Huawei Ascend G6 LTE - Modded b370 -EVOLUTION - All what you need in one ROM! - Huawei Ascend G6

------------------------- My modified ROM -------------------------
Updated on 07-04-2015
This is a backup from what I have in my phone, modified by me.
Check bellow the new update and let a comment!
Lets see her first! : https://youtu.be/ygulhZFlGjQ
In this version have a New "Face", by default external sd storage is the main storage, have a new bootanimation, a better one core performance ( 90% of the apps use only one core ), better RAM usage, have a Mega Themes pack that will be created in external SD CARD but you can delete the themes you don´t like it, ADB is in ROOT mode, default recovery have busybox tools, new tweaks, two hardreset zip to use with TWRP ( one version install the default recovery again) and auto resize data partition to 4GB!
Data partition is where user data and apps go, by default is 2GB!!! And still have the option of sending the apps to sd card!
And automatically will send the apps to sd card IF YOU HAVE A PRIMARY EXT4 PARTITION IN external SD card, if you don´t have apps stay in phone like default.
This is for #Huawei #Ascend #G6 #L11 #LTE. - European version, i don´t now if works for other countrys.
So, like before...
This ROM is from a backup from my #phone and it was #modded by me, for now everything is working fine but some times issues are only noticed with the use of the device.
My version still #Kitkat #B370 but very diferent from Stock #ROM, have more tools, options and user have Full control from the phone.
Please read all to understand and see what you need to do and how to do it!
One of the best things in this version is that data partition was increse from 2GB to 4GB and if you have a ext4 partition with +/- 3/4GB ( don´t need more ) in your external sd card it will install the all apps there automatically!!!
Advantage of this? You will have a huge store space for the apps!!! And the "#low #storage #space" advise, you will never gonna see it!
If you don´t have it, it will work like default ROM.
To create a primary #ext4 partition in sd card with the size you want, you can use mini partition tool (for windows OS ).
http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
This video shows how this ROM works with a external ext4 partition in sd card what means that all apps go to sd card and let internal storage free, the example shows how to create a 8GB partition but is to big...4/3GB i think will do the job:
https://youtu.be/7st6838_aAg
Use a class 10 sdcard, better if is one to use with 4k pictures, it have a better performace!
-> To use it with sd card ext4 partition is better to start from factory reset with the partition already created in sd card!
Or create the partition and flash this ROM!
It have Rashr from #XDA, it is a app that easly can change/flash your recovery and do some other things.
When you flash this ROM it will create in your sd card a folder called recoverys, inside you will find #TWRP ( modde by me to ) and the default recovery.
How to use it? Open #Rashr, give root permissions, select recovery, search in explorer for sdcard1, open recoverys folder choose the one you want and flash and flash it! Is that simple.
And now this ROM will install in your external sd card a flash zip to use with TWRP called Hard_Reset.zip. What it does???
It will reset your phone AND the ext4 partition you have in external sd card!!! Full reset, in phone and in the external sd card ext4 partition! You must flash it with TWRP to work.
>>>>>What this ROM have?

ADVISE!
Always do backup from the ROM you have in your device.

My device is working properly with out any problem so far, some times bugs only be noticed with use and i will update this post with the ROM fixed.
Install it by your own free will, I am not responsible for any damage that may appear in the device.
Lets start! ( If you had any of my other version jump to STEP 3! )
If is your first time in this page start by unlocking your bootloader, and by flashing b118 ROM, if you already have done this skip this 2 first steps and go to step 3:
STEP1: To Unlock the #bootloader, first try this site, but if you don´t have you need to create a account ( free ):
https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
Insert your data like this example for U10:
http://postimg.org/image/6kddvoboj/
U10-G6, huawei G6-U10, etc..., DON´T WORK! Insert it like image shows.
Example for #L11 model:
http://postimg.org/image/wha6ixm85/
Be sure from the data you are inserting...
Now, with the code, use G6SKnife to install the drivers for Huawei, option ( d ) than turn off the phone, press volume - and power at same time, it will boot in bootloader mode, plug the usb cable, wait if is installing the phone, use G6SKinife again and use option 18, read what is in screen. If was done right the phone will reboot with factory reset and bootloader unlocked.
Step 2: You need B118 ROM #Firmware or a new one than B118 ( B119, B120, etc ) because old versions don´t let to install TWRP...
So lets flash B118:
Download this zip:
G6-L11_20V100R001C432B118_Firmware_West_20European_Channel-Others_Android_204.3_EMUI_202.0_20Lite_05012GFT.zip
https://mega.nz/#!Tl4CnSBR
Key:
!rTuufQZhcyEGGY2_4iUc2S9lPZ61MamYS7OMydYFf1I
Extract the dload folder to PC desktop, paste in external sd card and with the phone OFF, press the volume KEYS and power at same time, hold it, and release power on boot, if don´t turn ON release only power, than volume keys when flash starts.
This video shows the flash from B118 than to Huawei_Ascend_B370_LTE_BB ROM but we gonna do it a litle easy, OK?
https://youtu.be/duF3kWSpgsI
STEP3: Install TWRP but ! you need ! this version, or your flash will fail!!!...
Download this TWRP exe file:
https://mega.nz/#!39olHSqI
key:
!-xrnsx_nYPF4H-IeQXn6znbkn_1TbYUaHaYUx_O0qB4
Boot in bootloader ( must say unlocked in red ). Do you remeber how to do it? Turn off the phone, press vol - and power at same time! Plug the usb cable and execute the file you download!
It will reboot.
STEP4: The ROM!
Huawei_Ascend_G6-L11_EVOLUTION_B370_ROM_V2.0.0.zip
https://mega.nz/#!j9Ay2IYI
Key:
!Z9jQhLr3-kmyBjNicw_q8FZyqp-pjRVlG0h24JYIO-I
Copy to sd card, DON´T UNPLUG THE USB CABLE, why?
Power off the phone, it will boot in TWRP!!!
Now go to install and flash the ROM!
READ ALL WHAT IS WRITE IN THE END OFF FLASH!!!
It will say to GO BACK TO TWRP MAIN MENU -> REBOOT -> ! RECOVERY!!!!!!!
You will go to FACTORY #RECOVERY!
Do a factory RESET!!!
I advise to use a cat10 extreme sd card - normally used for 4k movies and go to settings -> #STORAGE and change main storage to ->SD card.
Done!!!!
>>>>> FIX CUST, CHANGE PROVIDER AFTER INSTALL ROM<<<<
This ROM was edited to vodafone pt but can be changed to your provider.
When you flash it, if you are not from Portuguese Vodafone it will show a bootanimation that say " Change Cust after settings than do a factory reset ".
This is how to fix it with Root Browser, that you can find in ROM, go to folder /DATA and seek the custom.bin file, open it as a text file, you will see something such as example zt/rt, now we left the folder /DATA and go to the folder /CUST , we open it and we will find a folder with the name vodafone, we will change the name of it to the first name that we saw in custom.bin in our example will is zt, use small font, now we entered the zt folder and we will find another folder that his name is pt, let's switch to the second name of our exemple which will be rt, use small font!
Go back and exit the app, do a factory reset. Done!
The video shows how i change cust from hw/normal to vodafone/pt
So ROM is set to vodafone pt, you must do the same to your provider.
Check the video to know how to flash from B118 to one of my old version, is the same with this one to:
https://youtu.be/1rV3NAylyIo
On video you can see one of the advantages of external partition, a default factory reset or flash don´t delete the apps you have it in phone before, it will be installed in first boot! Some times it will take longer if you had to many apps.
The app on video is STORAGE SPACE, was in external partition like you will see on video, and was installed in flash!
ext4 partition is only reset by Hard_reset.zip!!! Default reset don´t "clean" that partition.

Installed your ROM yesterday over the stock firmware of my Huawei G6 L11 B360 . So far working everything working fine and the phone is really responsive!
Except that the app Rashr is not working. It closes immediately. Not really using it so I don't really care but now you know.

Read my post carefully and you'll find at those steps where download is required links which look like "goo.gl/...", copy them, paste in the address bar of your web-browser and you'll see the download button.
Problem with system updates
I've followed the the steps as you have listed them, but upon reaching 1/5th of update, it stops. The messege says "Installation aborted" and i'm in the system recovery. The device is rooted and with stock firmware, so i don't know if that is a part of the issue. All help is appreciated, thanks in advance

[Alcatel OT-991] Apps 2 Sd

This Script + boot.img Aims to make as much as possible use of the sdcard (ext2 Partition) and use it as the internal space of the phone.
Anyone who got the time to download v2 can use the "upgrade-from-v2" script to upgrade to version 3 (you need 2 reboots), in version 3 (if you installed v1 you need to wipe/factory + format ext2)
In version 3 the script deletes Maps.apk and Street.apk & language Packs of keyboard. (if you want it, backup those apks and install them again to /data) with the space left in /custpack partition the script is able to link all dalvik of system and custpack apps, this drives the reads/write of the sdcard to 0 zero, everything in the phone is fast as normal since it will use its nand, and the sd is dedicated to every new apk is installed.
Change log:
Version 5
1. Changed the way it copies files to retain file attributes
2. Copy with force over-write
3. Check for deleted apps and delete files from ext durring the schedule check for linking.
This change will correct problems were one app would brake after a reboot (if this app was installed before)
Note: file name says v4 but its v5
Version 4 Deals with random broken libraries after a reboot.
Notice:
Use a Fast SDCard class 6 or 10 with good response time
* First boot up takes much longer.
* Then you have to reboot again 1 time to be fully installed.
* Give the ext2 partition 1.5 Giga Or 2giga its enough.
Troubleshooting:
* If you having problems with an app, uninstall it, reboot, then install it again.
Back up all of your apps:
adb shell
mkdir /sdcard/myapps
cp /data/app/* /sdcard/myapps
Click to collapse
And after the wipe etc.
adb shell
cp /sdcard/myapps/* /data/app/
reboot
Click to collapse
Installation
1. While the phone is turned on completely, (and rooted run Setup.bat
2. Turn off phone and flash the new boot.img (sd-boot.img )
3. Turn on phone enter to recovery and wipe/factory data.
4. Format sdcard with ext2 Partition, insert it, turn on phone and wait a lot for the first boot as it will take time
Only at your own risk Be careful because you have to flash the modified boot.img to use it.. flash it using the files you used to flash boot for rooting the phone.
Note: All bugs have been fixed, version 6. Actually with a class 10 my phone runs more smoothly and faster even than stock rom... if anyone is intersting for a release.. leave a comment.

[Q] Can anyone boot any Smartphone from the external SD Card?

These are my current problems:
1) I lost my Galaxy S3 overboard!
2) I had not made a backup because I detest Kies. Kies crippled my PC performance and hid my backed up (*.sbu) files from the PC file system.
3) I want to avoid the use of all proprietary software on my PC in order to manage my backups (including OS backups).
Proposed solution:
1) Buy a replacement Smartphone (a Galaxy S4?) which has an external SD Card slot.
2) Flash a custom bootloader with complete Backup / Restore functionality.
3) Backup Function: A complete phone Backup, (i.e. OS, Apps, Data and MyFiles), is made to a new folder in the root of the external SD Card. I can give this folder any name, e.g. “OriginalPhone” or “2013-04-21” etc.
4) A single file in the root of the external SD Card called “current.txt” contains a single folder name - that of the default folder for booting, e.g. “2013-04-21”.
5) Normal Booting uses the files originating from the folder specified in “current.txt”.
6) If there is no change detected in the boot files of the “current” boot folder, the phone boots “normally” from the OS copy in NAND flash if this results in a quicker boot than booting directly from the external SD card.
7) Booting with a combination of keys enables the Bootloader Restore function which allows the user to choose the boot folder to restore from.
8) I can use my PC file manager to manage all OS and data files for archive, backup and restore purposes. I will not need to use any proprietary software!
9) If I lose my phone again, I simply buy the same model as a replacement, change the bootloader, copy my most recent backup folder from my PC to a new SD card, insert the new SD card into the phone, and restore my "complete phone".
Can anyone help me to create a custom bootloader with complete Backup / Restore functionality that can boot any Smartphone from the external SD Card? Thanks in advance!

These are my current problems:
Hello
It is the second time, I buy a Smartphone and after the garanty time (1 month after it due to software error my smartphone doesn't work anymore.)
I have bougth a honor 7 premium. During installation process may be due to obsolesence programmed or battery low during loading, it stucked I think in boatloader /EMUI (emui install failed error). the honor image stays and also after wipe cash partition and wipe to factory reset, it doesn't start.
I would like to start and if possible flash a new android SW on the honor 7 to be able to connect to it.
Actually I can not connect it with the PC. It is not visible.
Is it possible? Do you have any boot SW I can put on SD card. It would be very helpful.
My wife needs his mobile before leaving for 3 weeks on monday.
Feedback would be very greatfull
thanks in advance

User's Guide for dummies

USER'S GUIDE FOR DUMMIES AND NOT ONLY...
Here you can find how you can install, tune and use the custom ROM and KERNEL. And some info about some hide out question...:highfive:
Links to apps, rom, CWM added!
1. Format SD card class 10 or higher (U1) (because of quick access, higher number means quicker SD CARD) in your PC or MAC at 2 or 3 partitions with this program:Partition Manager
Here exactly HOW-TO: FAT 32 and EXT4 partition.
As you can see, we will prepare SD CARD for future using with program LINK2SD. Here is to why and where for: LINK2SD
2. When your SD CARD will be ready, copy any custom rom you wish. Aha, almost forgot it. We assuming that our device is Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) but this guide should work on any type of Android Device.
3. After copying custom rom on the preformated SD CARD, copy the recovery. The best one is:HighOnAndroid (CWM)
4. O.K. Now is time to flash recovery and then restart device.
5. Now we flash ROM (almost every custom ROM has been rooted) Wipe cache, System, Dalvik Cache and in CWM choose option Instal ZIP from SD CARD (where we have our ROM) in my case that was Android Revolution HD 11.2 Lin is here
6. Reboot system. Instal apps whatever you want LINK2SD mainly.
7. Now is time to copy Boeffla Kernel to your ext. SD CARD.
8. Reboot device to CWM, choose Install from SD CARD, install Boeffla Kernel, reboot device.
9. Download apk called Boeffla Config v2 and use it for setting your Boeffla Kernel.
10. My Boeffla settings: Power Extreme, MDNIE 1, Scenario 1. Boeffla Sound -Miscellaneous: Speaker tuning ON, Privacy mode ON
(after then when you connect your earphones to Device, internal speaker will turn OFF, it's bug in Samsung's ROM, because even you connect earphones speakers still plays.Miscellaneous tab = Modules enabled which one you want.
And then reboot, use your "pet" (device) as much as you can! Try Antutu, try stability test etc. etc.
I hope that you try this guide and your "pet" will so happy as I was, I'm and I will
And If you will back to LINK2SD you will see that your partitions is format as well as you want!
All apps will be install to your SD CARD, to EXT4 exactly said. So your internal NAND and memory will be free and clean.
Only System and Data will you got onto your internal memory. And one more thing: :angel:If you don't made backup, please, make backup your EFS folder !!!! Your EFS folder is most important folder in your device.
Everything you can repair, but when you delete or anything else damage your EFS folder you can realy physicaly damage your device.
See this: EFS Issues.
In this folder you have all important information like a IMEI, WIFI address, your Carrier and so on...
Without this will be your device very expensive coffee pad only!:crying:
I've been in this hell-like situation and without Linux and Android knowledge I should be without my "pet"...
Bye for now and again thanks to Andi for Boeffla Kernel and others developer:
(Zedomax for CWM Recovery, Mike1986. for his Android Revolution ROM, Bulent Akpinar for LINK2SD, Kalagas for great themes)

P.S. If you got some question about any from this guide, ask me. Everything has been 1000x tried and said. But here you got 10 in 1

Unroot Android (remove symlinks by Link2SD)

Before posting this, I tried looking at other forum threads and over the internet in the last week, but could not find a solution so far.
I have a Huawei Y300 with Android 4.1.1. It was rooted and was pretty much fine except for some issues (they happened in time, are not caused by the rooting itself). Meanwhile, I changed the SD card and the defects include:
- cannot set contact photos (it stops when it tries to crop image)
- cannot change theme (it shows it empty and says "internal storage full" - which is not true, plenty of free space shows up in app manager)
- can't use file manager - doesn't see anything from Local
- without a card in it, gallery and camera don't work at all
I did a factory reset and cleaned the davlik folder, but didn't change anything.
The problems come, I think, because Link2SD creates symbolic links to some folders, and those folders are not the same in a new card. For instance, when I use Root Browser and click Properties on some folders, I get:
Path: /sdcard
Symlink:/storage/sdcard0
But, when I use phone's File Manager, it does not see the files from "storage0", it shows only files located in "storage/sdcard1"
I tried to do a system update, by putting a firmware zip (or app) on the card. But it does not see it there, because it sees what the symlink tells it to see. So I'm stuck in a loop.
Because it was impossible to make Link2SD see the new card, I used another phone, with Android 4.4. After endless attempts, I got that phone to see the two partitions on the card and function. (I had to make Link2SD system app and chose ext4 for second partition.)
I took the card back to the problem phone and only sees the first partition, not the ext4 one.
In Link2SD storage info it shows:
Internal (69% free)
SD Card (unmounted)
External SD (93% free)
Second Partition (not found)
System (33% free)
Cache
When I click Recreate mounting script - it says sd card not found.
Relink files: /data/sdtext2 not found
I basically would like to get the folder structure back to the original settings, maybe use the phone without card or with a new card, with or without rooting - just the simplest way possible, but to be able to use photos for contacts and wallpapers.
update
After numerous attempts, I managed to get into recovery mode from Link2SD (the same ) and started firmware update.
It lists doing some operations, but very soon it says wiping cache... and installation aborted.
Should I try with a different ROM? This one is from Huawei website, official, general version.
it's done!
Not that anyone answered, but in case you have the same problem: it's fixed!
Again with Link2SD. Made a third partition on the card, than in Link2sd click the left upper corner for more options. Scroll down for Restart. It gives options for recovery. Deleted everything with the two options to wipe cache and I don't know what else. And than chose restart from volume keys and upper button as enter.
It didn't do an upgrade, rather a downgrade to a previous factory version but i'm happy with it.
Won't risk another rom change.
