Touchwiz not responding with sd card in - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Guys I just got a stock s7, did a old phone to new phone backup and when i insert the sd card, each bootup crashes touchwiz - it takes ages to respond and let me click 'ok' on the dialog to close the app.
It seems fine when i boot without sd card. Sd card has about 50Gb worth of stuff on there - possibly some apps from old phone that i've used the "move to sd card" option - might be causing this ?
Can anyone suggest what i can remove/delete or do to sd card to fix ?

save what you need or want to keep from the sd card on the computer, then format the sd card on the phone, that should sort it out

need some help...

i tried partitioning my sd card using the script method through the terminal emulator and i messed up. the sd card cant be read anymore and when i click on sd card settings on the phone it just freezes. also when i attempt to reboot the phone without the sd card inserted itll just stay at the tmobile splash screen until i put it back in and then itll resume and go to the flashing android screen and go to the home. sometimes the card will show up under the phone settings and show extreme amounts like 1 terabyte of free memory any ideas what to do?
buy a usb card ready and format the card

Phone is asking for SD Card

I flashed my friends G2x Gingerbread with Clockworkmod via NVFlash. After that, I rooted the phone with jboxer's zip. I was going to install EaglesBlood rom but when I booted into recovery and tried making a backup, it said "Can't mount SD Card" and it didn't create the backup.
I had to go into ROM Manager and create the back up and install the rom through there.
Now that the ROM is flashed, I can't use the camera because it says "Please insert an SD card before using the camera."
Also, in the notification bar there is an SD card symbol with a "!" on it and it says "SD card removed. Insert a new one"
What made the phone ask for the SD Card? Was it CWM?

Which card? The internal one that comes with the phone? Because I have an SD card and I put it into my friends G2x and then I was able to use the camera and everything.
The problem is that it's asking for the SD card and without it, the camera doesn't work.
Is an SD card needed to create a backup and flash a new rom? Is there anyway to use the External SD that's in the phone?

The memory in the phone is the internal "sdcard" not the external one. Making backups requires a physical sd card. What good would be making backups to your phone memory and then your phone gets hosed and you cannot access that memeory anymore and poof, backups are gone. Without an sd card the camera should be able to use the internal memory. Check the settings in the camera and make sure it is set to use internal memory. Also, some roms switch the internal "sdcard" and physical sd card around, which can get real confusing. But in recovery the physical sd card is always where the backups go (at least as far as I understand it).
Yeah I got it now. Cm7 does switch the internal SD with the microsd that's why the camera wasn't working, but there's an option to switch them around

CM7 assumes you have a physical sd card and that you want it to be the main memory the phone uses for "sdcard". I personally prefer to leave it as is to avoid confusion. It is just that if you use internal memory and your phone gets borked, you lose everything in the internal memory (a common problem with Galaxy S devices).
Is there an option for this in the Miui (latest) rom? I am having the same problem.

new memory card and moving info

Hi I'm really new to this Android stuff and well I have an 8GB memory card and just got a 32GB card
I have copy pasted the info from old to new but, all my apps that were copied to the sd card are not loading.
I copied some apps to the external memory card to save space on my actual phone
what am missing? or do i have to put all my apps back on my phone then move them again?
Thanks for your help!
Are the applications not showing only in the launcher or even when you go to settings--->applications?
If they are not showing when you go to settings---->>>applications then you might need to install them back again. Or else what you can do is insert back the old sd card and move all the applications back to the phone. Copy all the things from the 8GB SD to the new one and check if they work.
If you want better answer please do write your mobile model and be sure that the mobile accepts 32GB sd card.
Thanks

Micro SD Card on Marshmallow

So I have a sprint Samsung galaxy s5 and I just started running it on the resurrection remix ROM which is amazing works perfect but I'm having issues formatting my SD card I actually bought a new SD card and formatted it right away in the device but I wasn't able to move apps and then when I wiped the phone and didn't format it it allows me to move applications before I formatted it and in the storage menu but doesn't show up in any file manager can anyone help with this problem how do I make my SD card visible and still move apps to the SD card

To move apps to SD you would need to format as internal. Here read this. Its a new feature in Marshmellow. http://gadgetguideonline.com/androi...-to-use-micro-sd-card-in-android-marshmallow/
Try formating the SD card in a SD card reader on a PC. Then put it in your android and format it there.
Also did you just put your SD card in after you installed your ROM? Because I formatted mine on a stock ROM.

Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?

Hi folks,
I have an SD card here that I was using for Adopted Storage but I've managed to get it stuck as an "adopted" card and can't seem to get it back functioning as a normal SD card
Long story short... I wiped the device the card was in but I didn't "unadopt" the SD card before hand - as in set it back to portable mode. While the device could recognise there was an SD card afterwards, it couldn't prepare it for use and suggested a card error or something to that effect.
I figured I'd just pop it in my laptop (Windows 10 x64) and re-format it but this didn't work. Failing this, I decided I'd "nuke" it using Minitools Partition Wizard. While this program had better luck identifying the card, could display and delete the partitions on it and could run the Wipe task - it had no effect on the card... the partitions just re-appear after any attempt to nuke them!
Has anyone any ideas about how I can restore this card back to a normal FAT formated SD card?
Just to clarify - I don't care for the data that might be on it... I just want the card back usable
Thanks
Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?
The best solution for now would be to plug the sd card into a phone with android 6.0 so that the phone can read the card and then while setting it up,you can format the card as "normal "(the part where it asks you whether to use the card as in adaptive storage or for accessing files).

When I try this, I get "Unsupported SanDisk SD card"
I'm then asked to select either Portable or Internal and then Erase & Format but neither work. They fail at 20% and the message "Unsupported SanDisk SD card" is shown again
I'm a bit stumped. I thought surely the encryption used on adopted cards was only to stop external reads. It seems in this case it's stopping me from writing to or formating the card
