I have the idol 3 with cricket - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My reversible mode works great untill you make a call then the phone rotates it self back to its upright position idk how to solve the issue iv tried everything from setting to developer options i need help

Mine is the same. I believe it was removed with the small update...

any solution to this issue?

I'm no developer, but I would imagine it's being forced into "standard" portrait format by the in-call ui. If it's not reverting after the call, I would suggest simply toggling auto-rotate off then back on after the call.

Camera bug with ICS?

I and a coworker who also has a transformer have experienced an issue with the camera. When changing from normal camera mode to panorama mode the camera fails to initiate and doesn't turn on. It's just a black screen.
Anyone else run into this same issue ? It happens vice versa also, from panorama to camera or to video.

Hmm. Well glad me and my buddy aren't the only ones.
So how do we report this bug officially to Asus is the next question.....

Did you update using CWM? I don't have this bug and I updated from OTA.
Same here
Completely stock, B90, SBK2, OTA update. Panorama closes camera app.

Clearing the camera app's cache allowed me to actually use the camera again.
hope Asus (or devs) fix this, would really like to be able to use panorama mode
For the record, I flashed the rooted zip posted here.
It's fine for me. I used the Full CWM file along with a Format...not a wipe
Same issue here, stock unrooted, OTA update B50.

If the rest of the stuff works it's absolutely not worth it trying to fix it. The picture quality it makes is just crappy. Maybe it's the lighting or I am turning it too fast. This is how it looks like.
Same bug here.
B6O
CWM rooted ics.. wiped all
I never use the camera so happy to wait for fix from Asus..
think we need more detailed info to pin this down because i'm not having this issue with my tf. weird that several of you are.
Workaround Fix for Panorama Bug
The panorama camera bug is related to security>screen lock feature in ICS.
I did a full wipe to get the camera working and then I realized it only stopped working after I had set a pin on it.
Apparently if you set it as a pattern, pin, or password it will cause the panorama feature to lock up.
The only way to get it working is by setting your security>screen lock to "none" or "slide".

Wow, good diagnosis. I'll have to try that see if I can also replicate this fix. Unfortunately I need to use a pattern or some sort of lock code. Prying eyes lol. Oh well. I don't really use my tablet as a camera anyways. I just wanted to show off panorama to someone

confirmed.
I put a pattern and when switching to panorama the camera went black then crashed as I switched to normal.

I can confirm panorama worked after removing the PIN feature. I chose the security locksreeen option of None without issue. When I turned PIN back on, it was the same black screen. According to logcat, I didn't see much other than the camera activity being destroyed an activity pause timeout for the PanoramaActivity.
Such an odd thing to cause camera activity to cease. Why in the world is a lockscreen causing issues with switching camera modes? Oh well. Like I said. I can live with it, hopefully a fix is found and pushed to our devices

Resetting Orientation Lock

Hi Guys
I have a leliktec A20 tablet, and recently noticed that it no longer auto rotates. I found the toggle which enables the auto rotate is set to lock orientation. I toggled it to auto rotate, and everything was fine until I allowed the tablet to sleep. When I woke it up again, the toggle was set back to locked (in landscape mode). If I lock it in portrait mode and then sleep the tablet, on waking again its locked in landscape mode.
Factory reset does not fix it. Can anyone think of why this would suddenly happen?
Thanks
Kihon
There must be a bug in the rom flashing it again will not solve this problem in my opinion try updating it if avaliable or you can also chose a custom rom

Try flashing the stock rom or restoring and old nandroid...
Hit thanks rather typing

Found the problem
Found the problem when I noticed I was not getting any sound anymore.
The tablet had decided that the hdmi cable was connected even though it wasn't (hence defaulting to landscape mode and the missing audio). When I put the hdmi lead in and removed it, all of a sudden it worked again!
Thanks again guys.

Skype problem

When I video call somebody and rotate the phone to hold it in landscape it suddenly freezes the call, then there's no video stream of me, it's black screen (the small rectangle) but I can still see the person I'm calling (the big rectangle). From now on the camera doesn't work, the app gives an error, the only solution is to restart the phone. The same version of Skype works flawlessly on my S5 and Moto X.
So it's probably the first major error in my Mate 8 (180, 64gb dualsim)
Can anyone else confirm the issue?

Similar thing here, when you rotate the phone during a videocall via skype, the camera stops working. Seems disabling the camera, rotating the phone and re enabling the camera is a way to bypass the problem. My phone is l29 running b180 kangvip slim. Damn, all these software issues make me want to get rid of the device after only a month of having it ; /
It's been sorted out in 320

Phone Screen suddenly turn black while calling

xz premium suddenly turn black while calling. I suspect the proximity is the culprit but how to fix it without root?? any Idea??
Did it turned off while your phone is on speaker mode?
Sent from my G8142 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Have you tested the proximity with any other apps? Maybe try a different dialer? Try the diagnostic app sony includes with the xzp and see if the proximity reports any problems. There is a way to enter diagnostic mode via the dailer app where you can test the components of the phone. I will try and find the ussd code for it!
I already try Default dialer and Whatsapp call seem dont work. I already try diagnostic loook like cant turn off manually from the diagnostic test. If ppl here know which apps can fix this problem, i really preciate it.

Auto rotate issue

Hi all,
I've been experiencing an issue with my Pixel 2 where the screen is occasionally, and seemingly without rhyme or reason, not rotating to landscape view. It basically gets stuck in portrait mode despite having "auto-rotate" enabled and the only way to resolve is to reboot. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a sensor I need to calibrate? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Same. Stock, rooted with Magisk, running Substratum.
Same but i dont have to reboot, just toggle it from quick settings. Also it sometimes takes several swipes to unlock the phone. Not most of the time, but sometimes. Mostly after the screen has been off for an extended period of time.

For me, it doesn't matter toggling it in quick settings, or even the settings app. It won't rotate unless a fullscreen video or game forces it. After exiting, the screen stays landscape until I toggle off rotation, it snaps back to portrait, then won't leave portrait again, regardless of how many times I toggle autorotation.
Same here. Rotation stops working randomly, and toggling the quick setting does nothing. Only rebooting helps. Phone is completely stock.
Ditto. Just started happening recently for me. Especially annoying when using Android Auto. A restart fixes things for a while, then it goes back to this. Mine is stock as well.
Pixel 2 auto rotate
Mine shuts off randomly and I have to switch it back on
Same problem here too. Yes a reboot does fix, don't know for how long though.
Anyone ever find a way to resolve this? Just started happening on my Pixel 2 XL. It's completely stock. Autorotation is enabled. Super annoying.
