[Completed] Eonon GA2114 Wiring Mod - XDA Assist

I'm a real Noobie both to this forum and to Android devices, anyway, I have installed a GA2114 head unit and all works fine but I was considering a slight mod to the installation. Instead of connecting the head to the ACC line I am considering connecting it to a permanent live. I know this will put a slight drain on the battery but I am thinking it will be a bit like closing the lid of a laptop and putting the unit into sleep mode when the head unit is switched off.
Before I make it permanent I will check the current drain using a multimeter and, if it is low enough for it to be a viable proposition, can anyone tell me if it is likely to have any detrimental effect on the Android system itself.
As witth my laptops I would not leave it in "sleep" mode continuously, I'd probably give it a full reboot about once a week (I would have a switch to cut the supply mounted in the glovebox).
Can anyone advise me on this? Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, thanks for your reply and advice, being a bit of chancer I went ahead with the mod and connected the HU ACC line to the permanently live line via an in line fuse and isolating switch. The current draw with the HU switched off is 1.4 milliamps, that is a lot less than my ECU, on board trip computer, clock, etc. so I don't see it as being a problem.
The mod had the desired effect, bypassing the boot stage from "sleep" mode and starting in the last used configuration. If I encounter any problems with this setup I will report them on this site so that others tempted to do the same can learn by my mistakes.
For long term parking, airports etc., the supply can be killed by the isolating switch should anyone be worried about getting a flat battery.
Many thanks again for your reply. :good::good:

[Completed] iOS root

Anybody know if it's possible to fool iTunes and make Lollipop or Marshmallow look like an iOS backup? College is giving me one of those new iPads, and aside from Apple Music I have almost no experience with iOS. I'll likely need to root the thing first, but is it possible? I've spent far too much time making everything work perfectly on, not to mention pretty much my entire life is routed through, Android.
If it is possible, will I still be able to utilize the smooth button thingy? Or the camera?
If not, please explain. I'm not particularly great with software; I'm a mechanical person.

[Completed] Running Smartphone without battery

Hello, I have a fake Samsung (Chinese) smartphone. It used to work but, It was lost and I found it. Battery gone bigger and now screen is a little bit apart of the case (like 3-4 mm).
Now I would like to use this smartphone without battery. I researched a little bit and I found a video of an Indian guy on youtube that shows which wire will be soldered to where. (Because I am new, I can't insert links to this post. The video is "Use your phone without a battery....USB phone.....Works for android like charm" on Youtube.)
But his smartphone has 3 terminals and mine has 4 of them. I am not sure of where to solder them. Can you help me, please?

[Completed] Is it possible to track a GPS-enabled phone without the internet?

I am planning to give my phone to my little sister. The thing is, we want to keep track of her. In my own theory, there is an "Identification" of the GPS, or something? Am I wrong?
With that, can I have my phone be "tracked" using a certain app? That is, before I give it to her, I have to set this thing up so we could get track of her.
If SIM card is also a possible method, the phone has it.
This might be breaking her privacy, but we just care about her much. Please respond! Thanks!

[Completed] Did I get screwed?

I bought a "Bqeel MXR Quad Core Android 5.1 Tv Box" from Amazon but it came loaded with an older version of Android and it came with an ancient version of all of the software. It is also incredibly broken in many features, I can't do a system reset because when I hit the button it does absolutely nothing, it makes the click noise and animation but nothing actually happens. It also has a strange bug where I genuinely can't install anything even though there is like 5GB of memory on it. This sucks because I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kodi, the uninstall worked great but now I can't install it again. It also freezes all of the time and the OS is absolute garbage and doesn't look like the one people are posting on the reviews. What do I do?
EDIT: Lastly, I plan on most likely returning it, what is the BEST android/kodi tv box out there for less than $100?

[Completed] Please help me! My Samsung Tablet GT-N5100 cannot be open.

Please help me. Everytime I am plugging the charger to my tablet model GT-N5100, the battery sign appears but just keeps on blinking and did not show a green color that is increasing indicating that the tablet is charging, and even when I try to click the power button for so long, it won’t open. I used 2 different kinds of charger, the same incident happened. I used both chargers to charge one for my cellphone and another for my pocket wifi. The chargers did a good job, but not with my tablet. I think the problem is in my device alone. Are you aware of this problem? Maybe you guys can advice me on what should I do. Thank you soooo much! Help is very much appreciated.
