(Q) Is there a way to root and recovery without a pc?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this. Im new to the SGS4G but not to android. I was wondering is there a way to root and install custom recovery without using a pc? I appologize if this has been asked before. Any info would be appreciated.

The only way I know to root this phone is super one click VIA pc

[Q] Shift Root files

I am good at evo, 3d and design. The shift is making me crazy. My wife has one and she is finaly willing to let me root it. Problem is that all the files I need are not found when i click on the link. Does any one have them. It is running 2.3 I got the other three evos down pat if you need anything for those.

Which files do you need?

Here's the Shift root zip http://db.tt/0XVvO0Kv and you can use ROM manager to flash clockworkmod or look in the development section for twrp recovery. The link for recovery in the original how to thread is extremely outdated.

Need root for my g259p 5.1.1

I need twrp root for my sprint galaxy s6 edge on 5.1.1. All of the twrp recoveries ive tried don't work. And I've searched this forum and all others for my device and to no avail.
Can someone share a link to a working recovery so I can root my device?

Well if you've searched all threads then you would see that currently there is no twrp nor root available yet. They're still working on it. But if you want to help out, you can try this TWRP and report back. And did you mean G925P?

When using Odin be sure to hold down power, home, and volume up before it reboots

Ive been doing this technique. Sometimes though i was holding the dm combination and had to reboot again

If you are stuck on the boot screen, you will need to reflash the stock recovery again with odin. The one for T-mobile works with our phone. You can get it here:

I need the stock kernal for my device. Can someone help me with that? I'm going to try a unikernal but i need a backup plan. If it works through Odin to that would be fantastic?

I check everywhere in XDA on how to root 7.1 ROMs so can anybody help me out on how to root 7.1 or do anybody got the link to the superuser.

Luckily, you have choice on XDA. Besides SuperSU, you can root with Phh's Superuser which is open source.
