Rooted my Samsung Transform and put Android 2.2.2 on it.
The new update came with a bunch of sprint junk as usual and some large apps
that bog down my transform. The normal manage applications screen won't let me uninstall any apps. Everything is grayed out. Please help?
Root your phone and install titanium backup to uninstall those apps.
Or just mount the /system/ partition as rw and delete the apk from /system/app and the data also.
Hello everyone!
I have a Droid RAZR HD rooted with 4.1.2 MR-2 - Verizon Wireless.
I have used Uninstall Master to uninstall 31 bloatware apps.
I keep a backup of the uninstalled files just in case I want/need to restore them.
The problem that I am having is with Titanium Backup. It used to show the uninstalled apps in the backup/restore section with a line crossed through it to show that it was uninstalled but still being backed up.
Now I can't seem to get Titanium Backup to recognize the uninstalled apps which are in the Recycle Bin of Uninstall Master and also showed as backed up in Clean Master.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Edit: Problem solved.I restored everything from Uninstall Master and ended up just freezing the bloatware with Titanium Backup.
I unlocked the bootloader, rooted the phone and installed TWRP. I then installed an uninstaller app (root) to uninstall a system app. (Email) because I use the Gmail app but I am not successful in uninstalling the system email app. What am I doing wrong?
I haven't rooted this device yet (Was all Samsung devices before), but removing system apps can sometimes give odd results. Processes crashing ect. (When I removed Facebook from my Stock Note 4, It made it so I couldn't auto rotate anymore. Needed a fix here on XDA someone found). What I would do is install Titanium Backup and uninstall it that way (Make Titanium Backup actually back up the app first, then remove)
Hello OnePlus XDA Family. Hopefully someone can help me. I have just received a OnePlus 6 preloaded with Oxygen OS 10.3.2. I have rooted it and I am now trying to debloat it with TiBu but I am not able to uninstall any of the system apps. I receive the following error message every time I try to uninstall 'Cannot remove system app | Failed to locate the apk file.' I can only guess why this would be happening, perhaps it is android 10? the a/b partition thing? Is any one else having this issue? I have searched to no avail. Kind regards in advance
Yes... I do understand your frustration but I can confirm that titanium back up can't uninstall some of the system apps (mainly bloatware).
I suggest you the ADB way using a pc and a USB cable.
Follow this page (it works with rooted or non rooted phones)

You could use Terminal Emulator Debloater, Swift Backup, or just freeze the apps instead of uninstalling them.

I found the same thing. I use Root Explorer to delete APK's from my OP6 now.
Hello folks.
Slowly but surely getting my nord ready.
I installed xxxnolimits and have a few questions.
1) Nandroid/Backup - what are my options here as I see TWRP does not fully work yet. Also I will have parallel apps installed.
Is there a way to backup with parallel apps? TWRP used to give an error.
Titanium backup - will backups made on titanium backup be safe and still work when restored? Is this my only option of a "backup" at present?
2) Is there a way to disable system update and system update notification - I used to to it in titanium but ive read that wont work on current android versions.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Hi!
My Nord is unable to restore apps with Titanium in android 10.
The new app called "migrate" is the best alternative to save all your apps, data, permissions and more.
This app make a flashable zip for your twrp companion (for a new clean rom install) or direct flash (like magisk) to reinstall your apps without reinstall a new rom.
You need others apps for direct flash: "migrate flasher" and "migrate helper".
Find all stuff in google store.
The full backup work on the (new) last version of twrp for the Note (exclude user data).
Migrate and twrp is best solution to make a full full backup
For remove system update, use a debloater terminal (magisk module) to remove com.oneplus.opbackup package or just disable it by this command:
Code:
su
pm uninstall --user 0 com.oneplus.opbackup
No more update notification after that.
It's possible to remove update menu in your settings menu:
Use a setting editor on edxposed or other source (magisk, root app,... ?? I don't know if exist)
Bonus: use oxygen updater on play store and you able to find the last fw for you and flash it in ota without remove root stuff.
Bye!
I got my Nord a few days ago and restored all my (200+) apps from my previous phone with TB. At first try it couldn't restore some apps but disabling Verify apps over USB in dev mode fixed it.
I made backup through the adb backup command. Because any recovery backup solutions is unavailable and backups from the apps can't be restored if my phone is in brick mode or on bootloop.
