Use s6edge roms on note 5? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Im coming from a s6 and on the s6 you can use s6edge roms by flashing the kernel of the s6. Is this the same case with the note 5 and s6edge plus? I got the N920T model and very curious about it

as I recall that Is the case... But if your looking for edge features just download one of the edge rooms like Darkstalker rom

Thanks man. Not really looking for edge features, just like the snappyness of certain roms like twisted sixx or sick as hell as example. I barely use the note features lol.

ROMs for the S6/S6 Edge

Can we use them in unison, or will there be 2 separate forums, one for S6 and another for the S6 Edge? I'm betting more people get the regular S6, but the S6 Edge looks wayyyy to sexy for me to pass up so I think I will be getting that. I'm worried though that there will be little community support for it... but if we could use regular S6 ROMs then it's not a factor at all, buut if we CAN'T use regular S6 ROMs, then it's kind of a big deal lol.
There is already a separate S6 and S6 Edge forum. You are in the regular S6 forum now.

OP wants to know if there will be unified development for them (Flashing S6 roms on S6 Edge or vice versa).
Yes, there are two sections, this is for regular s6, but there's people who takes about s6 Edge, I don't know why.
If samsung were to do themselves a favor, they would use the same rom for both the S6, and the S6 edge. I think there are only a couple of additional features the edge will have that the S6 won't. I hope sammy does a
If samsung edge then
samsung edge feature
end if
(I'm a VB guy, not a Java or C guy)
It would mean updates could roll out to both devices in tandem, and S6 roms would work on the edge, and vice versa. But I'm sure that won't happen. I'd like to be wrong, though.
Roms will be easy to port between the two, but it's unlikely you'll be able to directly flash a regular rom to an edge.

No, you're wrong, I clearly stated in the OP if ROMs are interchangeable between the 2 phones @akitten007 was correct.
I just wanted to know if S6 ROMs could be used with the S6 Edge.

Edge plus compatible?

Perhaps this is a REALLY stupid question, but are S6 edge roms compatible with the S6 Edge plus? I just got the edge plus and was bummed to see no development really for it. I'm thinking about taking it back now.
Thanks
It isn't compatible.S6E+ have different hardware(display, something more maybe) and S6E roms exclude drivers for it.
Well it's really too soon for developement, the phone is very new. Give it some time

I have the note 7 and it's way better then the edge one.
Does knox work on these ported roms? Or does rooting an s7 mean tripping knox?
edit: Might be interested in using samsung pay in a couple of months
Thanks TheSproker. (click!) So you have an Edge running a Note ROM? Or you have both phones and prefer the Note ROM?
and yes it trips Knox.

I have the regular s7 running the note 7 rom by jesec. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-jesse-s-note-7-port-s7-edge-flat-t3449017
What I like about the rom is that it has all of the features of the s7 edge rom and also note 7 one's like a more mature ui and a very useful blue light filter which comes in handy when your using your phone at the night. Plus that rom has the best performance and battery life compared to the other note 7 ports, so I would definitely recommend this one.
battery and peformance up to spec?

No!
There probably won't be any development anytime soon if any at all with new Samsung phones.
If custom Rom and Root is your thing, then your best bet is Oneplus 3 or 3T, IMHO.

There will be for him because where he is they get the exynos version.
And obviously the s8plus is a better match for the nexus 6 screen size.

Is there a Nougat " bloatware free" flash for the Note5?

Is there a flash that's clean of bloatware for the note?
I know there's no root for the N5 and I learned about the flashing idea from the S8 forum here at xda. The person wrote to flash unlocked. Verizon says that all their 4g phones are unlocked. How do flash unlocked?
Thanks
Can anyone comment on this positivity or negatively.?
Thanks

There is no bloatware free firmware that you can flash. When Verizon says unlocked by that they mean the sim card slots unlocked so you can use it with any carrier you choose.. You cannot flash nothing to the N5 with the locked bootloader.
I really appreciate you chiming in. I guess a bloatware free flash is wishful thinking. At this point and since my upgrade is in November I've given up hope on any chance of a root for the note5. And almost don't care anymore. My next phone may be the s8 or s8+. So far I don't see any review on the Note 8 that's swaying me towards another note. I'm almost thinking 7s iPhone series but probably won't.
Do you know if the Verizon s8 series has root?
Thanks!

I have the Verizon S8+ and yes it has root access!! I also just received my new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and I'm messing with it testing the battery VS the S8+ because the Note 8 is 3,300 and the S8+ is 3,500 but the funny thing is the Note 8 lasted longer and I had them both doing the same exact thing brightness was 100% on both and both were playing a YouTube video and the first one to shut off was the S8+ so I was a bit shocked but then again the Note 8 has more ram and the firmware was perfected just for the Note 8 and battery longevity, so I'm going to keep the Note 8 for now.

Nice!! Well, I'm still leaning to a the S8 but I'll still see what the Pixel 2 is like. I like the thought of being bloat free. But with a rooted s8 or plus that could be a wash in favor for Samsung.
Thanks!
so this means you cannot flash an unlocked firmware on the N5, like you can on the S8+, to remove Verizon's bloatware and stuff?
