hello guys, I've a Lumia 820 (carrier EE UK). It is carrier unlocked and I can use any SIM card. My problem is, previously I could connect to 2G Vodafone network but, after some days, it is not connecting to 2G network. There is no problem with 3G/4G network (it happens with all other SIM operators too). I have a poor 3G/4G connectivity in my locality. Interestingly, WP Internals says my phone is SIM card locked
I tried hard-resetting, selecting network manually (it shows 2G networks but can't connect), I've even tried using different SIM cards and operators but nothing helped.
I did contact Microsoft Customer Support but, they too can't find out what's wrong with the mobile.
Please help me

Hi,
i got a verizon thunderbolt and want to use it in germany with gsm/umts network.
Its showing all the time, "this sim card is not recognized" (emergency call only).
is there anyway to get gsm / umts radio on it?
Please help.
thanks.
Good luck with a phone that won't work correctly over there. The SIM slot IS NOT for GSM network use. It is for LTE, you CANNOT use it on a regular GSM network.
What g00s3y said. You can only use your ThunderBolt sim with other ThunderBolts or other LTE phones that will come out.
Sorry

Need help on at&t network.
Recently i purchased one dual-core/dual-sim cellphone by one Chinese manufacture. It's claiming 4-band GSM, 850/900/1800/1900.
But when i insert att sim card, it always has 'Emergency calls only'. While with T-mobile sim card, it can be connect to T-mobile quickly.
As i know, TMB has 2G 1900 coverage, so as At&t. So i assume that this is not frequency issue. And i am pretty sure that this cellphone does have any 'lock' problem since all phone in China doesn't lock.
It took me a few days searching the solution but no luck. Network operators is grayed out when with att sim card.
This is what i'v tested:
-ATT, H2O prepaid card, no help.
-Changed the APN, no help
Then i go further, modified 'BP' firmware, like changing QCN (it's Qualcomm chipset) item 1877 according to this post, http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...1521355&page=7.
But still no att.
So i am just looking for help from xda. for now, i can't tell what's the issue is.
I can provide more info if someone has some thought.
Hi! I have a specific trouble, searched in Internet and I finally decided to ask here. I hope someone can give me some "illumination" to this...
I have an old FreedomPop sim in Spain (3G only). It works with Orange 3G in my town (the "official" mobile network is Yoigo 3G, but there isn't here, so Orange cover it in its place). The problem is that the carrier set the SIM up wrongly and it "believes" that Movistar is an available mobile network for data, but it doesn't (FreedomPop had contract with them at the beginning, but not anymore, as far as I know).
So, before I went to a town with a Yoigo 3G network, it connected sometimes to Orange, sometimes to Movistar. They never appear together in the mobile networks section in my Android when I look them up: it's just Movistar, Movistar and Vodafone, or just Orange. If I'm lucky, it catches Orange; if not, it connects to Movistar (so no data at all, just emergency calls).
So, after I went to that Yoigo 3G town, my cell phone never catches Orange anymore. FreedomPop offered a free SIM change to us users (with LTE speed), but with worst contract conditions, so I would like to keep this one.
My question is: is there any way to "say" to the cell phone that ignore the SIM info about "it's ok to connect to the Movistar mobile network"? I tried tons of times to find it in the mobile networks section, but Orange doesn't appear (I have another cell phone here that requires Orange and it's always connected)
I have a Sony Xperia Neo V (mt11i) with a manually flashed Android 4.0.4 (official). Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers!
I verified a very wierd behavior. Even if I selected the 4G on both Sim, the sim not selected for data traffic is always forced to connect to 3G 900MHz. If I go in areas without that kind of coverage that sim becomes unreachable. I can deduct that dual 4G is actually a fake , isn't it?
Driving me nuts - should be so simple.
I have a 2nd hand AT&T LG v20 (H910)
The guy I bought it for claims it works on EE
But I cant get it to work with an O2 Postpay sim. (The O2 sim works perfectly in another phone)
Ive been into Settings->mobile networks->View networks and O2 is listed
I can select O2.
O2 is then shown at the top of the screen and there are 3 bars of signal strength
But I cant make or receive a call. If I try to call It eventually times out with the message 'Network Unavailable'
Digging around some more I find
- the networks it can detect include O2 RAT 4G (along with Vodafone, EE, 3 and can be 4G and/or 3G and/or 2G). O2 RAT 4G is the only O2 network detected and the phone says it is registered on this network
- A different (but similar) phone on which the SIM card works (LG V20 H990DS) detects primarily 3G networks (Vodafone, EE, 3, either 3G, 2G or both) including O2 RAT 3G and the phone says it is registered on this network
So maybe I have to change the networks to which the phone can connect . . . . but how do I do that?
Any suggestions as to how I get this phone to work on O2 postpay
