Previously owned z3 and Z, this new z5 is running so slow.
Even the most basic tasks ate taking forever and phone is so leggy.
I've also now got some ads coming up on the lock screen. I've managed to disable it on the options as it pops up but can not see what app is causing it.
Please can you advise on removing it and anything else causing this poor running.
I've tried various antivirus and ad removal apps with no joy

U can use adaway for scanning adware.
For best results, perform full factory reset and do not install such doubtful apps anymore to prevent further issues.

I rooted it using method mentioned here
I installed "Uninstall Master" and "RootAppDelete" to get rid of some annoying system apps like Facebook, every time, does not matter which one I use, when it uninstalls an app, the machine would restart right after, sometimes even before the uninstallation finishes and I have to uninstall again with another restart followed.
anyone? I am really frustrated!
anyone? also, what is the best setcpu configuration for sony tablet z?
Has anybody tried the xposed framework? Phone is rooted and I want to use the "keep notifications" feature which requires xposed. I have read the xposed threads and it seems like its very unstable n had loads of bugs and can also almost brick the phone. Has any body tried greenify with xposed? Has anybody installed xposed successfully on moto g?Are there any problems on moto g due to xposed?
Thanks guys for the help. I did install and activate it and rebooted. I activated the greenify module and rebooted again. Then I turned on the "keep notiifcations" feature in greenify and rebooted yet again. Now another problem quietly bombarded upon my face. I am simply not getting any notification for the hibernated apps. For example, let's take the Facebook's messenger app. It is hibernated. I asked my friend to send me a message just to see if I got any notification. I simply didn't. Any solutions to this?
Noo... nothing like that u cn use....i m using it...also have more modules too..nvr had any problm.

Xposed gets unstable if you use lots of modules and especially some exotic ones.Otherwise you wont even notice that it's there.
I concur. Used Xposed with the GravityBox and BootManager modules for several months on my previous phone and never had any problem. I guess you could get bugs if you activate different modules that perform the same modifications, though. They might conflict with one another, I guess.

Yes : uninstall Greenify
I never noticed any real difference in battery life.
I am seriously considering giving up on greenify for a while and see if it goes well, maybe back to use ART in this case for uninstalling xposed. I feel the battery impact is not that huge at all.

Guys, I don't use Greenify for saving battery, I use it for getting some free RAM. These apps like Whatsapp, Facebook, Messenger, etc always keep running in the background and hog memory and impact game performance. Also, when these apps receive messages and a notification comes up, the running game lags for some seconds badly. One solution is turning the wifi off. But still, these apps do try to connect when running in the background and thus they do have some sort of activity going on. Also, they eat RAM and depriving the game of memory and thus slowing it down.

In that case simply enable "GCM Push notifications" on experimental features, all the pushes that come within GCM will work properly - well, quite properly since it lags the notifications a bit on my end.

Hello,
I just changed my phone, the xperia Z2 to Z5. I then reinstalled much of my app, and I must admit it already lag.
There is not an app that blocks the app auto start, and shut them truly when i closed? (without rooting the phone, I'd avoid gun down right away my warranty ^^)
Thank you !

There's functionality to disable selected apps,
disabling Autostart unfortunately isn't possible on the stock ROM
You could try out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rs.autorun&hl=en , https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=imoblife.startupmanager
but in the most cases the phone needs to be rooted for these kind of tools to be efficient
Thanks for your quick response, do you know a method to root the phone without loosing the warranty ?
How the hell did you manage to make a 3GB RAM device lag?
Do you use any of those boosters, battery savers, AV's or any other crapware like this?
Yes, I use this kind of tools... Apus, Clean Master, app like that. Do you think they are bull**** ?
I don't know of it exist an app or a option to export all my ram consuming to show you.
There you go. They are all bull$hit. You do not need any of this crap. Uninstall them, give clean master and those other boosters 1 star rating and the device magically becomes faster.
Also be sure to uninstall that AVG as well that came with Z5 (mine did come with it) you honestly don't need that either.
Android can handle it's RAM itself.
Here's a quick and easy guide..
1. Navigate to Settings>Apps
2. Force Stop and disable ALL bloatware and unnecessary Apps..
(just keep in mind, when disabling an App, you MUST also disable the app.. Force stopping it alone won't stop it from restarting).
3. Navigate to Settings>Storage and Clear cache..
4. Reboot device and enjoy a more stable and lag free device, and better battery life.
Oh I almost forgot...
Don't install any of those bulls*** useless battery saving apps, or virus scanners etc.. They do absolutely nothing for your device except take up space, ram and cause the device to lag because of constantly running in the background.. I have trialed many of those apps on previous devices and they did nothing but waste space and ram and cause the device to heat up faster than normal. Since then I've had many android devices and never installed any of those crap apps and haven't had any problems with battery, malware, performance etc..

The Z5 has KSM Enabled by default meaning that it will clean up duplicate info aswell as fairly agressive OOM
You shouldent easily run out of ram but just to keep performance up keep away from the following apps, e.g disable or uninstall
Google search
Google maps
Google photos
Facebook
Any performance boosters or ram cleaners

Flash stock firmware with flashtool, choose to wipe everything
I'm currently with the latest version. I rooted my Z5 about a month after buying it and some weeks later I installed Xposed on it. Since then I have experienced these problems:
- On the YouTube app I can't watch any videos after watching a certain quantity of them (I haven't done the experiments to know what that quantity is). The only solution is to restart the phone.
- Similar to the previous problem, the fingerprint scanner stops working after some uses. Or maybe it's after a certain time, since once I experimented using it continuously until it stopped working but I stopped at about 30 uses because it was still working. It says the hardware isn't working, or something like that. Again, the solution is to restart the phone.
- The last (maybe) problem is probably related to Xposed or root. When going to the settings and trying to see the apps section, it takes tooo long to load. I do have a big amount of apps, but I feel like it's just to much. The worst part is that when I directly go to an app's settings (without going through the phone's settings and all) it is very slow, like it was loading all apps again
So, do any of these problems have solutions? Or does it only happen to me?
Oh, and I need to address this:
Is there a way to hide the headphone notification? I hate it and hate the fact that Sony put it there just because yes and with no option to disable it.

You can do it with the xosed module GravityBox.
Hi,
Had this issue for a little while since after upgrading to Android N on my S7.
Prior to that, I could go to the home menu while Kingdom Hearts Union X is active or switch to another app, resume and the KH app would resume where it was.
Now it seems to start the app very briefly, then shuts down and requires a fresh boot of the app again.
Other apps I regularly use don't seem to have this problem, and I haven't seen any others complain about this issue for KH in particular, but I don't know what could be the cause on my phone?
I did try Greenify and S7 has some inbuilt thing to clear RAM and etc., but the same still seems to happen.
Anyone have any suggestions?
P.S. Also out of interest, I've read keeping all apps open on the multi-app screen is better practice than manually closing them? Is this true? And would they use internet data/resources in this state?
Thanks
