Hey folks
when i enable wlan or bluetooth throug the notification toggle (swipe down from status bar) it does open a menu for searching new wlans / bt-devices. Is there a setting that lets this toggle only activate / deactivate the option without opening the menu?
Thanks
In my device it happens when you long press the icon, if you press it shortly, you activate or deactivate

Thanks for your reply.
Thats not really what i mean.
When i long press on the WIFI- or the Bluetooth-toggle, it opens the settings page of the setting chosen.
When i short press one of the toggles, it opens a small window. Wifi opens a selector window where i can choose a WLAN nearby. Bluetooth opens a window that tells me that my device is now visible and shows me a list with the paired devices...
When i click on a toggle, i only want to change the current state of the device and dont want to select something else...
Any idea
Hi Guys,
anyone knows if one can take a screenshot from Gear S3, and in case of a positive answer, how to do it?!
Thanks in advance!
There's a hidden features clip on YouTube, it's in there.

Before the screenshots show up on your phone you have to view the screenshot on your watch using the Gallery app.
Once the desired screenshot is full screen, click on the three dots to the right and choose "Send to phone"
Once it copies to your phone you can view the screenshots on your phone where they should be in a folder called "Gear"
On my Galaxy S7 it appeared in internal storage>pictures>gear
Can i get help with this also please? My Gear S3 Frontier (UK) swipe left to right (with home button selected) does not perform a screen shot. A single press brings up my applications menu, double tap brings up the function i selected in options (find my phone in my case) i hold the bottom right (home) button long enough to swipe left to right for a screenshot and it brings up 'Gear Options' every time giving me only 2 options, power off and touch sensitivity (9 times out of 10 meaning the power off is selected). Is it possible another setting has been changed for this function not to work?
how eliminate three white dots
Anyone know how to perform a screenshot that does NOT include the three vertical white dots on the right hand side of the pictures in Gallery?
I'm not really sure what my question is related to, but I'm sure it's a stupid one. This is my first phone with softbuttons. My previous phones were Samsungs, which had capacitive buttons. My last phone was a Note 3, which was still on Lollipop. I had always assumed that softbuttons were simply an on-screen version of what I was used to, but the behavior is different. Not sure if that's related to the newer OS, or what. The left capacitive button brought up the menu in the app, which was often redundant to an on-screen menu option within the app, but not always. For example, in Facebook, clicking the left button would bring up several options, logging out being one of them. On the Mate 9, there's a back button, which does the same thing as the back capacitive did, there's a home button, which does the same thing the main home button did, but the square button brings up the recent app list. On my Samsung, that was done by holding the home button. So there doesn't seem to be an equivalent to the menu button I had on the Samsung.
So the short question is: how do I bring up that short blue menu in Facebook with the option to log out?
There is no button menu, you have to logout from fb menu.
So, the little quick menu in Facebook that has Logout, Settings, About, and Report a Problem is only available on phones that have capacitive buttons? You have to wade through the much longer list of options within the Facebook app to find those things? It seems odd there isn't a softbutton equivalent. Or at least an option to add one.
For some reason Google thinks the menu buttom was useless and they got removed. Even Samsung phones now doesn't have it.
On the Mate 9 you have option for Back, Home, Recents, Notifications (optional).
Swiping left/right will turn on 'reachability' mode. Holding Home brings up Google Now/screen search. Holding Recents will activate split screen mode.

Even exist a floating button with home , recents, block and back options. You can activate it from quicksettings

Ah, ok, so this is really an issue of me being used to Lollipop, and moving to Nougat. I wasn't sure what the cause was. Thanks!

Well Google never implemented the menu buttom in the software-ones, just home/back/multitasking.
I was using M9 plus+. And there was any option in navigation button. Like a turn screen of. And you could turn screen of by this button without using power button. Which is I liked a. Lot. But know I'm using A9+ but there is no such as think navigation button. Isn't A9 include same option as a M9 plus+? Anyone can help?

Hmm... Seems like HTC left out this Feature on the A9s.
A9s has physical touch navigation buttons, while M9+ (as M9) had on-screen navigation bar (which you could customize).
So you can't turn screen of without power button, unless you use a specific app from the play store (there are plenty) and give it admin rights.
I use screen off

Great day ahead my friends.
I am a new Samsung Galaxy S10+ user. I didn't like to press power key everytime to lock the screen. I prefer Screen Lock either widget or app.
I found some apps in the Google play store ,some of them are not compatible with Android Pie. Those working are little bit uncomfortable for me. Once I locked the screen with those app, I can't use either Face ID or fingerprint to unlock the screen. Only PIN works after that. I was unhappy with that.
I loved this inbuilt widget from Honor 8x.
I hope you guys can help me out.
Thank you very much friends
If you use the Samsung Launcher you can double-tap on the screen to turn off the screen. Can one adjust in the settings. Under Home I believe.

Well I don't know if you have problems with power button being so high but for me it was so I mapped Bixby button to execute "screen off" command to Bixby! only problem (not for me since I'm always with 4g or wifi) is that you need net to work.

You can do that to turn it on, but not off.

Yeah, thanks for sharing that possible way to.
But, as you mentioned, it's not a perfect way
Try One hand operation + from Samsung. You can setup swipe from edges with different directions to turn screen off
you can go with softkey edge from samsung store and you have a lock screen button or go for nicelock https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/themes/nicelock-module-download-links-module-t3923844/

Amazing
It was a great help
Using the Samsung GoodLock app I just added it and a notification drop-down button as well. In GoodLock, it's called NavStar.
