Lenovo A850 not showing microSD card after security encryption of the phone - Lenovo A850

I encrypted my A850 under the Settings > Security > Encryption section. During this time, my external microSD card was inserted in the phone, and it has readable data (mostly photos & musics).
Encryption was successful. The A850 rebooted, and I had no problem accessing my phone. All applications can be used.
However, I can no longer see my external storage. Under Settings > Storage, it shows only information for "Internal Storage". Nothing listed under "Built-In Storage". Using the File Browser, I can only see "External Storage" which is the default for the A850's own storage.
I took out the microSD card and read it from my notebook - fully accessible; no problem at all. I rebooted the A850 after reinserting the same microSD card - same problem, i.e. it is not shown in A850. Putting in another microSD card produced the same result (this other microSD card was a good readable unit).
There's no encryption of SD card in the Settings > Security > Encryption section so I am sure the card is not encrypted.
Is this a quirkiness of the A850, i.e. once the phone is encrypted the access to microSD card is disabled?
Any advice on how to re-enable access to the microSD card will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

[Completed] [Q] problems with apps residing on SD card after unmounting USB storage

I have recently purchased an InFocus M512 phone. It runs KitKat (4.4.2).
I have loaded a few apps into the SD card (moved them to SD card after installation).
When I connect a USB Flash disk everything works as expected. When I subsequently unmount it (via settings -> storage -> unmount shared storage) I get the following message:
Unmount SD card? If you unmount the SD card, some apps may be unavailable until you remount the SD card.
When I accept it the USB storage is indeed unmounted (when I physically remove the USB Flash disk it I receive the notification that it was removed, as opposed to a notification that it was removed unexpectedly). The SD card seems to remain mounted - in particular I can access the files in it (via the stock file manager), however I cannot run any apps that I have moved to the SD card - when I press the app shortcut nothing happens. The only way to resolve this is to restart the phone.
If I remove the USB Flash disk without unmounting it, then I get the notification that it was removed unexpectedly (as expected) and afterwards I can run apps residing on the SD card with no problems.
Why unmounting USB storage causes unmount (?) of the SD card?
Is this the expected behavior? Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thank you for your help.
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on your device on XDA. I suggest asking for help here...

Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?

Hi folks,
I have an SD card here that I was using for Adopted Storage but I've managed to get it stuck as an "adopted" card and can't seem to get it back functioning as a normal SD card
Long story short... I wiped the device the card was in but I didn't "unadopt" the SD card before hand - as in set it back to portable mode. While the device could recognise there was an SD card afterwards, it couldn't prepare it for use and suggested a card error or something to that effect.
I figured I'd just pop it in my laptop (Windows 10 x64) and re-format it but this didn't work. Failing this, I decided I'd "nuke" it using Minitools Partition Wizard. While this program had better luck identifying the card, could display and delete the partitions on it and could run the Wipe task - it had no effect on the card... the partitions just re-appear after any attempt to nuke them!
Has anyone any ideas about how I can restore this card back to a normal FAT formated SD card?
Just to clarify - I don't care for the data that might be on it... I just want the card back usable
Thanks
Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?
The best solution for now would be to plug the sd card into a phone with android 6.0 so that the phone can read the card and then while setting it up,you can format the card as "normal "(the part where it asks you whether to use the card as in adaptive storage or for accessing files).

Click to collapse
When I try this, I get "Unsupported SanDisk SD card"
I'm then asked to select either Portable or Internal and then Erase & Format but neither work. They fail at 20% and the message "Unsupported SanDisk SD card" is shown again
I'm a bit stumped. I thought surely the encryption used on adopted cards was only to stop external reads. It seems in this case it's stopping me from writing to or formating the card
Running out of options

External storage (micro SD) won't mount (anymore)

I've been using my micro SD card to store all my music for as long as I've had my 6x. All of a sudden a couple of weeks back I noticed that in the music app none of my songs were to be found. Upon digging further, it became evident to me that the micro SD card was not mounting as external storage since I could not see it under "Settings --> Storage".
Some info:
1) It's a sandisk micro SD ; 64GB SDXC
2) EMUI version 5.0.4
3) Build number BLN-L24C567B376
And I've tried the following :
1) Verified that the SD card mounts without any problem on my PC - confirmed SD card was not the issue
2) Formatted the SD card in both "quick format" and "not quick format" options - didn't solve the problem
3) Reset the phone to factory settings - didn't solve the problem
What is interesting to note is that my phone underwent a software update right about the time when the SD card mounting issue cropped up. But I don't know that for sure and it could be just a coincidence.
Any help / suggestions or sharing of experience with this issue would be appreciated.
Did you try to check in a 3RD Party File Explorer.

To get rid from a big problem.

1) I am using Vivo Z1 Pro (Vivo 1951). When using my external SD card, it always shows the dialogue "Please select external SD card" and it always ask the permission "Allow access to SD card". I can't access the files and folders saved in my external SD card nor can I Write/Rename/Modify or delete them.
2) How to change the colour of selected folders when clicking on the icon of those particular folders.
Make sure the external SD-cards gets mounted when system boots up or when gets inserted.

Question How to format SD card connected to the phone using OTG.

New to Android
I need to format Micro sd cards on my phone. Surprisingly OnePlus Nord 2T (Oxygen OS 13.0) does not give an option to format SD card like other phones. The only option available is to eject the card.
Settings>> about device >> storage >> SD card.
Is there any other way possible to format the SD card. Any suggestions for third party Apps.
Please Help.
It can format the card apparantly. Just buried in the settings menu.
