A cracked screen glass Flex 2 here.. Screen Touch still work like it should. Glass is badly cracked. Don't know this Flex 2 digitize on the glass or on the LCD like Samsung Galaxy phone? Googled without any result of replace glass only.
Digitizer only cannot be replaced, you'll need to replace the digitizer AND led. You can find the combo on eBay/Amazon for about $50-60. I'd recommend getting the digitizer/ led already mounted in the housing for about $10 more, it'll be much easier to replace.

do i have to replace the whole lcd. i see digitizers on ebay for like 20 bucks...
I have been told that they must be replaced together
Yes, the screen, glass, and digitizer and all that are fused together. As far as I know you can't replace one without replacing it all, bringing your price closer to $180. I've got a broken screen now as well. Wish the glass was an easy (or rather cheap) replacement.
Edit: I see the glass only on eBay, but I'll give you warning that the SAMOLED screen is glued to the glass pretty well. Unless you REALLY know what you're doing, there's a 95% chance you'll break the LCD trying to separate it from the glass, then you'll definitely have to spend the $180 or so for the whole thing.
I just want a new glass. My digitizer works perfect so anyway I can just get the glass? I don't wanna spend 200 bucks for a screen and a digitizer. I just want a new glass. Is it possible?
I haven't seen them separately. Not sure though

I haven't seen just the class but you could buy one with a fried digitizer and then just use a heat gun to remove the glass.

I sent mine in to Samsung and they replaced the glass/digitizer for $145.00
I suspect they sent me a whole new phone tho.
Found just the glass on ebay for $20
Ok, so I found the glass only as well but am not sure if that can be replaced without buying a digitizer too. I have a couple deep scratches but nothing is cracked. I just want to replace the glass. Can this be done? Is it glued to the digitizer? I have not been able to find a "How to" showing just replacing the glass.
Thanks for any info.

I replaced with $15 glass from ebay. I used a hair dryer. The whole glass is glued to the display, so it took several hours. Maybe a heat gun would work better. I also chipped a polarized sheet that was between the display and the glass. Touch screen still works, but not as well as it did because of the slight space between screen and glass, if I squeeze it down again and turn the screen off and back on it works fine for a little. Probably would use better glue or something next time.
The outer glass on my Moto G cracked recently, and I was wondering if there's a way to replace only the glass. The digitizer/lcd is working just fine.

Hey Bro!
My Moto g is happened the same thing... All places that I see for replace the glass, say that not possible to replace just the glass, Cause has one glue and they won't replace them. Here, to replace the lcd/Digitalizer cost like a 150 Dollars.
Cheers Man! :highfive:
There's a few tutorials on youtube for that. You can get the parts on ebay..
I noticed that replacing just the glass screen is a bit of a hassle because its glued on the screen panel and the broken glass has to be heated to get it off. After that, you have to remove the glue stains with a solvent. This is perhaps the reason local shops dont do that. It's too much labor. I would only try it for myself if I wouldn't care too much about breaking the phone or learn from the process.
Although a glass screen replacement with a lcd panel is a bit more expensive, I would recommend it for easier replacement if you are new to disassembling a phone. Its around 40 bucks on ebay. Or buy the screen and digitizer and ask a local phone repair man to do it for you.
I use a tempered glass screen protector to avoid this kind of problems. Just a couple of bucks saves you allot of time and money..
Hi
My nexus 5 has fallen down. Touch and everything is working graet. But the front glass is broken. Is it possible to replace just the front glass or must i replace the whole lcd+Touchscreen??
The whole lcd costs 80 €. Its too much for this old phone.
Thanks in advance
You need special equipment to separate the glass from lcd and there is a large chance that you break the lcd. LCD with Glass and plastic frame cost around 40USD on aliexpress or ebay
Yup, aliexpress.com is the way to go for a low price but the screen isn't quite as nice as an original LG screen. I've replaced the LCD/frame/digitizer on two N5s and it was very easy.
Did anybody try replacing the glass screen on the LG G5? Not the whole digitizer, screen only.
Looks like replacement glass is found quite cheap.

There is a crack on my screen, the touchscreen is perfect. Is there a procedure somewhere that can be followed to get it done? I see a lot of videos for a complete teardown. But is it possible to just use a heatgun to take the glass off and put the new one in?
These display modules are oftenly replaced altoghether, because replacing only the glass requires it to be really precisely fitted and hermetically glued, you can probably try to seperate the digitizer from the display, but you may end up with a some dust underneath the glass or some unwanted gaps.

I had a crack on my screen at the top of when it fell down on concrete floor. I had to buy the whole display with glass and digitizer for about 130 euros. I did not know that you can just buy the glass and replace it with a lower price. Oh well... but if you want to separate the glass from the digitizer or anything what is glued, always use the heatgun. You can also use the hairdryer. I had to replace a battery by opening up a back cover with a hair dryer. For separating the glass from the digitizer you have to heat it up very often, pry it open and hold at several spots, to avoid breaking components. It s quite difficult but take it slowly.

So, if I crack my screen I need to get a screen replacement with frame or just screen replacement?
Screen replacement with frame

Screen Replacement

You can get without the frame, you will just need to heat up the glue between the frame and old screen to cut through the glue to remove the frame. They cover it on the instruction video on Fixez.
