[Completed] Did I get screwed? - XDA Assist

I bought a "Bqeel MXR Quad Core Android 5.1 Tv Box" from Amazon but it came loaded with an older version of Android and it came with an ancient version of all of the software. It is also incredibly broken in many features, I can't do a system reset because when I hit the button it does absolutely nothing, it makes the click noise and animation but nothing actually happens. It also has a strange bug where I genuinely can't install anything even though there is like 5GB of memory on it. This sucks because I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Kodi, the uninstall worked great but now I can't install it again. It also freezes all of the time and the OS is absolute garbage and doesn't look like the one people are posting on the reviews. What do I do?
EDIT: Lastly, I plan on most likely returning it, what is the BEST android/kodi tv box out there for less than $100?

[Completed] iOS root

Anybody know if it's possible to fool iTunes and make Lollipop or Marshmallow look like an iOS backup? College is giving me one of those new iPads, and aside from Apple Music I have almost no experience with iOS. I'll likely need to root the thing first, but is it possible? I've spent far too much time making everything work perfectly on, not to mention pretty much my entire life is routed through, Android.
If it is possible, will I still be able to utilize the smooth button thingy? Or the camera?
If not, please explain. I'm not particularly great with software; I'm a mechanical person.

[Completed] I want to upgrade my phone software, but do not understand this site.

I recently was given an Android watch as a present. My phone is a Casio Commando 4G. I know it is several years old, but I really like the phone. I heard it was possible to upgrade your phone with a custom rom. I need to upgrade it to Android 4.3, thought if were possible to run Marshmallow, I would like to consider it. I do not know if my phone can handle any of this, and I'm fairly new to this sort of thing, so I may sound quite adorable in a negative sense. I do plan on buying the Cat S60, so I am just trying to squeeze life out of my phone until then. Any advice on roms will help! Thank you.

[Completed] Running Smartphone without battery

Hello, I have a fake Samsung (Chinese) smartphone. It used to work but, It was lost and I found it. Battery gone bigger and now screen is a little bit apart of the case (like 3-4 mm).
Now I would like to use this smartphone without battery. I researched a little bit and I found a video of an Indian guy on youtube that shows which wire will be soldered to where. (Because I am new, I can't insert links to this post. The video is "Use your phone without a battery....USB phone.....Works for android like charm" on Youtube.)
But his smartphone has 3 terminals and mine has 4 of them. I am not sure of where to solder them. Can you help me, please?

[Completed] Reviving a couple of old phones.

I got two phones just stashed in a place, instead of collecting dust I thought it could be better if I could experiment and much better try to revive it. The two phones are Lenovo A800 (full specs are in GSMarena) they have pretty low specs with 512MB ram and 1.65 user-available free space.
Here are their statuses:
Phone 1 is able to charge and show that it is charging, but can't boot up or reach even in the logo splash screen. I tried reflashing a clean room using the SP Flash Tool, but nothing changed. I am now suspecting that the power button is broken.
Phone 2 works. It can boot properly but is bombarded by "Unfortunately app has stopped" messages". Could it be that apps of today has finally beaten the phone itself? I looked at the free space, only ~30MB is free out of 1.7GB.
Are there any ways or chances to bring the phones back to service?

[Completed] make old android phone faster

I am using the old Huawei g300. it's a 1Ghz single core processor and only has 512mb ram and only 388MB of that ammount can be used.
this device originally comes with android 2.3 GingerBread.
later on I updated my phone to 4.0, big mistake. about 2 years ago I installed a custom rom, called Tesla, also android 4.0 but at least was faster than the original. today is what I use, but my phone is old, has about 5-6 years, using the camera became a dream, a wish LOL. I want to use skype in it, but it's a bit hard, laggs and crashes.
I want to make my device faster, but I don't know how. I have an app called greenify that hibernates apps, but the performance boost is not enough. what else can I do?
