Five cores of xperia Z5 always active - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. I am observing so strange thing in my Xperia Z5 dual E6633. Stock and locked boot loader. When ever I check the cpu in CPU Z APP it shows 5 cores active all the time. Is it me or anyone else having same issue

Same here. Phone's idle sitting next to me while charging. 4 little and 1 big core all sitting on 384 MHz seems to be the "base" state.

You can look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/general/root-required-performance-battery-t3376233

What I get, thanks to @Envious_Data's guide
Give it a try if you're rooted It makes a difference

Phones don't sleep when charging

Makes no difference for me whether phone is on charger or not - 5 cores @ 384 MHz is the lowest CPU utilisation I ever see.

It's fine, the little cores are always active and one big core should also always be active, that's how big.little was designed to work.

Is any one else having same scenario over the night with no ise. I am running stock marshmallow

Battery drain after firmware update without using phone
Sent from my E6633 using XDA-Developers mobile app

I'm recently experiencing rapid discharge of battery. As bad as overnight losing 50% of battery without using it. Still wondering what's causing this.
Running latest available 32.1.A.1.185 with Android system being the biggest user using 60% and Cell standby 10%, Android OS 6%.

It is the major bug in the firmware. Every one is having same issue but not that bad as you tell 50 %. Try to disable auto sync and wifi over the night. Also use greenify it helps alot. If have any live wallpaper use static wallpaper instead

Also try to do wipe delvik cache and reset phone

[MOD/SCRIPT]CPU Editor - BEST Battery Life

Has anyone tried this script on their optimus3d http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584508 ,if so has it mad a difference to the battery, and if so could you be kind enough to post your settings .
I guess since there's various kernel/rom( a good thing lol), could you also post which rom and kernel you are using aswell thanks!
I have it downloaded but forgot to test it.
Works can't figure out how to completely kill second core
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
i dl and flashed this trying out battery saver see how it goes
Let us know rom/kernel on that power saver mode don't seem to make a difference on mine? Idk maybe its just me though
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
I dont see any difference as well, for now.
Mode:Battery saver.
Rom: Prometheus 1.4,
Kernel:Samnos superstock.
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app
Okay so maybe that mode is bummed out for us for now hopefully we can get this fully working and also get some kind of core controller app going
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
Okay so I found out what power saver is it lowers you to minimum values and turns off your second core
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
So over night here is my battery life on power saver using
Rom cm7.2+ 1.5 pudding
Kernel whatever comes with the rom

These isn't a very good basis.
You'll need to charge to 100% and then let the battery drain.
So the battery saving option is only for screen off if so well that's pretty good I wounded if there's a way to turn one core off totally cuz I don't ever play games on my phone just text and call well see I got work tomarow so then ill be able to compare
ok so im running acidhazard 4.2 with thiazo3d 1.2 kernel with tweakzv6 also running simple home launcher from LG. i turned the max cpu speed of secound core to 300mhz and put it on power saving profile ill report back with battery info after using for a couple days at work.
wish i could use samno's kernal with undervolt that would probly give me awsome battery life, but i get no service with his kernel.
ok bad idea to turn one core all the way down got kinda jumpy and laggy veiwing xda web site lol ill try finding a sweet spot

[Q] Best screen on time with OPO thus far

I can live with the CM software bugs for now but I really want a good idea of what battery life is like for average use.
What has been your best screen on time?
With Franco kernel I've gotten 6-7 hours
Sent from my One using XDA Free mobile app
About 5 hours in almost a day. Could probably get better but it doesn't seem to idle as nicely as it should for this soc.
5.5 hrs sot with 39 hrs before charging.

I tried a lot of ROM, but none have a battery life equivalent to 12.1 CM CAF (perhaps due to the kernel caf)

anytime you do an update give it a day or two before determining how the battery is.. it burns through some doing optimizations on the first load
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
i can also say the edge screen isn't giving that multi touch palm issue any more. Im glad to see that fixed as well.
I'm afraid to do the update since they say it cannot be rolled back
if you are looking for any root in the future i would suggest holding back from updates
I updated and so far cpuspy says deep sleep instantly as soon as screen is off and dont see any wakelocks so far. I disabled junk and uninstalled stuff I dont need and removed notifications for any games(I just check my games and weather manually). So far no android system drain at all in 15m on battery. I updated 30min ago then fast charged.

Battery has been good since updating this morning. I normally get 9 SOT. I'm down to 83 percent and already have 2 hours SOT. Can't wait to see how this pans out in a few days!
Has anyone checked if this update unlocked the bootloader?
That first update knocked out 2.4ghz wireless reliability, I wonder if this will fix it! *fingers crossed*
My battery and camera have been great! I haven't had a low-light picture that was amazing yet, but that's not their fault!
Hooray! They fixed the screen too sensitive already. And I feel it run smoother now.

Agreed. This was my biggest pain point. What a relief that its fixed!
Screen sensitivity fixed here as well. It so much easier typing now. Also my palm resting on the edge no longer makes the screen go unresponsive.
Android System battery drain also fixed.
I'm torn between accepting this update and holding off for root possibilities.

I'm in the same boat. All these reports of improved battery life and smoothness/camera/touch screen makes it harder to wait. I figure if you're content with the battery life then just wait it out. I hope potential root would yield better results than any update [emoji41]

The option does seem to be missing from the Wallpaper menu. I just set one that I downloaded from the Play Store though and it works fine. Just have to open the app after you download it and set it from there.

Do u have any kind of Bluetooth problems after u reboot the phone. ?
Installed Nougat 7.0 with Odin after download through SAMFIRM. No problem whatsoever encountered yet, everything works flawlessly. Phone seems little faster. After 4 hours of use also battery use seems little better compared to MM.

No, everything's working fine. I didn't fresh install. But I did have some battery issues. Device idle and cell stand by are the main battery drainer.

Maybe you already know, but I wanted to mention in case you didn't. After months of looking into cell standby battery drain, the ONLY way I can minimize it down to basically nothing is to be in airplane mode and using wifi/wifi calling. Sad to see that cell standby drain is still an issue with 7.0 though.
Thanks for the info, I've tried mostly everything but I still couldn't fix the issue.... As of right now I'm on 25% with device idle by being 8% drained about 225 mAh and cell standby being 5% drained 149 mAh.
It might be that I didn't do a fresh install... Since I haven't heard anyone having issues with battery. So I might factory reset in a bit.
