Hi, this thing is trying to kill me for a long time since my Z3 was on 5.1.1.
Ok, in short.
I had this on 5.1.1 (any)
No problem at all on 6.0 (.570/.151)
The problem is back on N Preview (2/3) absolutely vanilla. No root or ad-blocker.
I have to restart my phone every time this happens. Clearing cache will not help at all. It has been said somewhere that this problem is not related to the rom. (Yeah, but I don't think so.)
So, whoever have this problem and fixed can help me out? Or is it the known problem which cannot be fixed?
Thanks in advance.

I assume that you unlocked your bootloader, right?
Same for me. On a locked bootloader and Android N preview 3.. But I do have to say that the problem occured after unlocking my bootloader..
Still, it is locked now, I have my DRM keys restored and it still gives me issues
I might know what's going on. It could be related to some DRM functions when unlocking bootloader. As far as I know downgrading to KK or upgrading to official MM fixes it. Othen then that ROM's like LP, N and MM concept has this problem. I think sony fixed this in official MM. Anyway for Lollipop and Concept you can try to use this fix, but you need root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64763489&postcount=4
It helped for me and it should help for you.
Cheers

Well, this might be the cause. The weird thing is the problem was gone with MM. I'm confused now lol
Btw. I'm on locked right now but I had unlocked the bootloader before.

Thank you so much. I'm on MM right now but if I can get root access on N, I will try and inform you back.
Edit: I completely forgot about that android N rooting thread. It has cool stuff right now so I'm going to unlock and try it right away.
Edit2: That method failed for me so I will try it later when I have time.
I got this problem too on android n preview 3, locked bootloader and not rooted. I noticed that whenever it happens, video recording fails as well, which might help resolve the issue. rebooting takes care of it momentarily though.

Hi,
3 days ago, i buy my m2. Really love it.
I updated to 4.4.2, but i don't like it, so i downgraded with flashtool to 4.3
Then i root it with TowelRoot, and i installed Busybox.
Today i noticed this with my screen:

gap LCD <> digitizer
So i reinstall phone with Sony's program, Pc Companion to lose root, 4.3 and busybox.
Now i can return the device to T-Mobile with warrantee?
I Worry about build number. Original kitkat was 18.3.c.0.37, now with reinstalled with PC Companion is 18.3.c.0.40. Is this matter?
Sorry for bad English
Pls answer
If you didn't unlock the bootloader, you didn't lose the warranty.
The build number does not matter, because you updated it with PC companion - you are running the software Sony gave the device.
Just in case make sure you don't have any towelroot etc on it before giving back. Just do a factory reset.

Calm down man , i have this on my device it's not a problem . I think everybody have this . It's useless to return it to sony .
I think no, because in the morning, i went to Media Markt shop (because i bought a case for m2) and there was an m2 on the view phones, i checked and it hasen't got problem like this.
But anyone else have this problem too? maybe this is an seria error.

Reinstalling with pc companion wipes all data from the phone, that's why there is nothing on it anymore.

Nope, after seeing the pictures I took a look at mine and I don't have that light there. Mine's a white version though.
I bring back, and they say, they can't do anything with this, because it's not affect the operation of the device.
Not bad...
Well, that's why I'm never buying from a physical shop/provider. Online orders can be returned without question asked.
Hi!
I bought this device few time after the release. At the time there was an official update from ASUS and I updated it. I remember that it said that there was no way to go back to the original firmware. The thing is. I unlocked my device at that time and now, after trying many different custom ROMS, there is not one that works ok. My device is slow, always hanging, it's not usable at all. My question for the experts are:
- Do I have the correct firmware, kernel, whatever installed?
- What ROM can I install that does not have these problems?

Many of the KitKat ROMs are a lot faster. I used CROMBi for a while, at it was mostly stable. You will have to unlock your bootloader and flash a TWRP 2.8
Thanks cmendonc2. The problem is that I updated the tablet itself (not the ROM) as soon as I bought it and it has been slow since that time. I don't know if I can revert to the state that was from factory. I already tried many ROM's and the slowness is always there.
Katkiss 4.4.4 plus added in Seeder.apk..
The thing screams...
I am running it next to the Nexus 10 and both are running about the same..
Only thing is the TF300T is a bit slower on the Multitasking when downloading from Play Store and or TB backup installs..
otherwise if I was to be buying one for someone, at the price they are now, plus the expandable storage options...
I would still think this was not a bad buy..
As the Nexus 10 has great specs and zooms but its developed a yellow tinge on the screen that seems to happen to a few of them after 1-2 years..
and its not like the screen is on for extended periods.. or left on.. just a production fault.. we are having a go at Google now about it.. as cant even get replacement LCD's for it..

I installed CROMBi but the problem remains. My TF300T has some other problem that began with the first official asus upgrade I made. No one knows what I'm talking about? The tablet is slow to do everything, except when inside apps.
Try to wipe internal memory from recovery and flash katkiss 5.0.1 rom. It works better than kitkat roms

Thanks xfim. I installed and it seems much more stable. I'm having problems with gapps, they don't install, don't know why but I'm going to ask in the katkiss topic.

How is this possible? And is my phone still using too much memory? Chrome is still really laggy and some games still closes themself without warning, and it's pretty annoying..

This memory problem had been solved by Google in the previous update, but after that last update LMY48M the problem happen again, I'm waiting for a new fix Google.
Me too. After updated to LMY48M, it seems that memory leak problem is back. I have a nexus 6 updated too but it doesn't seen to have this problem.

Was waiting for a few days of use before replying. This made quite a difference, but there were a couple times where a restart was needed - I don't know if it was from the same issue though. It's better now, anyway... no longer restarting 2-3 times a day.

Have you tried flashing supersu zip in recovery?
Had to restart twice today. At least M is around the corner... hopefully this is fixed.
The rear-facing camera on my AT&T LG G3 D850 (now on Cricket) started acting up a few months ago. It would work for a few seconds, then purple lines would appear and would crash. I could get it to work sometimes for a few pics but then it would crash every time. I tried another camera app. I tried it in safe mode. I uninstalled the camera app and let it reinstall. I did a factory reset. I even ordered a new camera and installed it. None of these have fixed the issue. Now almost every time I open the camera app it just crashes and gives the message "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped." It works for a little bit maybe one out of 50 times I open it. The front-facing camera works fine. I posted on another site and a few people have said they have the same issue but no idea how to fix it. Please help.

If it was rooted doing a factory reset won't reset anything that may have changed during root. If flashing it back to stock doesn't fix it it would be a hardware issue.

No, only kitkat and you'd have to have to use an AT&T sim to be able to ota update to it. As well as now flashing back to stock is risky it downgrading from MM.

As it says. Some have bricked when downgrading from MM. Most have not but some have bricked. So it can brick when downgrading from MM.
But unless you changed something system wise when your rooted it seems you may have a hardware problem somewhere. But if you ever tampered with anything then it could be from that.

I got the November 1st security patch, does this fix all the reboots?
I don't know what reboots you guys are talking about. Haven't experienced this on my note edge. Whenever it does happen it's because of a custom kernel

I don't have a custom kernel and it still happens. The ony thing that gets rod of it is having no screen security. It probably still reboots on its own without you just don't get prompted because the phone doesn't ask to put your password in. Some have said that if you give it to Samsung they will fix it? Can anyone confirm?

I get these soft reboots constantly... almost every time I lock the screen?
Genuinely flummoxed that no one has come up with a fix yet. ..
EDIT: I can confirm, there are no reboots, no password requests, and after some weeks now not even more battery drain , seems that this new firmware solved the problems.
So, finally I got rid of the random reboots and the lockscreen-problems.
I updated to the most recent version of MM 6.0.1 (see attached screenshot), and did it as follows:
first I made a backup of all my user files. I deleted all stored fingerprints, and disabled all lockscreens.
Then I updated via Samsung Kies (first time ever, did NOT use the OTA)
after finishing the update I booted into recovery and made a factory reset twice!
After reboot and initial setup I enabled fingerprint lockscreen and registered my fingerprints, then reinstalled all apps from app store, done.
After two weeks not a single reboot, no crash, fingerprint works flawless!
Finally !
