Hey! My s7 gets pretty hot just using apps like Chrome.
Hotest point is around the power button and the side of the phone. Somthing wrong or is it normal? The battery temp gets up to 39-40C

Has anyone else noticed their Sensation getting hot even when in the Bootloader?
And I'm not talking about the screen or the battery (those stay cool), but the bottom part of the phone, mainly the front, on the buttons and at the bottom of the screen.
This might be part of a problem I describe here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1259247) but I just wanna see what people say

I think it gets hot in bootloader due to the screen being on constantly and it being white using more energy? Plus if its plugged into to the pc aswell ti will get hot.
PS. In regards to your other thread, I had this issue at first but it has calmed down, But when using mobile data the phone gets hot sometimes in the 40s (used to be alot worse) and also playing some games it can heat up. After peaking o HTC rep they said aslong as its under 50C its safe to use.
Its a very common issue and pretty piss taking but hey, its the cpu thats heating up.

Thanks for your response mate.
The issue with the phone heating up was one I did NOT always have - it just suddenly appeared. Before that, it would only get hot while playing 3D games - otherwise, it would always stay nice & cool, or just a little warm, even when using 3G etc.
So, I don't think it's normal. I think it's a problem. Whether HTC wants to admit it is a different question.
this new t-mo update has messed up my phone. my phone now wakes up out of sleep mode, runs on 100% screen brightness (i keep it on 75%) and it runs hot. I have no clue when its cutting on so my phone has been super hot a few times. Anyone else have this problem? i am not pleased. Any fixes out there? thanks in advance.
Me too! It started yesterday, it gets damn hot. Not when it you first get your sensation, but properly hot! I couldn't honestly hold it, and also the battery just drops insanely in a few minutes. Also I am not sure if it is only me, but the speaker don't work sometimes. A completely new problem :/
I got my phone last Saturday from Orange. The first thing I did when I got home was completely de-brand the device and install the latest OTA from HTC. I have to admit myself, that it caused the phone's Sense to become insanely unstable (going to the green HTC logo after about 15 minutes of usage every time you exit an app) and it got quite hot too. Hot to the point that I didn't even have to be using my phone for it to be hot. I was actually able to put my hand in my pocket during cold weather and keep my hand warm because of the heat of my phone! Since installing Android Revoloution it has solved my problem & all problems with the slowness of the phone.
Hi all,
So my phone starts to get warm rather quickly, even from just browsing the web etc. It usually starts on the back of the phone around the camera area and then eventually more of the phone gets warm as time goes on if I am continually using it. Of course if I turn the screen back off and let it sit, it cools back down. Is this normal? Are you guys experiencing the same thing? Also, when I use the fast charger that came with the phone it also gets quite warm, regardless of whether the screen is on or not. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue specific to my phone. Would appreciate some feedback. Thanks and please let me know.

Doesn't happen to me but the phone does get warm at random times for me but not too often. Maybe there are apps running in the background?

Anyone have their GS6 Overheat and the Camera LED diable?
Had this happen the other day. It was in my pocket and didn't really feel that hot hot either just the buttons felt hot.
I've only had my S6 for 2 days now. Today it was just sitting next to me, screen off, hadn't touched it in a while. I picked it up and it was BURNING hot. I turned it on, and it said it was overheating and in "Cool Down" mode. There weren't any apps I left running (ie. iHeartRadio, Video player, etc). It was literally just sitting there not being used, but for some reason became EXTREMELY hot for no reason. If anyone else is having this issue I'd love to heart about it before I pass my 14 day return period or this thing blows up in my face.
My phone gets extremely hot if I have the screen brightness over about 30%.... even in my pocket sometimes. I've found keeping wifi off helps a lot and disabling all the spam helped too. What really heats my phone up is any kind of camera activity. Any more than 5-10 pictures or 2+ minutes of video makes my phone so hot I wont put it in my pocket. If I could choose again I would of kept my LG G2 for a few extra months and kept away from the pocket oven.
My wife and I got the S6 on release date and haven't had any overheating issues like you said.
Ours do get warm while in use but not on idle.
I would take it back to Verizon and see about getting a replacement. The one you have may be faulty.
Hi Friends,
My S7 is used most of the day as a tethering device to share internet with my pc. The phone gets very very hot on the sides and around the back where the camera lens is. The volume and power off buttons are super hot. On the lower side, the sides of the home button are hot but not as much as the sides of the top. As soon as I touch my phone Note 7 comes to my mind. I have already disabled fast charging. If I am playing games and it gets hot I immediately stop the same. Is there any need to be scared of? What should I do?
Thanks
try resetting it
