My cellular radio seems to be permanently disabled on COS13. The problem happened completely at random (I picked up my phone and the cellular connection was gone). The phone is a brand-new replacement I got a few weeks ago.
Facts:
The quick settings in the drawer say airplane mode is off
The settings in the power menu say airplane mode is on
I cannot force connect to a cellular network (or view available networks)
The SIM works in another phone
I am running ZNH0EAS2JK
Things I have tried:
Formatting cache
Resetting phone
Removing and re-inserting SIM
Re-flashing through recovery
Has anyone else seen this problem? Any potential solutions would be greatly appreciated!
you could try formatting systen in TWRP and flashing a cm13 nightly. in this way the modem should be reflashed.

So, everything works great, except when I activate airplane mode via settings or notification menu, a problem occurs AFTER airplane mode is de-activated. Only the cell network is active, neither edge nor 4g connection is available UNTIL after a reboot. WiFi CAN activate but no cell network DATA available.
I attempted to:
1. search forums and google (similar issues noticed, no solution available)
2. flash stock Rogers radio then re flash CM7, didn't solve
3. Redo APN seetings with different inputs, didn't solve
4. shutdown remove sim, startup no sim, shutdown reinsert sim, startup, didn't solve
5. now on stable (seemingly faster) UCLA3 modem didn't solve
wipe emmc etc., flash SkyIceCream ROM, and then the problem solved!, wipe to factory and wipe cache, flash back to CM7, and the problem returns!
So I'm thinking it's the kernel and/or ROM. My device doesn't FC or SOD atm it seems very stable.
I use airplane mode a lot since I do travel on airplanes quite a bit. I can reboot after airplane mode every time but it's a pain plus sometimes I don't have the time to wait for a reboot literally. Please help, I love the ROM.
Hey brotha - I had a similar problem with mine. When we went on a trip to Phoenix, it took a good 10 minutes or so for the bloody network to come up. I had a bunch of data charges too when it did finally come up... but no description except medianet data charges (sent data not received). My wife's iphone also had some large charged data for sent. I don't know what it was, but the Phoenix market has LTE (obviously nothing to do with the iPhone) - but I figured that because our home network was not the same (4g here) that was a lot of ATT internal configuration fighting going on and it took a while for their systems to parse it out. All speculation and what not, but reboots on my phone wouldn't help until if finally popped open, but I'm betting it's not a device problem, it was a network issue (based on the 60ish meg upload charges we both had our our different phones... and no, we weren't posting airplane bathroom porn to youtube...
I couldn't take it anymore so i flashed nexusmod4 and now i don't have airplane mode problems anymore. So for anyone having this problem on CM7 don't worry you can fix it by flashing another ROM.
Hello, I'm hoping someone here can help me. After several hours on Google I can't seem to find a solution to my problem.
My Nexus 5 will connect to LTE with no problem most of the time, but every couple days it will connect to 3G for a while, and never switch back. I have preferred LTE setting enabled, and have tried to force LTE only in the *#*#INFO#*#* menu, but when I do, I lose all data, and it won't connect back again ever. The only way to fix is to factory reset my phone. I have tried changing the preferred to 3G and back, changing INFO to LTE/CDMA auto PRL again, and rebooting my phone several times. I reflashed to Radio, and restored system data using titanium Backup to a time where it was working. I am totally out of ideas. I would really appreciate any help. Running Mahdi Rom 2.9 Rooted.
Please be patient with me, I'm not massively tech-savvy.
I have a OnePlus One with CM 12.1-YOG4PAS3JL.
I have the same issue as described on the Cyanogen forum - but with CM 12.1. I've posted there but nobody has responded! Issue is as follows:
After being connected to WiFi for hours, my phone will not reconnect to data after losing WiFi signal. Phone signal is fine. The fix is to turn aeroplane mode ON/OFF or to restart my phone. If I connect to WiFi for 2 minutes and dis-connect, this problem does not occur. After restarting the phone or turning aeroplane mode ON/OFF, this problem will re-occur after being connected to WiFi for an extended period of time.
My phone is apparently on the latest OnePlus One version of CM, yet my problem seems eerily similar to the above thread I described - so this seems like a known problem. I've contacted OPO Support but let's just say their responses are slow.
Thanks for any advice. APN settings are fine & already done a full factory reset - did not help. SIM not changed, data plan not changed.
The phone has just gone over 6 months old (6 months and a few days), so I'm not sure whether OnePlus One are going to try and get out of any warranty clause. I have never installed any OS apart from what the phone told me to download in 'check for system updates'.
Thiis issue is fixed on CM13 Nightlly.

Use profiles. I use this in RR 12.1.
Default profile -->when connect your WiFi -->preferred network --> 2g
Create a new profile, example:
Street profile --> when disconnect your WiFi --> preferred network --> 2g/3g/4g
It did trick for me.
As stated I'm using the LG G5 H830 T-Mobile variant. I am getting 4G LTE data connection and everything runs well (Not in any WiFi range) Yet for SMS and calling as well as mobile hotspot I get "No USIM card' error. This happened after wiping the system and formatting data. Rebooted recovery (as per instructions on forum) then installed the stock firmware & Patch with systemless root and xposed. After this I did factor reset when just pulling the sim didn't help. Still nothing. I reflashed just the stock firmware with TWRP and SuperSU and issue is still happening. I've disabled rebooted and enabled the phone radio. SIM is in good condition and tray as well everything is SECURE and should be good to go.
I'm assuming a new SIM might be a solution. But I'm not counting on it and with Labor Day tomorrow for me I wouldn't be able to pick one up for 2 days. So here I am...hoping someone might have a fix. I know I don't have many posts on here. But I am an experienced user....just not with the more basic of problems I guess
Thanks!!
Has anyone else experienced this yet? I'm just curious...I had it fixed for a couple days. I've formatted data and done complete system wipe. Tried it resetting phone with the COMPLETE zip and TOT using LGUP. I'm receiving texts. Not calls. Not able to send either. I've activated new sim, didn't help. LG support just told me to look into warranty. T-Mobile needless to say just wanted. Sim card does show stock tmobile short code contacts but phone number shows as unknown. Hotspot won't work. I've tried setting the phone number to the sim. Nothing.
Anyways. I don't think I messed with anything, even so I've done everything to start the phone from scratch. Going to replace it, just more or less curious at this point and maybe others have had the same issue.
I believe I had the same issue as you and it was driving me crazy. I was constantly wiping data, system, etc but my phone kept giving the message "roaming indicator off" where it should show the name of the carrier. This resulted in me having LTE data and that's it- no 3g, no phone calls, etc. I couldn't even access the mobile network menu.
What ended up causing the issue was the network mode setting under wireless networks. Keep in mind at this point I'm running a patched rom which now gives more options in the network mode menu than the phone came factory with. I have an area at work where I have to switch to 3g, GSM/wcdma preferred network setting, because although I have full LTE signal, my connection goes dead. When switching back from 3g I chose the setting lte/CDMA thinking this would force my phone to stay in lte mode due to another area on an upper floor where the phone will constantly drop lte.
Anyways this resulted in my phone saying roaming indicator unavailable, the inability to make or receive phone calls, and either the mobile networks or network mode menus being grayed out. When stuck in this mode there is no way to put the phone back into the standard "GSM/wcdma/lte" mode. Even a complete reflash won't fix it. I even used lgup, which worked for maybe a day until it force closed the phone app and went back to roaming indicator unavail. I wiped every partition and even reflashed radio firmware. Nothing worked.
What ended up fixing it was using an app called v10 hidden settings which allowed me to access the network mode menu directly and re-choose the lte/wcdma/GSM setting. Incidentally on first access to this menu through the app there are only two network settings available. Once you choose a GSM setting, the rest appear.
I'm not sure if this was your issue but I hoped this helped because this took me about a week to workout.
Hello,
I am running the VZW S8+ and my cellular service is not connecting to anything.
The status icon has 0 bars without the "x".
Airplane mode takes an abnormal time to toggle off.
Yes, I've rebooted my device and powered down and waiting for a while.
Yes, I've tried the ejecting SIM card and rebooting method.
I believe that my cell radio has been turned off somehow and I can't access the Android "Testing" menu to toggle it back on via dialer codes.
Please advise. I will try my best to furnish any supplemental information.
E:I went nuclear and factory reset my device.
Did you do a hard reset to restore your phone to its original (default) settings?
