Hello, I'm hoping someone here can help me. After several hours on Google I can't seem to find a solution to my problem.
My Nexus 5 will connect to LTE with no problem most of the time, but every couple days it will connect to 3G for a while, and never switch back. I have preferred LTE setting enabled, and have tried to force LTE only in the *#*#INFO#*#* menu, but when I do, I lose all data, and it won't connect back again ever. The only way to fix is to factory reset my phone. I have tried changing the preferred to 3G and back, changing INFO to LTE/CDMA auto PRL again, and rebooting my phone several times. I reflashed to Radio, and restored system data using titanium Backup to a time where it was working. I am totally out of ideas. I would really appreciate any help. Running Mahdi Rom 2.9 Rooted.

should work once you re input apn settings.....what network are you on ?...also are you leaving the phone after inputting settings,,,,as it may sometimes take a while to register

Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I've had this problem more than once since I bought the NS. Didn't bother changing the APNs as it was working before.
All I did was restart my phone and it fixed the problem.
I tried entering My apn but nothing works

I've got the same problem: no data connection whatsoever, reboot didn't fix it.
Happened to me once, Reflashing radio or backup didnt help... I ended up doing this.
It may help you
From the dialer, type:
*#*#4636#*#*
Select phone information
scroll to the bottom.
change the GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) to WCDMA only.
Reboot (Had to reboot 2x)
Once data was restored I changed the setting back to GSM/CDMA
I have the Rogers Samsung Galaxy SII running CyanogenMod 9. A couple of days ago I rebooted my phone and for some reason it got stuck on the CM boot screen. I tried unplugging the battery overnight but it still was just stuck on boot. So I wound up re-flashing the phone and installing CM9 again. Now I cannot get a data connection at all. Wi-fi works fine and I'm able to make and receive calls but for whatever reason it will just not connect to LTE/GSM.
I re-flashed the phone again, using a slightly older release of CM9. Still not connecting.
I have tried about 3 or 4 different modems. When I flash a new modem and reboot the phone, it will connect to data for about 5 mins. I will see the data connection flip between 3G and H+ numerous times and then the data connection will drop and I cannot get it back.
I've set my APN settings (ltemobile.apn) and I've gone into the phone settings via *#*#4636#*#* and tried various settings in there (LTE only, LTE/GSM pref, etc.) Still not connecting.
Any ideas? I feel like I've tried everything at this point.
Hey guys, quick background. I bricked my SGS3 and had to have it replaced. I think I got a refurb phone because from day one I keep having the same issue. First day I got the replacement phone I rooted it and flashed CleanROM 5.0. Everything was peachy until I noticed that I have no 4G or 3G service. In fact, I had no data connectivity at all. My phone can make calls, receive texts no problem, won't connect to internet. If I restart the phone, I have 4G right away. After a few minutes, the 4G icon is on, but the phone won't has no data connection (when I say data connection I mean it will not go online, no internet, no android market, still have voice and txts). If I attempt to go on internet, I get a message saying "No Signal Found For Mobile Networks". I have installed Network Signal Info and right after a restart it says 4G LTE, data connected, upload+download activity. After a few minutes, it says 4G LTE, data connected, after a little while, it will switch to EHRPD, with data "connecting". Also, in the System tab, it will tell me my IEMI and version of JB running, next to "Radio", it says "unknow". WiFi works perfectly btw. My IEMI is perfectly fine,
I had it backed up. My phone number is still there.
Here is what I had tried so far: Switching into and out of Airplane mode, different programs that reset mobile connection, flashed different custom ROMs, flashed the stock kernel, flashed 3 or 4 verizon Modems, Data wipe, cache, Dalvik wipe, Odin'ed back to stock 4.0.1 ICS and had upgraded it to 4.1.1 via verizon software update, changed the SIM card, and reprovisioned the phone with that *3767*whatever the hell code. I'm out ideas.
If anyone has any other idea that I can try before I take it back to Verizon, please, let me know.

Did you go into your mobile data settings to make sure you're on CDMA/LTE? If not I would select and reboot the phone and see if the problem persists. I don't know if you have tried this but it's worth a shot.
I'm having literally the same exact problem with my mom's S3 except for it's not rooted, complete with 'download + upload activity' and 'unknown' radio. I've yet to find anything in my search, but if I do I'll post it here.

I did try that. Nothing seems to be working.
Hi All,
I've been having an issue after upgrading from a Nexus 4 to Nexus 5 where the phone will not re-connect to the home network (or will only reconnect to GSM with no data) after losing connection. This happens for example when going into an elevator or parking garage; I'll lose signal and when I get back into a signal area it won't reconnect unless I go to the "Mobile networks" -> "Network operators" menu and select "HOME" or "Automatic Registration". I'm using Straight Talk wireless with an older T-Mobile SIM (before they switched to only AT&T). I've called Straight Talk a few times to try and debug this, but the only instruction they've given me is to reset the APN and set it up again, which I've done a couple times to no avail. They claim that the SIM card is good on their end. Any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks!

It sounds like the Baseband/RIL problems I had with my old LG OP2X with non-stock roms. For me, it was fixed switching to aeroplane mode and back, it could also get stuck there, I remember it once took me half a day to get it out for I didn't want it to wipe it.
Any way, may be it's not the same but it could be fixed flashing a baseband, I think I saw a thread about it somewhere around... Also, flashing the full firmware should —if it's not a hardware issue— solve the problem without doing much research.
HI

Hi Were you able to get a solution for this, My nexus 5 does not connect automatically to the network, it works only for manual search.
Please help...
Same problem here. Any solution?
I'm stuck with out any connection for the las two days. Tried removing battery, airplane mode. manual search. nothing.
Tried my line in other phone and it worked, other line in my phone and it didn't.
S4 I9500. Paranoid 4 Beta 4.
I don't have a really good solution, i reflashed my phone to stock and it did not fix the issue. I ended up switching carriers to T-mobile and haven't seen the problem since. It seems it was a SIM or network problem like i suspected

I still couldn't make this work I'm this close to buying a new phone... any idea?
I just installed N920PVPU2BPD2 this morning. I am now having LTE issues. my phone will only stay connected to lte for a few minutes, after that I can still see the lte symbol, but data is not working. Nothing no sites loads , apps can't communicate with the internet. If I enter/exit airplane mode that seems to fix it for a few minutes, but then the problem reoccurs. Sprint technical support is useless, they basically told me to take it to a repair center. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
I already updated the profile, PRL, did a hands free activation, changed mobile data settings from automatic to lte/cdma then back again Problem still exists. rebooted the phone several times.

Try a factory reset as last resort?
anyone else have this issue and figure out a fix for it? I tried everything OP did and factory reset with no luck and sprint tech support has been no help either.
How did you install it?
