DEVICE DISCLAIMER:
I DON'T OWN THE DEVICE. TESTING ON THE SPECIFIC DEVICE WILL BE LIMITED TO TESTERS
Krexus was born out of a simple necessity. The latest releases of stock Android (namely lollipop and marshmallow) were pretty close to my idea of a perfect android ROM, yet missing some elements, which are meant to be included in stock Android, at least for me. Starting from a clean AOSP environment, only specific features and fixes are included, which are personally tested ON HAMMERHEAD, with one goal in mind. To create a stock like android ROM, "as it should be".
This means, and I mean it, a ROM like how stock nexus image should be, for me.
This isn't going to get bloated. Most UI "features" are already there.
This isn't going to start picking commits relentlessly, I will test them personally and only add things that 1) work like they should 2) would fit in a stock ROM.
This isn't going to be updated very quickly. Only security and bug fixes will be pushed out ASAP.
This is going to follow Google's & AOSP guidelines as closely as I can.
And lastly, this is first and foremost a ROM about Nexus 5 (hammerhead). This is my personal device, this is where I test the ROM. angler, bullhead, FLO, mako, shamu builds are provided AS-IS. With that in mind, I have to say that the google+ community has been flashing flo builds for a looong time and hasn't come up with anything, so I thought I'd share it here, too.
That said, welcome aboard!

It works.

Looking forward to trying this on my tablet, thanks!

June Update: MOB30M
Quoting my post here: https://plus.google.com/+GeorgeGian/posts/h4iVRiBWcXF
This is also the reason I delayed the release post in XDA:
I will update the download link to the AFH gallery: DOWNLOAD HERE
13/06/2016 builds
A test release of the June update is out (most of you got the Pushbullet notification). I changed the upload location after so many requests, and started using AFH:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=devices&uid=23501681358558648
My upload script worked perfectly (that's why you got the Pushbullet notification automatically) but, as I have said, you have to wait for me to wake up and publicize the downloads. :/ Uploading to AFH has another drawback, I can't check the md5sums of the files with my script.
Now, regarding the actual release:
I used +Nate Benis vacation as an excuse to work on something I wanted since Google starting the month releases, to automate the blob extracting and updating (too much "automate" in this post already xD). Comparing my script output with the other, already updated blobs out there, I found out that it gives out the correct results. But I can't test the actual blobs, that's why I tag this release as a TEST release.
I don't have the devices, so I need (some of you) to test the builds and tell me if anything works correctly, hardware wise.
BasketBuild doesn't have the latest builds, so your update notification link won't work.
Changelog
- June rebase
- Translations
- (probably) Fixed Wifi tile FC

Blobs for all devices seem to work fine, so that's a huge win for me I hope you enjoy this build, and thank you so much for the translation support! Now Krexus is multilingual! :highfive:

Been running this on my N6 for months, very happy to have you here dude

The July update is here! Announcement post:
July security update
08.07.2016 builds are in AndroidFileHost!
Changelog is updated correctly, your updater should show you the builds correctly.
Important changelog for me:
1. New themeable battery is added
2. Clock date position is added
3. Refined code in SystemUI Settings
4. FINALLY fixed the double battery percentage text in expanded SystemUI
5. Check under each app's info for a new feature inspired by the equivalent Xposed one, "show link to Google Play".
Krexus one is written from scratch though and tries its best to only show up in installed applications that have a listing in Google Play and not in every app.
6. Forgot to mention +Nate Benis for the blobs again this time, no time to work further on my automation script.
THIS IS A REGULAR LAYERS COMPATIBLE BUILD
I hope you like the new wallpaper. As always, let me know if you have any problems with the build.
Last but not least, July is here, enjoy the summer!
Cheers!

When @KreAch3R showed me this rom, I really wanted it for grouper because of the close to stock implementation.
It runs very well on the aging tablet and is a good way of experiencing Marshmallow like it should be from Google.
I want to thank @KreAch3R for the help and support he gave me.
Useful tweaks for better performance:

This will be the post where I am going to write any new updates for my ROM. First of all, welcome!
For XDA, this is a new ROM. But for Google+, it isn't. I been testing it and releasing some builds in this private community, so be sure to ask to join for the latest info! I created this thread to let more people try my ROM, now that I feel it is in an almost perfect condition.
As as I said, my idea is to create a better stock ROM, and this is my target goal.
Another of my target goals is to make the release of a new build almost automated. Right now, the compilation of the 6 devices build list is finishing, and is uploaded to basketbuild, with clever smart scripts. This also updates the changelog in my site, so I don't have to write a new post everytime a new build is released. Everything should work!
Speaking of releases, the ROM comes with an updater, so you don't even have to check the community or this thread for new links. But follow the pushbullet channel if you want!
I've been copy/pasting information for the past half hour, so this new thread is bound to have mistakes and inconsistencies. Let me know and I'll fix it!
Some other important points:
You have to flash SuperSU and GApps.
If you have a question, you should check out google+, in case it's there.
For the Devs: check my vendor folder, I have been developing some automation scripts which I think, you will like!
I am an one man team, sorry for any slow responses.
Yes, this ROM is released for 6 devices, not hammerhead only. You can grab the zips from Basketbuild. I haven't created XDA thread for them (yet) because I don't own them.
I hope you like the ROM!!!

Man, this rom really runs great. Nice to have a guy like George G. at the helm. As always @GtrCraft, thanks for your exceptional work on grouper and good luck on any other exams you may have.

GtrCraft,
Which Grouper ROM do you use: This Krexus, your CM13, your Minimal OS for Nexus7, or your Pure Nexus Project?
Or something else?
Thanks for all of them!

Download in OP
I couldn't get this to load on my grouper. Stuck on Google screen.
Coming from your CM13 ROM. Using TWRP 2.8.7.0
I tried wiping System - no go.
Any trick to this?
EDIT: Is this the issue where one needs to revert from CM to be able to flash non-CM roms? Seems I had this problem with other devices and earlier OSes.

Not just Banks gapps, open gapps pico/nano none of them are working. Even tried without flashing the gapps. My guess something is wrong with the ROM zip.

Oh, Wow, that's the first time I hear this. Ok, I'm quoting:
Q: Which GApps should I flash?
A: Open-GApps are fully supported and recommended, if you want configurability. Just don't exclude GoogleTTS. Otherwise, flash BaNks.
Q: Is this ROM rooted?
A: NO. It is supposed to be as clean and modular as it gets.
Q: So, which is the correct flash sequence for me, the beginner?
A: Read beginner guides in XDA
Wipe system, data, dalvik, cache in TWRP
Clean flash the latest build for your device
Flash a custom kernel (optional)
Flash SuperSU 2.52/2.X-latest (optional, if you want root)
Flash Open-GApps (whichever you want, I use a custom setup for the stock)
Flash vendor img (if necessary, check below)

Krexus-CAF is what the name implies. The Krexus unique combination of mods, on top of a clean uptodate and latest CAF source.
Built mainly of top of AOSP-CAF (with permission) and using only what's necessary from all the other great non-nexus device supporting ROMs (CyanogenMod, Dirty Unicorns, AOSPB, Tesla etc), Krexus-CAF tries to provide the maximum compatibility possible with CM-based device trees while keeping a small ROM base.

Problem with snap camera app
Hello,
I have a problem with snap camera app :
When rotating the device to landscape : the buttons on the side disappear.
I've seen this behavior in other roms, but in other roms, the snap app works fine... (buttons rotate and stay visible)
I do not know what makes it work/not work : I tried replacing the app + libs from a rom that has a "working" button rotation, it still does not work

In RR and AICP there aren't the little lag in UI in the phone app when open the contact at first time but in this rom is present,i know that this isn't a bug, but if there isn't this rom is perfect
thank you very much for your great work.
sorry for my bad english.
rom the menu has gestures ?

Krexus-CAF is what the name implies. The Krexus unique combination of mods, on top of a clean uptodate and latest CAF source.
Built mainly of top of AOSP-CAF (with permission) and using only what's necessary from all the other great non-nexus device supporting ROMs (CyanogenMod, Dirty Unicorns, AOSPB, Tesla etc), Krexus-CAF tries to provide the maximum compatibility possible with CM-based device trees while keeping a small ROM base.
Lead Developer: @KreAch3R
About Krexus:
Krexus was born out of a simple necessity. The latest releases of stock Android (namely lollipop and marshmallow) were pretty close to my idea of a perfect android ROM, yet missing some elements, which are meant to be included in stock Android, at least for me. Starting from a clean AOSP environment, only specific features and fixes are included, which are personally tested, with one goal in mind.

Awesome dude! testing right now
The concept of this ROM looks nice. I will test it soon.
P.S. These apps aren't bloats, they are essential for any ROM to be usable. Calculator, Calendar, Gallery, Clock(for alarm) and Messaging.
Please add the stock variants of these apps.
This ROM is fast but it suffers from same duplicate contacts bug like all AOSP ROMs.
Don't know why i can't upload anything to xda.

This is very nyc ROM. I just loved the fact that it is very minimalistic version of Aosp-Caf. Thanks and keep the good work up....
Also pls consider updating the security patch to that of May.

Happy flashing!
Hey Nice work getting omni on the flo,
Just wondering though, without some somewhat large modifications to frameworks_av repo in omni there is a lot of functionality that breaks such as camera and video recording, furthermore it likely won't even build without at least https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/22152/
So I am asking if you have modifications done elsewhere in the repos that aren't in your github or does your local manifest reference other roms frameworks repos?

Hi,
I have pushed all the changes i did to display and audio HALS also I had to add one commit in system_sepolicy and bionic. I didn't modify frameworks_av at all. And everything seems to work pretty well. Hope this clarifies all your doubts thanks.
@poad42
Hi, thanks for your work
Can add a data synchronization icon to the quick settings?

Use theme like domination or magpie reborn for for a dark theme in app drawer. Lonesubs has it too.

-Merge Latest linux kernel version tag V3.4.113 (So no longer stuck with v3.4.0 and its security vulnerabilities)
-Remove additional safetynet flags from kernel (Use magisk Hide and safetynet should pass just fine)
-Merge f2fs fixes from Unlegacy Android's kernel

Thank you! I see that some of the commits are getting pushed officially. It's nice to see a new release is being made for flo.
Do you think you could also maintain for CarbonROM? I'm just thinking that it might be worth a try.

Not really, I am more interested in keeping device and kernel sources up to date for this device than build more ROMs. Since most of the ROMs still use a deprecated kernel anyway.
Ι think this moment it's the most stable and smooth romance for my Flo

Oh man, I was waiting after the "Kind of ROM you guys want" post! Looks Awesome...
Just, a bunch of Questions:
Is this ROM CAF Based or AOSP Based?
Does this have a In-Built Update Channel?
Have you checked my reply in your "Kind of ROM you guys want" post?
Do you mind building a Paranoid Android ROM for our FLO? I've tried a lot for this, but: *The comments on this post are kinda harsh!* :crying:
Sorry to disturb you if you are not willing to... *sigh* :fingers-crossed: :highfive:
