever helps me survive this even if my beloved device is osmetically challenged

Buy only the glass and change it yourself?
How difficult is this? Is there a tutorial link. I have tremors and spasticity in hands from spinal disease but I may give it a try if double. Thanks for the response. Any other thoughts are welcomed and appreciated

does your screen cracked severely or small crack only? if small, you could go for glass screen protector only for $9 just to hold the glass stable with pressure spread evenly. if it hinder your usage i suggest replacing would be an option because note 8 is still a great device and i use it a lot in my study so for me repairing it would be a great investment. if you thought about changing it yourself, its not that hard but still need a stable hand but still very moderate for people with no experience. Just think about it, buying a new tablet is a waste unless you get tablet that is more powerful than note 8.
edit: Im sorry for your hand, i hope you get better soon
edit again: you might want to consider replacing it sooner, with a crack, unwanted things can get through the crack and can damage the internal if you're not careful
