Hello guys,
I find a lot of info in the forum talking about the question in the title of this post.
To be more clear I´m a bit confussed about what to do, I come from a hard brick few days ago and I don´t want to mess up with my 1+1.
I find 2 post http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/discussion-xposed-modules-5-1-lolipop-t3075257 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 I think that I can use without problems Xposed + Greenify module on my 1+1 with 5.1. I´m right? If not please correct me, I don´t want more bricks!!!
Thanks in advance.

Hello again,
I forget to mention if I must install ONLY the apk provided in the main post of xPosed or I should install the apk and flash through recovery the zip file named xposed-sdk21-arm-20150430.zip.
I´m a bit confussed, in my last phone I only install the APK and install the modules that I want.
Thanks in advance.

For lollipop you must follow these instructions on 5.1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/super-alpha-posted-permission-xposed-t3072979
So yes, you have to install also the framework from recovery (zip) and then the app.

Hello davebugyi,
Ok, first flash the zip through recovery and then reboot and install the app. Anyway I´m reading the instruction thread that you post in your previous post before do something.
Thanks again for all your help.
Hello guys,
When I try to flash xposed zip I get the next error "E: Error executing updater binary in zip NAME OF THE ZIP"
What can I do?
Thanks in advance.
Possibly a bad download.
Download it again and see if it works then.

Hello and thanks again for your time, I download again the zip fily and flash it through TWRP 2.8.6.0. I get the exact same error, I don´t know how to proceed or even how to get a more detailed log from TWRP. What do you suggest?
Okay so exactly which ROM are you running?
Which Kernel?
Make sure you are on the latest TWRP recovery found here: https://dl.twrp.me/bacon/
In terms of the Xposed framework, be sure you download the zip file from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/super-alpha-posted-permission-xposed-t3072979
And then the APK from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
let me know how that goes down.

Hello mate!!
I totally forget to tell what ROM and Kernel I use I´m running BlissPop build 20150515-1013 with Metallized Kernel.
Also I´m running TWRP 2.8.6.0 so I´m updting it and download the Xposed zip and APK from your post. If I understand it properly I must download and flash the ARM version of Xposed right?
I'm running the newest release of Blisspop (26052014) update to that too.
Yes the ARM, but not the 64bit version, the top file listed under the main post.
I can confirm Xposed works blissfully too, I use amplify and Greenify too.

I follow all your steps and use your links and update to latest Bliss Rom and now I can flash the zip and install the APK of Xposed and Greenify + Greenify donation. All seems to be ok, but I´m having extrange wifi problems due to latest version of the ROM, do you think that this can be caused for all this process?
Also do you recommend to buy Amplify, it´s worth the investment?
Thanks again for all your help!!
EDIT: I forget to reboot, Boost mode ON!!!
Great stuff, glad to be of service.
In terms of amplify yes it is worth every penny, but takes some getting used to in to how it works. But when used in conjunction with greenify the results are awesome. Bear in mind you have to spend a few days monitoring battery drain using better battery stats or gsam to gain an understanding of what is going on.
Any problems, send me a PM.

I read that Exposed Installer has been updated. Does anyone know if it would work with the 5.1.1 Update that Tmo and Metro Stylo got?
Only way to find out is to try. I'll be backing up and trying in a bit.
well it said it installed in twrp, but when i rebooted, it stayed on the lg screen for longer than usual...then it finally went to the metro screen but it just stayed there for a long time so i panicked and pulled the battery.
i was able to restore my backup and i thought i read somewhere that i may need busybox installed...even though i thought busybox got installed when i did the one click root, i went ahead and installed it from the playstore to try again.
again it said it installed in twrp, this time i let it stay on the metro screen even longer but it seemed like it was stuck so i restored a backup...do you think i just need to wait longer? also do i really need busybox installed?
im tempted to restore my 5.02 backup and see what happens if i try to install the 5.0 version...

BusyBox is needed so that some things that require root work correctly like Viper4Android, but it's not needed for everything
I had the same problem with it staying on the carrier screen for 30 minutes before I gave up. Seems it just won't work as it currently stands.

found these instructions in Italian on how to install without recovery pasting them in English (rough google translation):
ith this tutorial we see how to install Xposed Framework on a phone with Android
Lollipop without recovery!
Cost:
Root
Busybox installed on the device (and also installed files busybox, just open the app)
Terminal Emulator installed on the device
Package XposedLollipop taken from this video.
1- Download the package by pressing the link
2- Unzip
3- Put the contents of the root (in the main memory of the phone,
no subfolders) of the device.
4- Install Xposed (the apk is among the file you just put into the device) BUT do not open it
5- Open the terminal emulator and type "su" after which you type: sh / sdcard / installer
and press enter.
6- 1 and press enter.
7- Wait for the procedure, after restart and you Xposed properly installed
PS: procedure performed perfectly on MEIZU MX4 which as you know does not have recovery mod, works on all phones MA may be different from the path where installed so placed in the root of the file and make sure that it's called "sdcard", should have a other name you have to use that! eg sh / card / installer
link to the video with his links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDInZYNrEr8 if this does work then us Boost User's can enjoy it too , but i have no idea if it does work
and if it doesnt work? i wouldnt try anything fancy without having twrp to restore a backup (or at least a kdz)...are you gonna try that method?

Just wondering if anyone had any luck with the workarounds for our device? If so please post what ROM's work and which workaround worked. Also post whether the boot loader needed to be locked or not. I have been working since I found the official app last night, but So far no luck. I'm trying many custom ROMS as I don't really want another stock ROM, Hence why I am rooted. Anyway, any help would be boss! Thanks!
For me, it just has Google Play Services crashing whenever I try to add a card. This was after disabling SuperSU.

did you try stock rooted thats my next attempt after I charge phone up a little. I been reading up and it seems stock rooted with supersu removing stock or xposed rootcloak work. Just nandroid and try it out nobody says you have to use it but if that works it may give us an insight on what to target for getting it to work
Yes, so far I believe thats what I read. At this point I have read a lot. The two methods involve unchecking enable superuser in supersu and then the root cloak method via xposed. Neither have worked in every custom ROM so far. I may try CM nightlies tho.
just an fyi i tried stock for the hell of it and it worked with just unchecking supersu root option. Maybe a buildprop edit to trick it to think its a basic stock rom may work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-cyanogen-os-12-1-rooted-cleaned-t3187016
Update. I have found a mothod that works, haven't tried the "pay" part, but I have Android Pay activated and working. The above link is the a rooted ROM with some mods that works. Its CM OS 12.1 and seems pretty stable, etc.
The method I used
1 Bootloader is locked. Just so you know. But all operations will function that you need.
1 Install ROM (use the link above for details, NO GAPPS NEEDED)
2 DENY ROOT/SUPERSU installation.
3 Boot ROM as normal
4 Open SuperSU
5 Click Enable SuperSU (This disables it/Unchecks the box. You will see a prompt saying uninstalling SuperSU)
6 Reboot
7 Install Google Play Services then Android Pay (APK's found on the web, GPS is 8.1.13)
8 Open Android Pay and follow prompts to install cards
9 Open SuperSU and recheck Enable SuperSU
At this point the phone is rooted and Android Pay is set up. I tried to do another card but got the same old error "cannot verify Android bs."
My conclusions:
If the ROM has a root option under developer settings, then Android Pay will not work. This ROM does NOT have that but instead has SuperSU installed. ROMS that have both will NOT function, I tried 3 or 4 today that did not work. I imagine they need to be CM based at this time as well. I bet someone better than me will come up with a better solution. This combination works for me. If anyone needs help, PM me. Also, If anyone has anything to add, Please do! Thanks!!!

basicaly what I was saying it works on stock ONEPlus roms only it seems and you just have to deny root when adding cards. I tried to use lil while ago but it said my cards were not available yet to use with Android Pay
Just wanted to chime in with my post from another thread to consolidate threads:
I am running COS 12.1, rooted, with an unlocked bootloader. I recently upgraded to Android Pay after using Google Wallet for NFC payments for years on my old GS4 and my OnePlus One.
At first, I was unable to add my payment card due to being rooted. Easily fixed, I unrooted using SuperSU to do a full unroot and was able to add my card and complete the app setup.
The showstopper is that whenever I try to use it at a merchant, I end up with a screen that says Confirm your password - you must unlock to use Android Pay. No matter how many times I enter my password it just keeps asking over and over. I disabled the quick unlock feature under lock screen settings just in case that was the issue, but it made no difference. An ongoing support case with Google just came back with the following:
"The specific error message that you saw means that your device can't support Android Pay's advanced security. It seems that the phone manufacturer has modified the operating system to the point where it is no longer compatible with our software. You may want to use Android Pay on a different device for the most secure payments."
just as an update i re-flashed stock rom and realized using xposed and make any additional changes to the system folder causes it not to work whether I have supersu checked off or not. Now with that said i have it working fine with stock and having supersu loaded from twrp and play store nothing else. I also set up a tasker command to uncheck supersu prior to me using Android Pay. 1 click I guess I waas being lazy

I have tried disabling root and root cloak. I am on Exodus rom and it has "morph mode" where I tried both methods in Exodus mode and AOSP mode. If this helps narrow down the problem.
For me on Exodus (haven't tried any of the morph modes), the unlocked bootloader seems to be the culprit. Hopefully someone figures out a workaround.

bootloader is not the problem. Android Pay is looking for more than likely specific files in your system that are missing in AOSP or custom roms. I flashed stock and as long as I uncheck SuperSu its been working fine for me. I have added several cards over the past week

Does anyone have the apk for the version of Google Wallet right before the update to Android Pay? I'd like to at least have something that works.

android authority has it and if you do a google search for it you will find it. also know that you have to un-tick auto updates in Google Play. I wiped data in Google play, Google Play Services prior to installing the now outdated version. I had to do this so that when I loaded the older version it will try and update the moment you try and set it up.
Has anyone attempted to install xposed on the honor 8?
Yes, works. Arm64.
I can confirm, XPosed can be installed...
Albeit it seems to have a "small" bug - for me the dialer did stop working when xposed was installed (could not make any call)
V86 ARM64 xposed by rovio...
will need to investigate further.
Can anyone confirm/deny/did find a workaround?
I have xposed and dialer is working fine. Maybe it's some particular mod you've installed.
I tried installing xposed from this link http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk23/arm64/ but I'm always getting a bootloop. Did you use another zip file?

I confirm the 'Dialer' bug you're facing. I have faced the same bug on all of the Honor devices I have owned. Whenever I hit the 'Call' button, the app crashes. A simple reboot does fixes the problem but it soon re-appears. No fix for it though.

About magisk,
you have to unroot your device from SuperSU. After that flash the stock boot image if available (unrooting from SuperSU usually suffices but if it doesn't works, it better to flash stock boot image)
About Xposed dialer bug (on EMUI only), yes as far as I know, I never experienced any crashes while accepting calls.

i feel extremely stupid here. i'm reading on the magisk thread and i don't understand at all.
i got a honor 8 (FRD-L09) and i've rooted it, like i mentioned earlier.
can you please help me with the steps i need to take to unroot and whatever else i need to do to flash magisk?
i can't find stock rom for my FRD-L09, so what do you suggest? just doing a full factory reset, flashing twrp, flashing magisk, rooting, restoring to the backup i create before doing the factory reset.
what do you think about those steps and in that order? if you think i need to change something or add another step please let me know.
not sure if that's enough to unroot the device, i'm also really uncertain about the correct magisk version/file i need to flash for my device. other xposed versions have different files for arm, arm64 and x86, but here there's only one file. am i missing something or does this work on all versions? or have i misunderstood how it works?
sorry about throwing so many questions at you but i'm really confused about this.

i feel extremely stupid here. i'm reading on the magisk thread and i don't understand at all.
i got a honor 8 (FRD-L09) and i've rooted it, like i mentioned earlier.
can you please help me with the steps i need to take to unroot and whatever else i need to do to flash magisk?

Take a complete backup just in case.
Perform a full unroot via SuperSU (find it in Settings). It will restore the modded files with the original ones hence reverting your boot image to the stock one.
Perform a full Factory reset. (remember to backup crucial data before attempting it)
Download B101 FRD-L09 stock ROM from here: http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?file=dload-honor-8-frdl09-frd-b101.zip
Extract the downloaded zip. There will be two folders, 'Part 1' and Part 2'. On your external SD card, create a folder 'dload'. Copy 'Update.APP' from 'Part 1' to the dload folder in your SD card. Power down the device. Hold Power Button + Volume Up + Volume Down buttons until you see the Honor logo. Your device will now automatically start installing the complete stock ROM. If in case your device boots to TWRP, then follow the below steps:
Download Huawei Update Extractor from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
Use Huawei Update Extractor to extract RECOVERY from the Update.APP inside 'Part 1'.
Use 'fastboot' to flash the stock recovery.
Now try installing the Update.APP. This time it will work. Repeat the steps for Update.APP inside 'Part 2'
You're now on fresh stock ROM.
Download magisk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=19960&task=get and flash it via TWRP.

thnx. i followed your steps, with a few added ones. i didn't realize that my bootloader would lock up again after flashing stock so i had to unlock it and reflash twrp.
i did wonder about the root since all phones have different root versions and he's offering a one for all version, but i flashed it and i now got working root.
still not done tho, still got to install the magisk manager and xposed
but thank you so much for you help, really felt like i was fumbling in the dark there for a moment before asking you lol
EDIT:
that it let's you turn the root on and off with a switch is ingenious. but what does it mean that google pay is not working while root is on?

Yes, while the root is on, all applications that include the 'SafetyNet' check will refuse to work (such as Android Pay, Pokemon Go). When you switch it off, everything will start to work again.

Does anyone have issues playing videos with magisk installed, and I mean the flashable magisk not just the magisk manager app

Not a perfect solution but try Flat Style Indicators.

There is a rule to check if modules will work flawlessly on your device or not. It's simple. All modules that were designed keeping AOSP in mind will not work. EMUI is a completely different iteration if Android and hence many of the options in Gravity Box will not work on EMUI.

Thanks for your answer..
I already tested flat style bar but i got some issues .. :/
Gravity box has many customisations, but if almost all not working.. :s
This TWRP can decrypt data partition and you can find 1 click to root function in "advanced" menu (bottom left).
This TWRP is for EMUI 4.1 only!
Instructions:
1. Unlock bootloader and keep your unlock code in record (force flash stock ROM will re-lock the phone)
2. Turn off "Find My Phone"
3. Download the file below and unzip
4.1 Run the exe, it's Chinese UI, but you can see "...bootloader" button for unlock, "...recovery" button is for flash bootloader.
4.2 Or manually flash recovery files via fastboot
5. Root function is located at Advanced menu at bottom left button.

Got my device soon, but I see screenshots of TWRP is working.
The link appears to be dead, but in the meantime I'll try a download from the forum you linked.

Glad to hear that.
I just put up the link this morning and I'll check it up after work.
If anyone was also wondering if Xposed works, I can only say that it does install, it does boot, but the phone 'settings' force closes (no message, just returns to previous window).
Steps taken:
Installed Xposed installer 3.1.1
Installed version 87 (not from recovery)
Rebooted
Reboot takes a long time, but eventually boots. Seems to work fine until I went to the phone settings and it wouldn't open.
Opened the Xposed installer again
Uninstalled (not from recovery)
Maybe results will vary with an older xposed or doing it properly from recovery, not risking it at the moment.

I've updated the link, thanks for pointing out the error.
Just tried flashing Xposed 86 (tried 87 before) through the recovery, also disabled resource hooks in the xposed installer app.
Now everything seems to work.
For anyone that is interested .
Thank you. This worked for me.
What I did:
- unlock bootloader
- access phone bootloader with phone connected to computer
- click app's "...recovery" button and select TWRP recovery file provided with app (the installation is almost instantaneous)
- boot phone into recovery (TWRP will be in Chinese but English is available)
- root phone from TWRP advanced menu (clicking the "root" button will install supersu)
Where was this, when the 5x started development? I already flashed, and rooted my 5x, but would this tool work on that? If so, I can archive it for later use, if needed, or change it, so it could work with the 5x, since they both(at this time) have EMUI 4.1. Is it possible?

I heard that EMUI has a problem with xposed, it's at the start of the honor 5x forums, in development.
Is it easy to unlock bootloader?
I have not yet gotten a 6x, but will soon. Trying to plan custom rom and etc in advance. Its really great that the device has such activity!
In G7, bootloader unlock requires getting a code from Huawei website and took some time before the phone model was on the website. It also did a factory reset after applying the code for which it gave no warning for.
I imagine its similar bit Honor, seeing as Huawei is their parent.

Yes, it's almost the same for 6x to unlock.

For 5X, there is only TWRP, not with the 1-click root function.
Anyone done this on a BLN-L24 yet?
I was gonna wait a while to mess with this thing but I just switched carriers and I need to try and get around the hotspot provisioning check.

Yes, but you simply have to flash SuperSU zip to root.

This one should work on all models of Honor 6x, but again, you have to take the risk...

Success
Was able to find the offending files in system/app that were initiating the carrier hotspot/tethering check...deleted them and now I'm in business.
Also, if anyone is having trouble getting viper4android working (I was), there is a flashable zip in this thread that works. :good:
