Safe car charging charger? - Nexus 6P Accessories

Is this cable safe to use to charge my Nexus 6P?
http://www.amazon.com/Charger-Trons...rue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_3&smid=ALTVS0Q5KJ7M3

Yep! Benson Leung approved - the Google engineer who had a Pixel C fried by a bad cable. He reviews them now and his review confirms it meets all the standards.

Ok, just noticed some of the reviews about people getting their 6Ps fried using this...

If you notice there is a NEW UPDATED VERSION that Benson Leung has tested and updated his review (original review Nov. 12th 2015 Updated review April 26th, 2016).
I just got one of these and so far it has been working well (though it only been a few days).

That is good.Maybe I would buy one for my phone. Thanks for recommending.

TYLT VU Wireless charger - looks promising

or as the author of the article points out: The first thing at CES I actually want, now.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...vu-a-wireless-qi-charger-that-actually-works/
Information on the website is also scarce with only a Coming Soon badge at the top of the product page. (http://www.tylt.com/vu/)
Couldn't agree more... This one really looks great, and no risk of slipping from it i'd say...
I don't understand why there aren't more Wireless chargers available, not to mention the google one, the technology isn't that new...
Yup, looks good. I'm hesitant to pick up anything until Google releases the orb, or at least I see the orb in action. But I like the look of this one.
I keep throwing my credit card at the screen, but nothing happens.

Same here. The corning gorilla glass 3 ad keeps popping up lol.
Happy to see a promising looking Qi wireless charger but not happy that there is no price set or release date... We already have enough vaporware Qi chargers to last several product cycles...

I sent a Tweet to TYLT about the VU and they responded that it would be available in April for $69.99. Really cool but hope it works really well for that price

This is actually the first Qi charger that looks good, and also has some practicality. I definitely will buy it for $69.99, it looks like it has a premium feel to it
I already have an Energizer which was going to tide me over until the official Orb was released.
I'd snatch up that TYLT one in April if it wasn't so pricey... For $70 I'll just wait for the Orb.
No thanks.

I really doubt the orb will be a reality. The Q was canned and never returned. LG can barely keep up with demand and is now rumored to have stopped Nexus 4 production completely. You can't even get a bumper for the device. I really highly doubt that the orb will happen. If you do any searches regarding it, most of the results are "where is the orb?" and many are posted prior to Christmas (it was announced by Google in October, and like I mentioned about the Q, it isn't the first time Google got people excited about something that didn't pan out). So I hate to rain on the parade but I highly doubt it will happen. Even then it may release and be plagued with issues. I saw the CES review on Android Police and the VU seems to be a great device. Not awkward or a pain to charge, just drop the device anywhere on the pad and good to go!
I wonder what they mean by "Output Current 5 Watts" on their product site. 5A? Noo

Anyone else a ZNAPS USB-C connector backer?

I have a feeling I might be one of the few that actually went with this option, but when I backed them, I ended up switching to the USB-C connector they added. Figured I would go for it based off all the Nexus/USB-C rumors, future-proof it. I'm just a little bummed I will have to wait till March at the earliest for it =(.

Yes sir I'm a backer. 2 USB micro and 1 USB c I'm waiting for. Looking forward to it. If they meet their deadlines I'll be surprised
I am, but currently its just the micro usb one. Im about to order the usb c version since i just pre-ordered the 6P.
I backed and it and bought 3 of the Micro usb and 3 Type-C ones. I haven't heard anything since placing my order a while ago.
They literally just sent an email after I posted

You say March is when you have to wait... am I missing something? I just pre-ordered a few of the Type-C ones off of their site and it says they'll ship in January.
Anyway, thanks for this thread because I originally backed the KS but cancelled because I didn't want to risk wasting the $$ for a few months of use with the Micro-USB before Type-C started to come out, and I completely forgot about these!
Those are pretty cool, might order me some

Yeah, I'm a backer of the Sesame smart lock, and at this point it's pretty common place to be incredibly late. I'm expecting around may-june for these.

Hmm...just checked the kickstarter page again, it's definitely a march shipping date for usb-c, not sure where you're getting January from. No problem though =).
I had backed them, then dropped out because I don't believe this product will function well / as advertised, and I think it'll end up being crap.
But when / if I'm proven wrong, I'll pick one up
I doubt these will support 3A charging
They will.
I backed, bought 2 full sets of micro USB and 2 of the USB C type. I can use the micros as breakaways for my xbox one controllers.

according to them it doesn't inhibit speed/power as it is just a pass-through. we will see though. they said its compatible with QC2.0 but who knows about 3.0

Man, i hope so...realistic is April-May though.
I'm a backer too, bought 4 sets of micro usb, before I thought about getting the Nexus. Just added some USB-C, not sure when they'll ship.
I'm a backer too from the kick starter. I ordered 1 micro USB and 2 type C connectors.

Let's hope they at least deliver the micro USB ones on time because I need one for my Shield I'm using 'need' loosely here but I knwo the Type-C ones will take forever...
Hope they come soon. My Oneplus just ate through my 6 foot anker cable. Only lasted like 3 months.

i ordered usb-c and mini ones. They claim they work with QC 2.0 so decent chance the will work with nexus quick charge. We will see.
This product looks amazing, really hoping it works as well as advertised, and if so going to be buying quite a few. Probably going to Preorder a usb-c one tonight although I'm guessing it probably won't ship until end of 1Q 2016.

Ever Since Benson Leung verified those USB-C cables, the prices went up..

Does any one have a coupon code or something to make the price go down..??

lol... yeah i had the i-orange cables in my cart and when i went to checkout... i got denied cuz the prices went up from 15 something to 18 ... now they are 20... WTF ... price gouging! lol
i'm just gonna wait for more "trusted" cables to come out..
Might as well get the official cable for $12.99 through Google.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Yep... I bought it at $16.99 on Thursday (11/5) and it never shipped out to me. Today I got an email saying they are on "backorder". Over the weekend they were "Out of stock" until December. Now today all the cables are magically in stock at both 6m and newer 1ft varieties all in different colors and more expensive than my purchase price. I'l probably cancel the order out of frustration.

All the people that are saying that you might as well get the Google cable, don't forget that the 12.99 is for a 3 ft cable while the orange cable is 6 ft.
i noticed that too. i got the 2m white iorange cable the day that all this began and it was like $12

Ordered yesterday, it's already out for delivery today.
I'm glad prices have gone up. That's a signal to the market that there is more demand than there is supply which will cause companies to produce more Type C cables.
Also, the fact that the popular/high priced cables are the ones that are "in spec" will cause companies to not only produce in spec cables, but advertise that they are in spec which will make it easier to find good cables in the future.
You just have to be patient...

This is the beauty of American consumerism.....
Why don't you just buy the cable from the oneplus one website. It looks good. Cheap and long. It was $12 after shipping and everything. 5ft also

Looking for micro-USB to Type-C adapter that is compliant

Benson failed like all of them so I don't know if there's one that actually works. A little adapter that can leverage existing microusb cables.
Yes, It sure would be nice to see the first certified adapter.
Curious too.
I contacted TechMatte after purchasing 2x of them for $9.99 off Amazon. They said new compliant micro usb to usbc adapters are coming.. I asked for an ETA and haven't gotten a response yet.

Ordered at newegg?

I bought my Nexus 6p at newegg but since then bought all accessories at Amazon since they were cheaper and more used. But I do have a gift cert for them and wonder can anyone vouch for any Nexus 6p accessories from there? I see plenty of cables but don't want inferior or worse yet fry my phone type..
Thanks for any real world experience..

If you post a link to what item you had in mind it would help out. As it stands your post is very vague, so we will need more details or specifics to help you out.
Well, I'm looking for the standard complement of Nexus 6P accessories. So far all the links/orders seem to go to Amazon:
Bought my Speigen case on Amazon as 2 day shipping there was necessary to get it here with my phone
Bought my RavPower battery on Amazon because it was cheaper at Amazon (with ravpower's promo code only good at Amazon)
Bought a couple of Anker Micro USB to USB-C adapters (and a AC Anker USB-C charger) at Amazon because I didn't see them at NewEgg
So the only thing I need to get still are USB-C cables -- (USB-C to USB-C, or USB-A to USB-C).. I see many of them at NewEgg but their review mechanism doesn't seem as robust as Amazon, and since I know the wrong cable can do serious harm, wondering if anyone has actually gotten any cables at NewEgg that they would recommend to purchase.
