Hi,
I'm just dropped my tf700 and the display poped out with major physical damage but it works fine. Has anyone experienced the display poping out when the tab is dropped ?

I am having a very weird, and oddly repeating hardware problem with my HTC TP.
My original one started having this problem about 3 months after I bought it. The problem had two aspects - the screen appears as if the LCD material in it has moved or changed format (see image below) - and the touch function of it became problematic, often identifying the press in the wrong location.
I gave it to the vendor during warranty, and after some issues with the lab was offered a new device (it was indeed brand new, battery date indicated that). The new device - after less than a month - started having the exact same problem! (I'm giving it for repair tomorrow)
Is anyone familiar with this problem? Is this just a streak of bad luck? or am I doing anything bad to my devices? As far as I know - I'm not doing anything bad to them - the 2nd one was so short with me it haven't even dropped once. And before that I had a imate KJAM for 2.5 years without such problems.
Ideas?
It looks like too much pressure was applied to the LCD screen.
it is odd though - especially as it occured in such a short time on my new device, and I have not done anything especially bad to it
it definitely has the "feel" of a pressed LCD, but this is during rest. btw - in both times it was just the center area, and both cases a very similar size problem.
the only type of pressure I can think of is when it is in my pocket, but comeon, I am quite positive HTC did not design a device that can not withstand being in a pocket.....
it's a random defect that some screens get
and also a sign of worse things to come I believe
had a friend who bought a new one and it already had
it when it got it he of cause sendt it back
so I just coincidently got two of them ?!
That's quite jinxy
anyway - got today back my first phone, repaired (screen replaced).
Let's hope this doesn't re-appear.
Ofer.
sorry a little off the mark

hey guys
i'm running stock fw 5.1.1 gen, 16/2gb.Does anyone else notice that their touchscreen is just buggy? I am talking about things like scrolling and tapping a link from a list, for example. Sometimes the scroll or the tap will register incorrectly and usage can be erratic. i've noticed this especially while using whatsapp when i try to open one chat from main chat screen instead of opening the chat it just scrolls down
is this a common issue ? seems like a HW problem to me
Sounds similar to what I've experienced:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/help/touch-screen-fault-t3183555
.. I suspect it's a hardware problem like you, but I was able to reproduce the problem on two other handsets.
I have tried a couple screen protectors now... The screen on the Moto G seems very sensitive to them. If you have one installed, try removing it. The best response in a screen protector I have found is with tempered glass, and even then there is still a little bit of "error" in touches.
Not sure if this helps at all, just thought I would throw it out there.
I don't have screen protectors and I've noticed some degree of unresponsiveness, but only after the stagefright update. I've flashed the newer stock firmware (not OTA) and noticed the issue after using the phone for a few minutes.
I too have a tempered glass screen protector and from time to time I notice there are a few glitches.
Granted I applied it the same time when stage fright ota was released so who knows now.
I have this issue too and I am in the US. I don't remember if it happened before the stagefright patch. For me it is much worse when using swiftkey. The google keyboard does it very rarely on occasion. I do have issues that worry me somewhat with my touch screen though where sometimes when I swipe down it also swipes slightly to the right or left which doesn't happen on my old phone. Several times when my morning alarm is going off on my phone I will swipe in the direction of snooze which I had no issue doing on my old moto E but now on my new moto G the swipe to the left for snooze gets interpreted as a slight swipe to the right causing it to say alarm off instead of snooze. Luckily I noticed that so I didn't end up sleeping in. The moto g 2015 seems to have a much more sensitive touch screen than my old moto e 1st generation. I just hope this is a software issue that can be fixed and not some sort of hardware defect that would result in me having send the phone back and wait for replacement.
Hi all,
Just replaced the screen on an Lg G4 and I'm having some odd and somewhat inconsistent behaviour.
The phone is only picking up some some screen inputs, but once the touch screen is active it will detect all input until the touch "session?" is expired. This is best demonstrated in a video I recorded. https://youtu.be/wVREoSQUPtU
So it seems the digitiser is intact but refuses to recognise certain parts of the screen until the touch "session" is active.
Wondering if anyone can explain this behaviour and pinpoint if it's hardware or software related.

Update:
It seems the touch screen issues go away when the usb charger is attached. The device has been fully discharged as per the sellers instructions but despite these two fixes when the phone is running on battery the strange touch issues persist.
Still unsure what can explain this behaviour, but it seems more hardware related now that we can get it working with the charger attached.
Any advice?

Hi all, I have been using a OnePlus 7 Pro since June and it's been going great for me.
However, recently I've noticed that if I press a bit harder (almost like a force touch) on the top middle-ish part of the display, I can hear a distinctive creaking, almost popping noise from the phone? This sound doesn't come from pressing harder on any other part of the display, just that middle area. It doesn't appear to be causing any problems so far, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this with their device? Haven't found anything on the internet just yet...I'm worried that it'll become an actual problem later on.
I'm on stock OOS Android 10 Beta 4, but I don't believe this is a software issue (hopefully it's not). Side note though, I do notice that my device still suffers from ghost touches and is parts of the display are nonresponsive occasionally.
Thanks for the help!
I have the same popping on the upper middle of the phone ever since I got the phone in May. But, as you say, not causing any issues....yet. don't have ghost touches and non-responsiveness. I'm on Pie still.

Very weird...I wonder if this is a common issue or not; doesn't seem like it. I thought upgrading to Android 10 would fix the ghost touches (pretty sure I read something related to that somewhere before) but I guess not; almost seems like it added more ghost touches than before lol
mine is fine
I've been using this phone since it came out and I have nothing close to what you describe my screen is completely fine.
Hi everyone!
I've been using an Xtrons TE103ap which is basically a MTCD/E PX5 unit. It operates off of a swivel 10.1 inch screen.
I've been having intermittent issues over the last 1 year where the screen would be unresponsive when the swivel is set to certain angles, so I assumed it was an issue with the connection. It runs off a generic 40 pin ribbon (the kind you find off floppy drives). I replaced it with a new cable and the problem went away for a while.
Every now and then, it would be unresponsive to touch requiring a complete reboot to get working again.
As of 3 days ago, the touch response started becoming laggy, ie. after touching a certain point, it would take about 1 second to respond. No amount of jiggling or wire switching fixed the issue.
I have done a complete teardown of the screen module and i've noticed that the digitizer ribbon is separate from the touch panel's ribbon. All contact points seem to be working and it doesn't seem to be a cable issue.
Assuming it were a digitizer issue, the touch panel's controls would still work right?
The last 3 days, i've been trying everything from going from Android 8 to Android 10, no fortune. I did try several MCU's and one particular MCU got the screen working for a while, long enough for me to get into factory settings and do a configuration. On reboot, i lost all touch functions again...
As of now, i'm perplexed as to whether it is a hardware issue or possibly software issue. Hoping anyone could shed some light.
Thanks !
