Yeah it's good... Just bought the phone was about to return it... And they finally spoiled the beans... Now keeping it ?

So i had H960A and the motherboard got burned and and they changed it and now it shows me H960.. So will i be able to unlock the bootloader?
Sent from my LG-H960 using XDA-Developers mobile app

even if the motherboard was changed the practice usually is to transfer the imei... as long as the imei is the same you still have a H960A
check it on lg's site...
Code:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=[YOUR IMEI]
replace [YOUR IMEI] with your imei

Unfortunately there is no any specific information

This seems to be a great news but can someone tell me if the bootloader is unlocked we can do what ?? Root and custom roms?

It`s freedom for You You can use custom recovery, root your device, flash custom roms. News is good but i`m not so optimistic. I don`t know why it take them so much time.

Yeah, European model which I have. Great news. To be honest I don't need custom ROMs on this device, because it's great on stock, but marshmallow with root will be great.

Sucks....

LG V10 is a crap... all phones without unlocked bootloader are a crap. HTC a few years ago decided to lock the bootloader of the htc one. Effect: everybody went buying a sammy... same should happen to LG.

Its compatibility for h960ay?

No its not possible. Unless you want to hard brick your phone. This same issue came up in another forum for someone trying to do the same thing on another device. DO NOT even attempt to do this

I don't think many of us have purchased the 702L so i'm not sure if there is root for it yet. Most, if not all of us have the 703L which already has a custom ROM and root (the latest 5.1.1 Lollipop build hasn't been rooted yet but will be shortly.)

Well, i got the 702L. Still waiting a bit to root ( probably better to request my unlock code in the meantime *lol* ). I want to see what the 5.1 update brings and hopefully xposed can be installed by then.
I got some feedback from Huawei:
Sorry that there have no bootloader unlock code for gem-702l items.
By default , you can do fastboot downloading for some images directly without Unlocking bootloader..

So it seems that the 702L is by default unlocked. Or so it seems from there description.

I'm also looking for a safe way to root 702L....
I can confirm that bootloader in GEM-702L is locked by default... In my experience there is no way to flash custom recovery or rooting... Emails sent...

Use dc-unlocker to unlock the bootloader. It will cost you around 3$ but is the way to go. There is a tutorial on the homepage how to do that.

sorry for my bad english
These 2 get mentioned frequently but I have no idea if the Mate 9 is supported by any of them:
https://gsmunlockhub.com/
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/
Usual disclaimer, make sure you're not breaking any local laws (device unlocking is a grey area in many countries) and beware that you might be invalidating your warranty and/or contract.

In general, if your mobile phone is a contract one, you should contact your old carrier to ask for help to unlock the phone for use with a different carrier. And you need to send the IMEI number to the carrier simultaneously.
Hi,
What's the name of the carrier the phone is locked to? I think I can recommend some services able to unlock the Mate 9.
