UPDATE:
- Motorola is the manufacturer of the phone according to its system specs
- The phone carries Motorola Mobile Computing System as per the official specs (motorola.com)
- Its internals (like the battery) come with the Motorola original logo.
- The box of the phone says "Manufactured by Motorola Mobility"
- Under settings you will also see "Motorola Privacy" and "Motorola ID"
- The box has a little Lenovo logo, yes, but it also has the Motorola logo (not the M only, the full name) and in its product information says it is "Motorola Moto G4 XTxxxx"
- The moto Gs sold in the US and Latin America will only have a small Lenovo logo in the back of the box. The ones sold in Europe and Asia will have a small Lenovo logo in the front
- Under the back cover it says "Designed by Motorola"

Well in a way, you are correct. It is Motorola's and not Lenovo's. Look at Lenovo and Motorola as 2 different companies and Lenovo being the bigger one and having 51% share in Motorola's shares while the rest 49% is with Google and others. So partially Motorola's owners are Lenovo but that doesn't mean every device Motorola launches has to be a Lenovo branding device. It is more of Motorola with Lenovo backing it financially as well as marketing it. And to be clear, it is Motorola G4 Plus not Lenovo.

two moto G , the same but different

Can anyone shed some light on some of the weirdness I find on my moto G
I bought two moto G.
One moto G , the white color on the screen is more pure white
the second moto G, the white color on the screen is more off white... it is very slight .I don't think I can capture the difference on camera. but when you see it. you can tell one is more white than the other.
second weird difference
on one of the moto G, google now hot word is "ok google"
on the second moto G, google now hot word is just "google"
I am puzzled about this..
any one know??
I compare the version of OS, kernel, and detail of the phone. both are the same.
This is the International Moto G , 8 GB
oh what do you know. I can capture the different with my playbook camera.. here it is

weird ... anyone know?
sorry double p ost
That is weird and seems like it's outside the range of normal production deviations. I don't think most people have their Moto Gs yet to compare, maybe it was one batch, or maybe it was an entire assembly line.
One has an outdated google now for sure. The one without the "ok google" has an outdated version. And contact google ASAP. They should replace the off-white version. Its a digitiser issue.
Sent from my GT-I9152 using Tapatalk 4
"OK Google" vanishes after a few uses.
Google do not sell the Moto G.
The digitizer has nothing to do with the colour of the screen.
Both screens can have differente manufacturers... we dont know.
But it can also be a defective one.

Awesome news!

http://googleblog.blogspot.nl/2015/04/android-wear-wear-what-you-want-get.html
Awesome news! Wifi support, drawing emoji's, et cetera! I'm excited!
I'm curious. Does the moto 360 have a wifi antannae? Also every article I've read gave a different date of release. Some said Friday, others said in next few weeks, while a few said today
I suppose the link you provided is likely the more reliable one. But still I want it now
The Moto 360 will support wifi! Motorola blogged about it somewhere. Just as all the others except for the G watch
Why not the G Watch with the same Snapdragon 400 as the other watches? (except the moto)
I found it in a thread somewhere, that was the only difference. The chip supports it, but the hardware antenna isn't there. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the thread again
They can tell us the phone and watch do not necessarily need to be tethered by bluetooth, they will enable WiFi.
They will allow stand alone apps.
Two questions when ?
Next month or in 6 months ?
And
How will it effect battery life.
No Android Wear Smart Watch I seen, it that great with battery life.

Can you post pictures of the WiFi settings?? Also, you have the G watch R? I though the LG Urbane was suppose to get it first.
Sent from my SM-N910V using XDA Free mobile app
Here you go:
In English:
''Enable synchronization with cloud to synchronize data from phone and watch through Wifi"
It's only app on phone update. Like google said LG Urbane will get firmware update first.
But keep in mind that Urbane have the same harware as G Watch R so maybe delay will be very short
Now If only we could get support for google voice call notifications and sending sms through a google voice #
I've got great information for polish users of Android Wear - new update will give us a polish language firmware for our watches, at last! Look at the very begining of this video: https://youtu.be/uKlvl6Wrch4

Moto Assist for 2015 Moto G?...

Hey guys, two things. Is the re a way to make it work?
Why is it now available for us in the playstore?....
And maybe you know other apps with same functionality...
Can you reformulate the question?
What are you asking to make it work?

The OP stated his problem clearly or at least it was to me.
The app shows as unavailable for the Moto 3rd Gen so he probalby want's to know how he can make the app work or how to install the app. He is also asking if three is another app that will perform the same duties as Moto Assist.
I would imagine that the only way it would work is by having someone provide a link to the app and sideload it if that would even work.

That was the unclear part. But of course im an idiot and didn't read the title correctly.
Sorry op
I don't know which version of moto g3 are you guys taking about, but in my xt1550(Indian version) moto assist came pre-installed!
Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
Moto Assist for the US version XT1540 is unavailable in Play. Motorola included a replacement app called Moto but it lacks driving mode among other things.
Sent from my GT-P5210 using Tapatalk
The moto app installed on my XT1541 doesn't have driving mode. Got sleeping, meetings and places.
Confused !!

Moto Assist was a little different, it offered driving mode so your texts could be read to you. It looked different also,. It was the default in the Moto 2nd gen.

Any chance of getting Moto Assist with VOICE functionality like MOTO - X on Moto g3?
i liked the Moto assist performing voice assistance in the Moto x 2015, i had checked is that App similar to Moto G 3 assist (alias Moto app)
they both do look alike , but Moto x has 4 features in it unlike moto g ,which is having only 3 as shown below ..
so my question is .. is there any way to get that Voice functionality in our moto G2015 ??
Note: i got the file moto voice : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.audiomonitor&hl=en
can this be ported , made available for moto g3 ?
Moto Voice.. is it the real one??
out of curiosity , today i tried to install Moto voice from google play.. but it said incomaptiable device
as it says "moto display" is also incompatiable to MOTO G 2015, i ignored it .. i downloded the file from an external source.. [http://www.558app.com/android/moto-voice-v2015-apk.html]
it turned out to be a bigfile, the name was : TOUCHLESS CONTROL when i was installing, finally i opened my Moto app and saw this new thing Voice - which was missing earlier..
but when i am opening it .. its giving me an error any help ??

Motorola V3xx Firmwares/Monsterpacks

I had purchased a refurbished Motorola V3xx a few years ago just for carrying with me for work for calls and because of crime where I used to work. Anyways, its a branded AT&T firmware.
I have been having issues with the phone of late, mainly it constantly says no signal and goes on an infinite power off and on loop unless I plug it into the charger where it then stays on. Sometimes, even while it has signal, it will just randomly reboot.
After some hunting online, its near impossible to find any firmwares anywhere for this phone and the ones I have been able to find, either don't work (it just throws out an error in the flash&backup software) or the sites will list firmwares but no download links...or in the case of two sites, you had to pay to download the firmwares.
I was hoping maybe someone here maybe from back in the day might still have any firmwares or monsterpacks for the V3xx hidden away somewhere...
Bootloader is 03.08
Software version is R26111MLD-AS_U_96.B0.0FR

Question Model number question

I'm researching Lenovo P11 for a new tablet.
All of the model numbers I'm finding start with ZA (ie ZA940077US), but all of the models in the forum start with TB and none match up with anything being sold (even on Lenovo's site).
Is there some cross reference for model numbers somewhere?
Also, all of the Lenovo pads I've come across say they are rubbing A11 or A10, but everything in this forum refers to ZUI for the OS.

All I can see is that the ZA numbers are part numbers on Lenovo's website. the TB numbers are the model numbers you'll find in the Android Settings. e.g. TB132FU is the P11 Pro Gen 2.
I'd disregard the ZA numbers and use the Android Update Matrix as a guide for how the common name corresponds to the TB model numbers. It also gives you an idea of what to expect in terms of update support:
Android Upgrade Matrix - Lenovo Support CA
support.lenovo.com
Here's a screenshot of the P series of tablets from that page. If you care about updates, I'd stick with one of the second gen tablets as they will be getting Android 13 and 14.

I see your location says you're in NY. If you buy directly from the Lenovo website or a local authorized seller of Lenovo tablets (like Best Buy or whatever) you'll get a tablet that runs Lenovo's official OS with the latest version of Android available for that device. I purchased the Lenovo P11 Pro (Gen 2) directly from the Lenovo website back in November. It's currently on Android 12, receives OTA updates fine, and I haven't had any of the Netflix widevine issues.
There are a lot of people here who purchase these devices from Aliexpress and other resellers which seem to be the Chinese models of the tablet which come with ZUI, or the seller has flashed a customized global version of Android which causes issues with Netflix not working as it should be and OTA updates not working, among other things.
