Odin 3.11.1 for Galaxy S7 series - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion

Here is the latest ODIN to support Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Use it with HOME_CSC will not wipe your data. CSC_ will wipe your data.

Source?
Where did you got this file and do you have prove ODIN will NOT FREEZE (like 3.10.7) when it reaches the folder "META_DATA" in HOME_CSC?
Maybe you can upload a video to YouTube to prove this version doesn't freeze?

Ques:
Did you use a "modified" HOME_CSC (where the folder "Meta_Data" was removed) or the original one with that folder inside?
Data was intact after flash?

Odin version posted works great

So is there currently a method to upgrade fw (stock) without having to re-install twrp, wipe data etc? If Odin 3.11.1 maintains data, does it also maintain the recovery?

I'm so confused by people's very very vague instructions!
Why say don't use CSC as will wipe data, and then say to use HOME CSC? Do you mean wipe /data partition?
Can you seriously not provide proper instructions?
E.g. Select a file or check a box? Some examples? Or select package etc.
Very simple to spend extra 30secs to write clearer instructions, as you also will receive more thanks!!

You can flash any 920F firmware. Country does not matter. I think your issue is not with the firmware. Are you on the newest version of Odin? I have 3.10.6 and that works fine.
I have AP:G920FXXU1AOD4 CP:G920FXXU1AOD4 CSC:G920FOJV1AOD4 and tried to flash another firmware G920FXXU1AOCW to try got my SPO2 sensor to work however this ended up soft bricking my phone. I had to use KIES to reset my phone. I am using the latest ODIN however it fails on the hidden.img.
I do not want to root my phone to fix this issue.
So in short my experience is no. Others probably have had better success.

1. try to flash the "G920FXXU1AODG_G920FVFG1AOD1_G920FXXU1AODC_HOME.tar" in the tread with Odin
2. when Odin fails on "hidden.img" download the "my recovery" file thats in the tread(the file provided from dehnhaide) and flash it with odin then your good to go.
follow the rest of the steps with smartswitch afterwards
good luck

What exactly are you hoping to achieve with flashing the firmware?
if its not to solve a specific issue then stick with the firmware you have.

Because it's encrypted. Backup all your files from your internal storage to your pc and do a "format data" on TWRP, that sill decrypt the /data partition.

If you don't do a factory data reset in the settings of your phone but use the factory reset option in twrp recovery instead then you will not lose your pictures or anything else in your internal SD card.
Odin flash the stock firmware after doing a full wipe of system, data, cache, dalvik and factory reset all in twrp recovery before Odin flashing.
Good luck and have a nice day.

It's easy to root.
Get the twrp Odin flashable TAR file , the noble version and Odin flash it after copying Jovys rooting kernel into your internal sdcard.
You can find jov23's stock-modified rooting kernel in the n920t original developers thread here in this forum.
After Odin flashing twrp your phone will boot into twrp recovery where you need to install Jovys zip file kernel.
Good luck.

Maybe the bootloader in what you are flashing is older than your current bootloader and it's blocking it from flashing, you can't downgrade bootloader on most Samsung devices that have Android 4.3 or newer.
Or maybe you need to flash your stock kernel by itself and then flash the complete firmware.

You will have to convert the kernel to a .tar or .tar.md5 to flash it with Odin, flash it in the AP slot.

Help with my Samsung Tab (SM-T111M)

I've been doing a cleanup on it by TWRP, but I ended up deleting everything, including the system. now, Odin no longer recognizes him, kies do not either. What are my options? Can I install Stock Rom through TWRP?
It does not have root, because it does not have root, can I still use TWRP to get to the original stock rom? Does the stock rom need to be in a special format for this?
the rom that I have, has all the files, ap, bl, cp, and csc
Thank you all.
