widgets not working/not updating

I just got a brand new N5. So far so good but theres a couple of things that are bothering me... mostly the fact that widgets dont seem to self update at ALL!! When I tap on them they still work, but the actual widget stays the same. Anybody know how to resolve this? Im coming from a Note 2 and Im really liking this device but this might be a deal breaker!! Thank you all in advanced!!

the update to either 4.4.1 or 4.4.2 (cant remember) jacked up my main weather widget. it stopped syncing time as well. it was EZ weather i believe. i switched to CM's cLock and that works just great. i think some app devs just need to update their code in order for some of these apps and widgets to work correctly again on the latest KK.

Its all stock. I haven't modified it at ALL. I just got it yesterday.

Known issue. I haven't tried to reflash, since i am getting great battery life. I can't find the cause either.
I've tried clearing cache of the google search app which includes the launcher, still no go.

Since you recently purchased it, see if you can exchange it. but I doubt it's a hardware issue.

This is true for a huge range of widgets. Many of the battery % widgets do the same...they don't change until you tap on them. It's obnoxious because the entire point of a widget is to actually keep updating.

Having the same problem here. even the email widget wouldnt load email. it gets stuck at Loading...

Green Spot issue

I recently got into this green spot issue like everyone else. Planning to install whole bunch of AT&T stuffs to bring it back for replacement. However i found a fix for this. Dont know if this is temporary or permanent. Gotta wait and see. But at least it works on my phone and it may help the others too. Please dont yell if it fails on your device.
I went to Settings --> Apps ---> All ---> Camera ---> clearing data and cache. Reboot the phone and voila!! everything is FINE FINE FINE!!.
My phone is original AT&T H810 10g, flashed to H810PR 10A and rooted.

I know this has been an ongoing problem so I say good job and keep us posted.

REPORTS:
As of now, after 4-5 hrs of use. The green spot seem to come back. I cleared data again, come back to Camera, it's still there for 2 seconds then disappear. Try tweaking the manual modes, it come back on and instantly disappear and never come back again. taking like 10 photos in different settings, angles, corners, lights. I dont see it again. I know it is still there. This is not a 100% fix. But it doesnt hurt to try. At least to me, there is a way to get it working when needed.

Updated: the green spot appear everytime i walk outdoor under the sun. Indoor, low lights are fine. So if the light is too bright. It will appear

Mine is after a day or 2. I dont know. Got the phone and flash H810PR right away

Yes, i switch to that H810PR

I just noticed today I'm getting the green spot as well. I am also on the H810PR. Has anyone seen/heard of a fix for this or should I revert back to the original H810e and exchange the phone?

I don't believe you can revert. If you can let us know how it goes.

i'm pretty sure this is the ROM issue. Because my phone worked fine before flashing

Try to restore your phone software. Maybe it will help

I also developed the green issue after going to the PR rooted rom. We likely won't get any further updates along this path - is everyone just living with it?

If its related to software issue maybe we gonna have a poll within PR users that whose have and not having these green spot..but before these PR kdz was released, we've already seen some users having the same issue..
I guess its affected mostly in 1st batch devices

I got the green issue right after flashing PR. Im travelling out of the country this week. I will have a pro technician check it out whether it is software or hardware related and report to you guys later. If it is a software issue, i will try to upload a stock firmware if i can buy it from them. I talked to a guy earlier this morning, he says he can figure out what the problem is when i bring the phone to him. Worst case scenerio, he will flash it back to stock at&t. Their stores has the official LG tools to do it.

I replaced out my camera and both the camera flash and sensors and the greenspot was there again.

So it is the PR rom that caused it?

The camera was fine for while. But the moment I started using it again it came back. I had no problems with my ois and flash making noise/humming/vibrating till after I switched.

Random Update

so i was using my phone, and it just prompted me to install an update. I've gotten all the prior ones At&t has forced, so I was just curious if anyone else was getting an update. Also their support page doesn't have any information on it.

I'm getting it too. It's updating right now. I also couldn't find any info on it either.

When its done updating, let us know the build number. I got the notification but i'm not updating since I've got a rooted 10I build right now.

same here. It is taking a while so I am hoping it is the MM update since Lollipop has been sucking ass

Highly Doubt its M...if it is, that would be an unheard of fast for ATT...I believe its just an update to fix the Stagefright bug

Maybe it fixed touch issues? it feels better, but it may be placebo, only time will tell
Also slow motion is missing from the camera for some reason. not okay

For me, the touch issues went away on the last update before the stagefright update.
However while optimizing , my G4 got extremely warm. Never had it this hot since initial setup.

After update Slow-Mo is missing in my phone too...? (WTF)
also phone got very WARM during update. (never got that warm before)
LG suppose to bring all camera goodies from new V10 phone, instead of that they are taking away good stuff from G4 ? (WTF)

I just installed the update and I still have Slo-mo on my camera. Maybe your update only partially applied? I can't seem to find any release notes on this update yet. I saw some things about an update for battery improvements for overseas models in an update that came out about a week ago.

Optimizing apps....will post up if i find anything new & exciting.
Just a thought....could this update be the one that enables wifi calling? iPhones on iOS 9 just got it a few hours ago...

Slowmo still sucks terribly and I was pissed when i ordered the G4 at launch for the manual camera control and then it turned out it was only in stills not video mode. Then they say manual video is in V10. Funny as they keep posting V10 manual mode video examples on FB and they are all terrible. If it wasnt for removeable battery and SD card I'd be back on Iphone because it absolutely is now destroying all Android phones, the Slomo quality is amazing. Although I would also miss the video record/pause feature a lot. Still pissed everytime I open gallery and see tons of crap albums that I could hide on the G3 but cant on the G4, what a fing mess. LG G4 on Lollipop has so many bugs, omissions and nonsensical features that it is beyond irritating to have to pray for OEM updates for corrections. I have never stared at a phone before in total hate like I have this AT&T POS. The Google play services update strategy is still total crap. Memory leaks and bugs still abound. Until this OEM release crap ends Android will always be a buggy 2nd class OS.

Not seeing any Wifi calling settings

Just got this. I didn't even know that was another update, until I picked up my HOT phone and see that an update has been install. This morning has been crazy, wonder if I accepted the install on accident...

To hide albums just put a .nomedia file in the album. If you haven't used QuikPic app you should try it, you can choose to hide albums with the app as well.

I really was hoping to get the ability for a guest account with this update. From what I can tell the AT&T version is the only one missing this option and I'm not sure why.

System Time Incorrect

Hi, all! This is going to be the beginning of a string of dumb questions and I apologize in advance! I just opened the X2 702L I got from Hong Kong. To my amazement I found Google Play Store and the whole Google suite already installed! Niiiice! One less thing for me to worry about! I am setting up the tablet on wifi (haven't installed the sim card, yet). The System Time (located in the status bar upper right) WILL NOT CHANGE. I have gone into Settings and even tried to manually change it. It's running EXACTLY 5 hours ahead of my actual time. I installed a weather widget which shows the time. I set it to my city and that widget time changed immediately to the correct time. What am I doing wrong? Does a sim card have to be installed for the System Time to be correct? I am treating this as a wifi tablet until I get everything else set up and a tablet would show the correct time, right? Hopefully, this is an easy fix?

One good part of the 702 is that it is for the non Chinese market so Playstore and Sync close to Android stock. I use Nova as a launcher but the Huawei skin is not bad. I do have issues with clock and widget updates for things like transparent weather so I use the stock widgets.

Holy smokes! You actually got it! LOL. When I got my first X2 before I even stuck a SIM card in it I had the same problem and had to set the time manually in settings. When I put my SIM card in the phone and set it back to Automatic I never had that problem again. Make sure you don't double post the same thing in two different threads. XDA moderators don't like that as it clutters them up with duplicates. Just post them in Q&A.

Thanks, aj. I had to leave that up in the air to go to a 3 hour meeting last night... I was itching to get back to it. I FINALLY figured it out. I sent an eBay message to the seller with the question. They answered right away with "send a video". But that makes me feel good about them... I also got their phone number and a separate email address from eBay. I am LOVING this phone so far... No light bleed or spots on the screen. No dead pixels or whatever. The only thing driving me crazy so far is that I cannot at least alphabetize my apps! Lol! But this phone came with the Google Play Store and suite installed (AWESOME) and there really are not any bloatware apps that really bother me... Not like on my T-Mobile Note 3... But, of course, now I just read another post that Huawei is only going to support the 703L with updates... Say it ain't so!!! Fingers crossed. Also, for some reason I thought it came with a flip case... I always buy a case so I will have one as soon as I take a phone out of the box. Now I have to scramble to get a case because I am OCDing and am afraid to touch it! Lol! I also haven't completely set it up as a phone. That will happen tomorrow... I am dreading it because I am not sure what I am doing with that Twitch! Contacts app... But mainly I just don't want to deal with the horrible T-Mobile service on my beloved new phone! Everyone keep your fingers crossed that I "get" the rest of this process!*

Was it setting the time zone?

ATT S2 Software update r730aucu2bpd4

This morning I was presented with an update, now running software version r730aucu2bpd4
Anyone else see this? No information on ATT website or anywhere else on the web, except for a mention on a vietnam facebook webpage, that I cant read lol.
I didnt manage to catch a screenshot of the update popup, noting the changes.

My Gear communicates way better now with my Note 5 but I'm still unable to send messages from watch while using numbersync.

Thanks. I really hope they fix the number sync instability. . I am constantly getting "numbersync has been disabled" error and when I try to re-enable it I need to reboot my device. I also receive messages in bulk, days later often times.

Yea I think its the way they make you use that message back up and sync app. I constantly get people not getting my texts and it's a battery hog.

Spoke to soon. It downloaded but failed to copy to watch. Well it took three tries to copy to the watch but it is installing.

Yes, prior to waking up this morning I was on AOL3. ATT website as of this morning still listed AOL3 as the latest. Seems to be working well so far, and walking in Manhattan today the "auto walking" feature of s-health started much smoother and quicker than previously. (for the first time the vibration notified me that it was automatically recoding "walking")

Mine froze at 99% and 100% for about 15 mins, I got nervous but let it sit there and it finally finished.

I'm loving the update very much so far, especially the screen timeout feature. Now Samsung just needs to activate Samsung Pay!

Well after a few days my battery is getting hit hard so as my phone not sure why but after the update my gear s2 is draining fast with my same old settings. On my phone the bluetooth seems to be active more times now than before. Is anyone having same problem?

I haven't noticed anything strange with my battery life aside from my usual drain

Same here, no difference in battery life on the watch or the phone (GS7E).
