Hey guys,
today i switched from my beloved Note 3 to the S7, so i have some questions:
What does tripping KNOX have as downsides appart from not being able to use the KNOX apps( as on my Note 3) and loosing my warranty (which does not affect me as a EU citizen) have?
There is no KNOX 0x0 root for the S7 yet, right? only the CF-Root which does trip KNOX.
Does anyone have experience with the S7 and the GearVR? How is it?
Only one custom Rom (Super Man) for this device? For the Note 3 there were dozens...
I read that i will never get AOSP Roms or CM on the S7? Is that still true or are people finding ways to achieve this?
Thanks in advance

None other known issues for Knox 0x1.
Yes no known root without tripping the else.
GearVR is fun. Look at the gearvr forum.
Yes only one active custom rom for now.
Time will tell about aosp and cm. If bootloader unlock will come sometime for the sd variant I guess there will be. And if there comes working kernel sources for the exynos then maybe they get an aosp rom.

Hi folks, so I have an S4 with knox tripped according what says in Download mode. Is there any way to return the phone as close to stock as possible? Knox is tripped it won't let me flash stock firmware. I use Omega Roms and they have quite a few customisations in there. Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Hello, I have read this thread and I want to know if this tutorial could work for our Galaxy S6 with PingPongRoot.
Has anyone tried it?
Thanks.
Hello,
It will work without impacting Knox if you only want to get root.
But when you will install a custom recovery to flash custom ROM ---> Knox +1...
No choice from now.
Ah cool. I don't feel so bad for tripping knox prior to ping-pong. I don't really mind Samsung pay at the moment anyway.

Seems like someone managed to flash a custom ROM on the S6 using FlashFire without tripping Knox: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/flashfire-t3075433/post60748708
Hello there!
I've heard the really wide spreading fact that Verizon and AT&T lock their S6 bootloaders. My question is, does this apply to unbranded EU phones too or can I upgrade to 5.1.1 without any fear?
Thanks already!
You can upgrade to 5.1.1 without fear as long as the ROM is official and specific to your S6 model number.
Thanks! Well I had the after-thought that rooting without tripping Knox would be impossible on 5.1.1 anyways... I mean there is this dev-kernel-thingy going around but people seem to break more than fix with that...
Its still not possible to root 5.1.1 without tripping knox.
Hey guys
So I have been reading on knox and how it trips warranty.. I am ok with that..
But there is probably only couple of ROM available for EXYNOS ? It is worth rooting? some other forums was reading about instability of bootloaders plaguing the custom rom phones with issues?

I have the same question at all
There are loads of ROMs available for Exynos S7
Anything that relies on KNOX will not run after tripping (If you are on Nougat) such as S.Health, Android/Samsung Pay etc etc
Possible workarounds on the forum to get them working again, plenty of info around, read some threads

Thanks.. is there a thread or list of what exactly doesn't work after rooting and will never work? My concern is that if I root it and want to sell it in future (even after restore) buyer won't be able to use Samsung Pay / Health etc..

SHealth needs a build.prop tweak to work. Samsung Pass, Knox containers and Samsung Pay will need a custom ROM to work again. You shouldn't sell the device without telling the buyer it is Knox tripped and what that involves. Android Pay will still work as tripping Knox doesn't trigger SafetyNet
I rooted my S7 the day I purchased it, haven't gotten any issues ever since. ROOT is a worthy trade-off for voiding KNOX in my opinion.
Dear All,
I'm just discovering this world and I'm thinking to flash a custom ROM to my S8 Exynos because is becoming too slow.
I was reading a lot on internet but I have some questions:
1) I understood that if I flash a new custom ROM I will loose the Knox features, including Samsung Health?
2) I use a Galaxy Active 2 Watch, will it still work with a custom ROM on my S8? Including heart rate and health?
3) If I would turn back to original Samsung firmware, will I revert back the knox features?
Last but not least, which custom ROM would you suggest?
Thanks

Flashing anything besides Official Stock Firmware will trip your Knox. ie: TWRP,root, custom roms etc.
Reverting back to Stock Firmware will not fix your Knox - gone forever.
Best Roms to try i can't really tell you it's really a matter of personal choice. There are a few out there. You will have to check out in the Samsung Galaxy 8 Roms section and if you have any questions ( like no. 2 question ) ask them there. I would recommend reading the first few posts to see what you get and what you don't get and what issues other people have.
I'm on stock rom but i have tried LineageOS on one of my S8 and seems ok.
